2-Hydroxy-1,4-napthoquinone(lawsone) natural red-orange dye was extracted from fresh henna(Lawsonia inermis) leaves in an alkaline media.The lawsone-surfactant solubilization constants(K_(LS))were calculated for the first time by using cationic cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) and anionic sodium dodecyl sulphate(SDS).The standard free energy,concentration of solubilized lawsone and number of lawsone molecules solubilized into micelles were calculated and discussed.Surface excess,minimum surface area per molecule,surface pressure,free energy(adsorption and aggregation) and equilibrium constants of different states were determined from tensiometry.Different metal ions(Ag~+,Co~(2+),Cu~(2+),Ni~(2+),Fe~(3+),Zn~(2+) and Al~(3+)) were used to determine the complex forming ability with lawsone.Out of these,Ag~+ ions have strong binding capacity with lawsone.The adsorption of lawsone on the surface of glass with silver ions in presence of CTAB was also observed at pH 9.0.The pseudo-first, secondorder kinetic equation,intraparticles diffusion and Elovich models were used to determine the kinetics of lawsone adsorption onto the surface of glass and a probable mechanism has been discussed.Lawsone adsorption followed second-order kinetic equation(k_2=0.019 g·mg~(-1)·min~(-1)).  相似文献

This study is a cross validation of the previous work by Greffenstein, Baker, and Gola (1994) and Greiffenstein, Gola, and Baker (1995) on the Reliable Digits (RD) method of detecting possible malingering. This study consisted of 47 mild brain-injured litigating and 49 mild brain-injured non-litigating participants. The result of this study was that only 4.1% of the non-litigating participants were classified as malingering by RD, while 48.9% of the litigating participants were classified as malingering by RD. Comparing litigating participants' performance on a forced choice task with their RD revealed that 77.8% (7/9) who failed the forced choice task also failed RD. RD classified more litigating patients as malingering than did the forced choice task and none of the non-litigating participants failed forced choice. These findings underscore the previous recommendations of Greiffenstein et al. (1994, 1995), that it is important to assess motivation on specific neuropsychological tests and that motivation on neuropsychological tests is not an all or none phenomenon.  相似文献

Electromechanical coupling correction for piezoelectric layered beams   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper deals with the bending of layered piezoelectric beams (multimorphs) subjected to arbitrary electrical and mechanical loading. Weinberg (1999) obtained a closed-form solution to this problem using Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and integrated equilibrium equations. In his analysis, Weinberg assumes that the electric field is constant through the thickness of the piezoelectric layers. This approximation is valid for materials with small electromechanical coupling (EMC) coefficients. In this paper, we relax this constraint and obtain a solution which accounts for the effect of strain on the electric field in the layers. We find that Weinberg's solution can be extended to arbitrary EMC with a simple correction to the moment of inertia I of the piezoelectric layers. The EMC correction amounts to replacing I with (1+/spl xi/)I, where /spl xi/ is the square of the expedient coupling coefficient. The error in beam curvature introduced by neglecting the effect of EMC is shown to be proportional to /spl xi/. This effect can be quite significant for modern piezoelectric materials which tend to have large EMC coefficients. The formulation is applied to three example cases: a cantilever unimorph, an asymmetric bimorph and a three-layer multimorph with an elastic core. The theoretical predictions for the last two examples are compared to simulations using the finite-element method (FEM) and found to be in excellent agreement.  相似文献

New titanosilicates of various framework topologies were synthesized using TEAOH template. This Ivanyukite (Na2[Ti4O2(OH)2(SiO4)3]•6H2O) and Sitinakite (H4.04Na1.64O8.84SiTi2) zeolites were synthesized hydrothermally and considered to be under Pharmacosiderite phases. Various conditions were investigated (i.e temperature, aging time and alkalinity), and the success was examined by using XRD, IR and SEM technologies. Due to the large effect of dyes on pollution and their toxicity, Malachite green dye used. The photocatalytic effect of the prepared zeolites were studied in the decomposition of dye, and it was found with high photocatalytic activity may approach 96%.  相似文献

