Wood fibres constitute the structural framework of e.g. wood, paper, board and composites, where stiffness and dimensional stability are of importance. An analytical modelling approach has been used for prediction of hygroelastic response, and assessment of the stresses in thick-walled cylinder models of wood fibres. A wood fibre was idealised as a multilayered hollow cylinder made of orthotropic material with helical orientation. The hygroelastic response of the layered assembly due to axisymmetric loading and moisture content changes was obtained by solving the corresponding boundary value problem of elasticity. A simple solution scheme based on the state space approach and the transfer matrix method was employed. This was combined with an analytical ultrastructural homogenisation method, used to link hygroelastic properties of constituent wood polymers to properties of each layer. Predicted hygroelastic response captured experimentally measured behaviour. Fibres that were constrained not to twist showed a stiffer response than fibres allowed twisting under uniaxial loading. It was also shown that the ultrastructure, i.e. the microfibril angle, will control the hygroexpansion in the same way as it controls the compliance of the cell wall. Qualitative failure trends comparable with experimental observations could be established with stress analysis and a simple plane-stress failure criterion.  相似文献

This paper describes a highly digitized direct conversion receiver of a single-chip quadruple-band RF transceiver that meets GSM/GPRS and EDGE requirements. The chip uses an advanced 0.25-/spl mu/m BiCMOS technology. The I and Q on-chip fifth-order single-bit continuous-time sigma-delta (/spl Sigma//spl Delta/) ADC has 84-dB dynamic range over a total bandwidth of /spl plusmn/135 kHz for an active area of 0.4 mm/sup 2/. Hence, most of the channel filtering is realized in a CMOS IC where digital processing is achieved at a lower cost. The systematic analysis of dc offset at each stage of the design enables to perform the dc offset cancellation loop in the digital domain as well. The receiver operates at 2.7 V with a current consumption of 75 mA. A first-order substrate coupling analysis enables to optimize the floor plan strategy. As a result, the receiver has an area of 1.8 mm/sup 2/.  相似文献

An experiment was conducted to elucidate the origin of tetraploids (2n = 4x = 44) of Paragonimus westermani that occur together with diploid (2n = 2x = 22) and triploid (2n = 3x = 33) types in Liaoning Province, the People's Republic of China. Metacercariae of the diploid type, obtained from Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, and those of the triploid type from Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, were mixed and inoculated into dogs and cats. The following results were obtained. The flukes were found in pairs within cysts in random combinations of 2x + 2x, 2x + 3x, and 3x + 3x (7:15:7). Oocytes in the oviduct were at stages from diplotene to metaphase. In a triploid fluke encysted with a diploid fluke, the primary oocytes were intruded by sperms from the diploid fluke. In the primary oocytes of diploid as well as triploid flukes, from diplotene to diakinesis, the homologues of the nucleolar chromosomes were heteromorphic as far as the size of the short arm was concerned. This implies that the triploid is an autotriploid generated in an ancestral diploid population that was polymorphic for the nucleolar chromosome.  相似文献

Node cooperation in hybrid ad hoc networks   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
A hybrid ad hoc network is a structure-based network that is extended using multihop communications. Indeed, in this kind of network, the existence of a communication link between the mobile station and the base station is not required: A mobile station that has no direct connection with a base station can use other mobile stations as relays. Compared with conventional (single-hop) structure-based networks, this new generation can lead to a better use of the available spectrum and to a reduction of infrastructure costs. However, these benefits would vanish if the mobile nodes did not properly cooperate and forward packets for other nodes. In this paper, we propose a charging and rewarding scheme to encourage the most fundamental operation, namely packet forwarding. We use "MAC layering" to reduce the space overhead in the packets and a stream cipher encryption mechanism to provide "implicit. authentication" of the nodes involved in the communication. We analyze the robustness of our protocols against rational and malicious attacks. We show that-using our solution-collaboration is rational for selfish nodes. We also show that our protocols thwart rational attacks and detect malicious attacks.  相似文献

Surgical therapy has become an important therapeutic alternative for patients with medically intractable epilepsy. Correct and anatomically precise localization of an epileptic focus is essential to decide if resection of brain tissue is possible. The inverse problem in EEG-based source localization is to determine the location of the brain sources that are responsible for the measured potentials at the scalp electrodes. We propose a new global optimization method based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) to solve the epileptic spike EEG source localization inverse problem. In a forward problem a modified subtraction method is proposed to reduce the computational time. The good accuracy and fast convergence are demonstrated for 2D and 3D cases with realistic head models. The results from the new method are promising for use in the pre-surgical clinic in the future.  相似文献

