Cryorolling is a severe plastic deformation (SPD) process used to obtain ultrafine-grained aluminum alloy sheets along with higher strength and hardness than in conventional cold rolling, but it results in poor formability. An alternative method to improve both strength and formability of cryorolled sheets by warm forming after cryorolling without any post-heat treatment is proposed in this work. The formability of cryorolled AA6061 Al alloy sheets in the warm working temperature range is characterized in terms of forming limit diagrams (FLDs) and limiting dome height (LDH). Strain distributions and thinning in biaxially stretched samples are studied. Hardness of the formed samples is correlated with ultimate tensile strength to estimate post-forming mechanical properties. The limit strains and LDH have been found to be higher than in the case of the conventional processing route (cold rolled, annealed and formed at room temperature), making this hybrid route capable of producing sheet metal parts of aluminum alloys with high strength and formability. In order to combine the advantages of enhanced formability and better post-forming strength than the conventional cold rolled and annealed sheets, warm forming at 250°C has been found to be suitable for this alloy in the temperature range that has been studied.  相似文献

In March 2002, there were reports of a hemorrhagic fever outbreak in western Afghanistan. It was later confirmed that the hemorrhagic symptoms and increased mortality were actually due to scurvy. Most aid workers did not include scurvy in the initial differential diagnosis because it is uncommon throughout the world and has mainly been reported in refugee populations in recent times. A rapid assessment confirmed the cases clinically, estimated a prevalence rate of 6.3% (a severe public health problem), and determined that the attack rates peaked each year in January and February (the end of the winter). Many Afghans have limited dietary diversity due to isolated locations, lengthy winters, the continuing drought of the last four years, asset depletion, and loss of livelihood. After numerous food and fortification options to prevent future outbreaks had been considered, vitamin C tablet supplementation was selected because of the relatively rapid response time as compared with other prevention methods. A three-month course of vitamin C tablets was distributed to 827 villages in at-risk areas. The tablets were acceptable and compliance was good. No cases of scurvy were reported for the winter of 2002-03. The case study from Afghanistan demonstrates that scurvy can occur in nonrefugee or nondisplaced populations; vitamin C supplementation can be an effective prevention strategy; there is an urgent need to develop field-friendly techniques to diagnose micronutrient-deficiency diseases; food-security tools should be used to assess and predict risks of nutritional deficiencies; and the humanitarian community should address prevention of scurvy in outbreak-prone areas.  相似文献

During the design of a new building or retrofitting of an existing one, it is important to reliably assess the indoor humidity levels of the building as it can potentially affect the building envelope durability, occupants’ comfort and health risks associated with mould growth. Simplistic assumptions of indoor humidity profiles, which ignore the dynamic coupling of the indoor environment and building enclosure, may lead to inaccurate conclusions about the indoor environment and moisture performance of the building enclosure. In this paper, a whole-building hygrothermal model called HAMFitPlus, which takes into account the dynamic interactions between building envelope components, mechanical systems and indoor heat and moisture generation mechanisms, is used to assess the indoor humidity condition of an existing occupied house. HAMFitPlus is developed on SimuLink development platform and integrates COMSOL multiphysics with MatLab. The basic input parameters of the model are discussed in detail, and its simulation results are presented. In general, the HAMFitPlus simulation results are in good agreement with the measured data.  相似文献

Abstract:   It is well known that coordinated, area-wide traffic signal control provides great potential for improvements in delays, safety, and environmental measures. However, an aspect of this problem that is commonly neglected in practice is the potentially confounding effect of drivers re-routing in response to changes in travel times on competing routes, brought about by the changes to the signal timings. This article considers the problem of optimizing signal green and cycle timings over an urban network, in such a way that the optimization anticipates the impact on traffic routing patterns. This is achieved by including a network equilibrium model as a constraint to the optimization. A Genetic Algorithm (GA) is devised for solving the resulting problem, using total travel time across the network as an illustrative fitness function, and with a widely used traffic simulation-assignment model providing the equilibrium flows. The procedure is applied to a case study of the city of Chester in the UK, and the performance of the algorithms is analyzed with respect to the parameters of the GA method. The results show a better performance of the signal timing as optimized by the GA method as compared to a method that does not consider rerouting. This improvement is found to be more significant with a more congested network whereas under a relatively mild congestion situation the improvement is not very clear.  相似文献

Renal hyperparathyroidism is one of the main and serious complications that occur in chronic kidney disease and particularly during long‐term maintenance dialysis. Several recent trials indicate that a high calcium phosphorus product is correlated with high cardiovascular morbidity and mortality and poor outcome. Thus, it is important to improve the control of hyperparathyroidism in chronic renal failure patients. Several methods have been reported for treating severe hyperparathyroidism resistant to medical therapy. Total parathyroidectomy and transplantation or excision of tumor is considered as the treatment of choice. More recently, interventional methods with percutaneous ethanol or calcitriol injection have been developed. These latter techniques have been reported as an alternative to surgical treatment for patients with high perioperative risk. We report the occurrence of laryngeal recurrent nerve palsy, vocal fold paralysis, and hemiplegia after a successful injection of ethanol in a left parathyroid adenoma in a maintenance hemodialysis patient and discuss the restrictions of the procedure and alternative treatments in view of the available studies.  相似文献

In this work, microstructure, mechanical properties and formability of cryorolled and annealed AA5083 alloy sheets have been characterized and a comparison has been made with cold rolled and annealed sheets. Five-millimeter-thick sheets of this alloy were cryorolled in multiple passes to a final thickness of 1 mm (80% reduction with a true strain of 1.6). Effect of annealing time and temperature on hardness has been studied, and it has been found that a short annealing at 275 °C for 15 min after cryorolling would yield a good combination of strength and ductility. Microstructural investigations showed that the cryorolled and short annealed samples possess bimodal grain structure which is responsible for better mechanical properties than cold rolled sheets. From the experimentally determined forming limit diagrams, the limit strains of cryorolled sheets have been found to be almost equal to conventional cold rolled and annealed sheets in all modes of deformation. No major differences have been found in strain distribution also. This work clearly demonstrates that cryorolling of AA5083 alloy sheets followed by a short annealing with bimodal grain structure can be used for sheet metal forming applications with higher strength and toughness than conventional sheets without any reduction in formability.  相似文献

Transit assignment models represent the stochastic nature of waiting times, but usually adopt a deterministic representation route flows and costs. Especially in cities where transit vehicles are small and not operating to timetables, there is a need to represent the variability in flows and costs to enable planners make more informed decisions. Stochastic process (SP) models consider the day-to-day dynamics of the transit demand-supply system, explicitly modelling passengers’ information acquisition and decision processes. A Monte Carlo simulation based SP model that includes strict capacity constraints is presented in this paper. It uses micro-simulation to constrain passenger flows to capacities and obtain realistic cost estimates. Applications of the model and its comparison with the De Cea and Fernandez (Transp Sci, 27:133–147, 1993) model are presented using a small network.  相似文献