To reduce bacterial growth and to ensure the quality and safety of food products, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration advise consumers to clean their refrigerators regularly, use a refrigerator thermometer, and keep refrigerator temperatures at 40 degrees F (4.4 degrees C) or below. We conducted a nationally representative Web-enabled survey (n = 2,060) to collect data on refrigerator thermometer ownership, home refrigerator temperatures, and the frequency of home refrigerator cleaning. We stratified the sample to provide results for pregnant women, older adults (60 years or older), and the remaining population. About half of all respondents had cleaned their refrigerators at least 1 month before the survey. Only 11% of all respondents had a thermometer in their refrigerator before the survey. Older adults (77.5%) were more likely than the remaining population (70.4%) to have their refrigerators at the recommended temperature (P < 0.01). Older adults who were not married and who lived alone were less likely to have refrigerator thermometers and to have their refrigerators at a recommended temperature (P < 0.05). For all respondents, those who had previously owned a refrigerator thermometer were more likely to have their refrigerators at the recommended temperature than were respondents who did not previously own a thermometer (P < 0.01). Food safety educators can use the survey findings and results of previous research to target educational materials and help consumers, especially those at risk for listeriosis, to safely store refrigerated foods at home.  相似文献

The theoretical analysis and the developed design criteria for TIL GTO thyristors presented in the first part of this study (Paper I) are validated experimentally. The TO-220-packaged, high-voltage (VDRM = VRRM = 1000–1500 V) test TIL GTOs had a total cathode area of 8 mm2, of which the area of deep-diffused cathode zones amounted to 3.5 mm2. The implementation of optimized technological/geometrical ratios for TIL gate-cathode configuration yielded TIL GTO thyristors with a maximum controllable anode current of 55 A, which is the highest value of IATO reported thus far in the open literature for this class of GTOs (identical device area and case). All technological factors and physical effects underlying this achievement are analyzed in detail in this work. The current balancing between the two types of elementary p-n-p-n sections (standard and quasi-nonregenerative) constituting the vertical structure of the novel device is checked experimentally and the impact of this peculiar effect on current-handling capability of TIL GTOs is assessed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The boost of IATO up to its limits, ultimately dictated by the thermal impedance junction-to-case Zthj?c TO-220-packages, was accompanied by a significant increase of the peak turn-off gain (10–20) of these devices at higher levels of anode current and by failure-safe operation of TIL GTOs at high commutation frequencies (up to hundreds of kHz) under heavy load conditions. The developed devices possess an excellent turn-on sensitivity and a high immunity to noise (high dV/dt capability). All the results of this work show clearly that sought-for benefits could be obtained by using the optimized double-interdigitated (TIL) gate-cathode pattern in GTO thyristors. This paper presents an algorithm for implementing a k-valued regular register (the logical register) using binary regular registers (the physical registers) that requires only one physical write per logical write. The same algorithm using binary atomic registers implements a k-valued atomic register. The algorithm is simple to describe and depends on properties of paths in a related graph. Two lower bounds are given on the number of registers required by one-write implementations in the regular case. The first lower bound, , holds for a fairly general class of algorithms. The second lower bound holds for a restricted class of implementations and implies that our algorithm is optimal for this class. Both lower bounds improve on the best previously known lower bound, which was k. The two lower bounds also hold for the atomic case under further restrictions. Received: 9 June 2000  相似文献

Using a combination of iterative structure-based design and an analysis of oral pharmacokinetics and antiviral activity, AG1343 (Viracept, nelfinavir mesylate), a nonpeptidic inhibitor of HIV-1 protease, was identified. AG1343 is a potent enzyme inhibitor (Ki = 2 nM) and antiviral agent (HIV-1 ED50 = 14 nM). An X-ray cocrystal structure of the enzyme-AG1343 complex reveals how the novel thiophenyl ether and phenol-amide substituents of the inhibitor interact with the S1 and S2 subsites of HIV-1 protease, respectively. In vivo studies indicate that AG1343 is well absorbed orally in a variety of species and possesses favorable pharmacokinetic properties in humans. AG1343 (Viracept) has recently been approved for marketing for the treatment of AIDS.  相似文献

A new class of PANI/Sn(II)SiO3/FCNTs nanocomposite was synthesized by mixing polyaniline into the gel of Sn(II)SiO3 followed by FCNTs (Polyaniline/Sn(II)SiO3/Functionalized Carbon nanotubes). The physico-chemical characterization was carried out by scanning electron microscope, XRD (X-ray Diffraction), FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, and simultaneous thermogravimetric analysis studies. The ion-exchange capacity (1.2 meq/g) and distribution studies were also determined to understand the ion-exchange capabilities. The DC electrical conductivity studies revile it in the range of 3–5 × 10?3 S/cm. On the basis of distribution studies, ion-selective membrane electrode was designed for Hg(II). The analytical utility of this membrane was established by using it as an indicator electrode in electrometric titrations.  相似文献