A comparatively simple way to generate time series of atmospherically distorted wave fronts is described and tested. Temporal power spectra of Zernike aberrations, extracted from the time series, agree very well with theoretical predictions. A method for generation of longer time series is also shown to give results in accordance with theory, except for the lowest temporal frequencies modeled. A way to superimpose several time series of wave fronts to generate a multilayer model of the atmosphere is briefly discussed.  相似文献

The importance of traceability in software development has long been recognized, not only for reasons of legality and certification, but also to enable the development itself. At the same time, organizations are known to struggle to live up to traceability requirements, and there is an identified lack of studies on traceability practices in the industry, not least in the area of tooling and infrastructure. This paper presents, investigates and discusses Eiffel, an industry developed solution designed to provide real time traceability in continuous integration and delivery. The traceability needs of industry professionals are also investigated through interviews, providing context to that solution. It is then validated through further interviews, a comparison with previous traceability methods and a review of literature. It is found to address the identified traceability needs and found in some cases to reduce traceability data acquisition times from days to minutes, while at the same time alternatives offering comparable functionality are lacking. In this work, traceability is shown not only to be an important concern to engineers, but also regarded as a prerequisite to successful large scale continuous integration and delivery. At the same time, promising developments in technical infrastructure are documented and clear differences in traceability mindset between separate industry projects is revealed.  相似文献

This paper describes the design of a new kind of miniature abrading sphere, which is magnetically mounted inside a spherical gap and set in rotation pneumatically with air. Large eddy simulation is performed in conjunction with the compressible Smagorinsky model. Minimal temperature variation allows for the assumption of adiabatic walls. Fluid-solid interaction is modeled using the law of the wall for compressible turbulent flow. A parametric study is done to determine optimal geometric layout while taking physical restrictions into account. The resulting optimal configuration is then examined in detail in order to determine demands to be met by the computerized control of the magnetic bearing as well as to quantify the force available to the abrasion process. Finally, a mathematical relation is given that determines available abrasion force depending on standard volumetric flow rate and rotation frequency. The findings presented here provide a basis for further development of smaller versions of the tool.  相似文献

Materials that respond to physiological stimuli are important in developing advanced biomaterials for modern therapies. The reversibility of covalent crosslinks formed by phenylboronate (PBA) and salicylhydroxamate (SHA) has been exploited to provide a pH‐responsive gel for application to the vaginal tract. Dynamic rheology reveals that the gel frequency‐dependent viscoelastic properties are modulated by pH. At pH 4.8 the viscous component dominates throughout most of the frequency range. As the pH increases, the characteristic relaxation time continues to increase while the GPlateau levels off above pH 6. At pH 7.5, the elastic component dominates throughout the frequency sweep and is predominately independent of frequency. Particle tracking assesses the transport of both fluorescently labeled HIV‐1 and 100‐nm latex particles in the PBA–SHA crosslinked gel as a function of pH. At pH 4.8 the ensemble‐averaged mean squared displacement at lag times greater than three seconds reveals that transport of the HIV‐1 and 100‐nm particles becomes significantly impeded by the matrix, exhibiting diffusion coefficients less than 0.0002 µm2 s?1. This pH‐responsive gel thus displays properties that have the potential to significantly reduce the transport of HIV‐1 to susceptible tissues and thus prevent the first stage of male‐to‐female transmission of HIV‐1.  相似文献

The relation of problem-solving confidence, perceived tolerance of stressors, and situation-specific coping efforts to occupational burnout was examined among 88 nurses in physical rehabilitation units. Participants completed measures of problem solving and burnout, and were administered a questionnaire that required them to list stressors encountered at work and their ability to tolerate this stressor. Participants were also asked to list their typical ways of coping with this stressor. Consistent with predictions, confidence in one's ability to handle problems and perceived tolerance were significantly predictive of lower burnout scores, regardless of time spent on the job. Of the coping variables, emotion-focused coping was significantly associated with higher burnout scores. Post-hoc analyses of self-reported coping activities indicated that some coping efforts (e.g., taking time off from work, confronting a supervisor) could be construed as symptoms of burnout, according to theoretical conceptualizations.
