This paper presents an overview of our recent work on the use of soft lithography and two-phase fluid flow to form arrays of droplets. The crucial issues in the formation of stable arrays of droplets and alternating droplets of two sets of aqueous solutions include the geometry of the microchannels, the capillary number, and the water fraction of the system. Glass capillaries could be coupled to the PDMS microchannels and droplets could be transferred into glass capillaries for long-term storage. The bulk elastic and piezoelectric properties of potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) and some of its family members such as RbTiOPO(4 ) (RTP) and RbTiOAsO(4) (RTA) have been determined. The piezoelectric, elastic, and dielectric matrix (P-E-D) of KTP has been completely characterized. Values for the temperature dependence of the expansion coefficients and elastic constants have been obtained, and the effects of variations in dielectric constant on coupling coefficient determined. The major diagonal elements of the piezoelectric and elastic matrices of RTP and RTA were measured as were the thermal expansion coefficient of all the KTP isomorphs, KTP in the temperature range 25-80 degrees C, is shown to have a combination of large coupling coefficients (up to k(t)=38% for hydrothermally grown KTP) and medium temperature dependence coefficients of elastic constant (as low as 40 p.p.m./ degrees C for tau(c33) for hydrothermally grown KTP) that makes it attractive for many piezoelectric applications. 相似文献

An approximate analysis of the weakly guiding cladded acoustic fiber consisting of a core and infinite thick cladding both with hexagonal crystal symmetry is presented. The crystalline Z axis is parallel to the fiber axis. Weak guidance conditions require that the stiffness constants of the core are slightly less than those of the cladding, and the density of the core and cladding are almost the same. Approximate dispersion and cutoff equations are derived for all pure guided modes. Dispersion curves of several lower-order guided torsional, radial-axial and flexural modes are evaluated using both exact and approximate formulas and they are in good agreement. The Fourier inversion method for reconstruction of images in computerized tomography has not been widely used owing to the perceived difficulty of interpolating from polar or other measurement grids to the Cartesian grid required for fast numerical Fourier inversion. Although the Fourier inversion method is recognized as being computationally faster than the back-projection method for parallel ray projection data, the artifacts resulting from inaccurate interpolation have generally limited application of the method. This paper presents a computationally efficient gridding algorithm which can be used with direct Fourier transformation to achieve arbitrarily small artifact levels. The method has potential for application to other measurement geometries such as fan-beam projections and diffraction tomography and NMR imaging. 相似文献
