Patch recovery based on superconvergent derivatives and equilibrium (SPRE), an enhancement of the Superconvergent Patch Recovery (SPR), is studied for linear elasticity problems. The paper also presents a further improvement for recovery of derivatives near boundaries, SPREB, where either tractions or displacements are prescribed. This is made by inclusion of weighted residual errors at boundary points in the patch recovery. A pronounced improvement in the post processed gradients of the finite element solution is observed by this method.  相似文献

The use, within satellite communications, of low rate encoding (LRE) techniques, based on 24, 32 and 40 kb/s ADPCM coding, coupled with digital speech interpolation (DSI) to form a digital circuit multiplication equipment (DCME), is addressed in this paper. The need for a system simulation tool, in order to plan for and correctly use the DCME concept is identified. Results obtained with this simulation tool are presented. The simulation model makes it possible to predict the behaviour of the system from a quality point of view, with external conditions simulated to be very close to actual operating conditions.  相似文献

In most plate elements using the Reissner-Mindlin assumptions, the interpolations used for the lateral displacements (w) and the rotation (θ) involve the independent representation of each variable by its nodal values, usually with identical interpolations. To ensure a higher order of expansion for displacement w its representation is linked in the present paper with both sets of nodal variables. Conditions necessary for the use of such expansions are established here and the paper shows the development of a linear quadrilateral element (Q4BL) whose performance and robustness are good (although it possesses one singularity if only three degrees of freedom are prescribed). In Part II we apply the identical formulation to develop a triangular element (T3BL) which performs equally well and is fully robust.  相似文献

In this paper a postprocessing technique is developed for determining first-order derivatives (fluxes, stresses) at nodal points based on derivatives in superconvergent points. It is an extension of the superconvergent patch recovery technique presented by Zienkiewicz and Zhu. In contrast to that technique all flux or stress components are interpolated at the same time, coupled by equilibrium equations at the superconvergent points. The equilibrium equations and use of one order higher degree of interpolation polynomials of stress give a dramatic decrease in error of recovered derivatives even at boundaries.  相似文献

The influence of bed-region stoichiometric ratio and fuel nitrogen content on the formation of gaseous species formed during grate combustion of biomass fuels is reported based on gas measurements made within the fuel bed. Three fuels were studied: two mixtures of pelletized bark and wood chips and one of pelletized straw. Experiments were performed in a vertical, cylindrical, laboratory-scale grate-furnace with 0.245 m i.d. and 1.8 m height. Primary air was supplied through a grate consisting of a steel plate with 340 holes of 3.7 mm diameter. Secondary air was supplied 0.66 m above the grate. Gas analysis was performed for O2, CO2, CO, H2 and NO. Results were compared with values calculated using a computer program for thermochemical equilibrium conditions. The measured contents of O2, CO2, CO and H2 show good agreement with calculated equilibrium conditions at all bed region stoichiometries. A higher formation of NO was found for the straw fuel (0.58% fuel nitrogen) than for the bark/wood chip fuels (≈0.25% fuel nitrogen). This is not in accordance with the thermochemical equilibrium calculations indicating that the formation of nitric oxide does not attain thermochemical equilibrium and that the nitrogen content of the fuel has an influence on the amount of NO that is formed. The fuel nitrogen conversion to NO ranged from 3 to 20% at reducing conditions and from 20 to 40% at bed region stoichiometries between 1.00 and 1.25.  相似文献

Use of mixed force and displacement variables may be the key to a reliable solution of many physical problems. For the analysis of elastic structures with large rigid motion the displacement method may fail due to illconditioning, but use of mixed variables (diacoptics) may work due to the possibility of using relative displacements within substructures. Analysis with mixed variables complicates the topology (the number of nodes and the number of variables at the nodes may vary in the same problem) so a careful study of the system analysis is required. Some general computer routines are given for handling topology, merging and solution of the sparse system equation. The solution routine handles constraints in a rational way and can also be used for decomposition of the system equation or for releasing inner nodes in superelements.  相似文献

The solution of the system of equilibrium equations is the most time-consuming part in large-scale finite element computations of plasticity problems. The development of efficient solution methods are therefore of utmost importance to the field of computational plasticity. Traditionally, direct solvers have most frequently been used. However, recent developments of iterative solvers and preconditioners may impose a change. In particular, preconditioning by the multigrid technique is especially favorable in FE applications.The multigrid preconditioner uses a number of nested grid levels to improve the convergence of the iterative solver. Prolongation of fine-grid residual forces is done to coarser grids and computed corrections are interpolated to the fine grid such that the fine-grid solution successively is improved. By this technique, large 3D problems, invincible for solvers based on direct methods, can be solved in acceptable time at low memory requirements. By means of a posteriori error estimates the computational grid could successively be refined (adapted) until the solution fulfils a predefined accuracy level. In contrast to procedures where the preceding grids are erased, the previously generated grids are used in the multigrid algorithm to speed up the solution process.The paper presents results using the adaptive multigrid procedure to plasticity problems. The following article summarizes the development of the base flow technique in Sweden. Extensive theoretical and experimental studies have been made in cooperation between the Research Institute of National Defence (FOA) and the Swedish Naval Materiel Department (FMV-M). Base Bleed gives a significant increase in range and reduces the dispersion. The increase in range is obviously depending on the volume made available for the unit. At firing tests an increase in range of 25% has been achieved due to the base flow effect.  相似文献

A scanning laser Doppler vibrometer is used to record two-dimensional ultrasound fields in air. The laser light of the vibrometer traverses the sound field to and from a rigid reflector and determines the velocity field, a quantity proportional to the sound pressure rate, in each scanned point relative to the sound source. The object sound is the scattered field from objects outside the recording area. Digital reconstruction by use of phase conjugation (time reversal) of the object sound field is then performed, and the original object field intensity and phase is reconstructed.  相似文献

Fourteen clones of willow (Salix spp.) were characterised in terms of growth, nitrogen and water-use efficiency under different irrigation and fertilisation treatments. Cuttings of willow clones, some commercially introduced and others new material, were pot-grown outdoors in Central Sweden under four experimental treatments in a full-factorial design. The experiment covered the period from bud-break until leaf abscission and the experimental conditions included two irrigation and two fertilisation regimes. The growth of the clones was evaluated in terms of relative growth rate and total biomass production of whole plants and shoots. Nitrogen (N) economy was studied by means of N productivity, N accumulation and N losses by leaf abscission. Water economy was analysed with respect to intrinsic water-use efficiency (foliar carbon isotope ratio; δ13C) and the capacity of leaves to retain water (relative water content). Significant differences between clones were found in nearly all parameters measured and the clones varied in the responses to the experimental treatments (clone × factor interaction effects). Thus, clone ranking often changed depending on the experimental treatment. The results are discussed with respect to clone selection for different willow applications such as biomass production and phytoremediation, and willow growth performance under different water and nutrient availabilities. The growth-physiological characterisation of young willows in the short term (several months) is regarded as a suitable approach for pre-selection of promising clones prior to extensive field evaluation.  相似文献
