This study examined whether patients with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) related to motor vehicle accidents (MVAs) would show an abnormal pattern of electroencephalographic (EEG) alpha asymmetries, which has been proposed for particular types of anxiety. Patients with PTSD (n = 22) or subsyndromal PTSD (n = 21), traumatized controls without PTSD (non-PTSD with MVA; n = 21), and healthy controls without MVA (n = 23) underwent measurement of EEG activity during baseline and exposure to a neutral, a positive, a negative, and an accident-related picture. Differences in brain asymmetry between groups were observed only during exposure to trauma-related material. PTSD and subsyndromal PTSD patients showed a pattern of enhanced right anterior and posterior activation, whereas non-PTSD with MVA participants showed the opposite pattern. Furthermore, posterior asymmetry in nontraumatized healthy controls varied with gender, with female participants showing a pattern of higher right posterior activation. The results support the hypothesis that symptomatic MVA survivors are characterized by a pattern of right hemisphere activation that is associated with anxious arousal and symptoms of PTSD during processing of trauma-specific information. A series of 5-keto-substituted 7-tert-buty1-2,3-dihydro-3,3- dimethylbenzofurans (DHDMBFs) were prepared and evaluated as potential nonsteroidal antiinflammatory and analgesic agents. Interest in this class of compounds arose when a DHDMBF was found to be an active metabolite of the di-tert-butylphenol antiinflammatory agent tebufelone. We have now found that a variety of 5-keto-substituted DHDMBFs have good in vivo antiinflammatory and analgesic activity after oral administration. These compounds inhibit both cyclooxygenase (COX) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) in vitro. The cyclooxygenase inhibition was found to be selective for the cyclooxygenase-2 isoform, and this combination of COX-2/5-LOX inhibition may be responsible for the gastrointestinal safety of compounds such as 30.  相似文献

In this study, we examined the psychometric properties of the 33-item Posttraumatic Cognitions Inventory (Foa, Ehlers, Clark, Tolin, & Orsillo, 1999) in 213 individuals with accident-related trauma and 190 individuals with interpersonal trauma. Confirmatory factor analyses generally supported the scale's original three-factor structure—Negative Cognitions About Self (SELF), Negative Cognitions About World (WORLD), and Self-Blame (BLAME)—after four redundant items were excluded. However, in line with previous findings, results for BLAME remained inconclusive because the scale performed poorly with the individuals with accident-related trauma, whereas its fit with those with interpersonal trauma was acceptable. BLAME might possibly relate to trauma type. Our results indicate that the proposed 29-item version shows acceptable psychometric properties and that the role of BLAME should be further investigated. This paper presents modelling results for a new pressurised fluidised bed gasifier concept, called the Power High-Temperature Winkler gasifier (PHTW gasifier). The numerical simulation of the steam/oxygen blown and lignite-fuelled power plant gasifier is performed on the 4800 t/day (1000 MW) at a pressure of 33 bar. The formation of flow pattern, turbulence, product gas composition, temperature, and radiation heat transfer were investigated. Influence of diameter variation on the flow patterns at constant operating conditions is presented. A comparison between the calculation and literature data of similar fluidised bed systems shows good conformance. To anticipate the solid's behaviour, particle concentration, particle size change due to pyrolysis and surface reactions, and particle tracks were modelled using an Eulerian–Lagrangian approach. While varying the total particle mass flow, the pressure drop as a function of reactor height was observed.  相似文献

This paper presents the integration of the Kalina cycle process in a combined heat and power plant for improvement of efficiency. In combined heat and power plants, the heat of flue gases is often available at low temperatures. This low-grade waste heat cannot be used for steam production and therefore power generation by a conventional steam cycle. Moreover, the steam supply for the purpose of heating is mostly exhausted, and therefore the waste heat at a low-grade temperature is not usable for heating. If other measures to increase the efficiency of a power plant process, like feed-water heating or combustion air heating, have been exhausted, alternative ways to generate electricity like the Kalina cycle process offer an interesting option. This process maximizes the generated electricity with recovery of heat and without demand of additional fuels by integration in existing plants. The calculations show that the net efficiency of an integrated Kalina plant is between 12.3% and 17.1% depending on the cooling water temperature and the ammonia content in the basic solution. The gross electricity power is between 320 and 440 kW for 2.3 MW of heat input to the process. The gross efficiency is between 13.5% and 18.8%.  相似文献
