Prefabricated, lightweight building elements are widely used in the building construction sector. Such elements consist of fibrous thermal insulation encapsulated between two metal sheets. Under various circumstances, moisture can appear in the insulation matrix. Since the temperature of the boundary metal sheets changes dynamically with meteorological conditions, heat and mass transfer between boundaries appear in this case. This paper presents a transient model of the heat and mass transfer, including the sorption and condensation processes. A numerical model considers the dynamical changing of the boundary temperatures. A parametric study considering different amplitudes of temperature change, different moisture masses and different thicknesses of the insulation matrix was made. It was found that a relatively small mass of water in the insulation matrix can result in a significantly increased average heat flux during a periodic cycle. The numerical code was verified with experiments, which showed good agreement with the numerics.  相似文献

An initiative was introduced in one of the production facilities of Germany’s E.G.O. Group in order to enhance its SAP information system with a custom-made application for production-scheduling optimization. The goal of the optimization is to find a production schedule that satisfies different, contradictory production and business constraints. We show the challenges faced in the application of the multi-objective optimization approach, which is gaining influence in the management of production scheduling. We implement a memetic version of the Indicator-Based Evolutionary Algorithm with customized reproduction operators and local search procedures to find a set of feasible, non-dominated solutions. Such a memetic algorithm was applied to two real order lists from the production company. Additionally, we also lay out an efficient presentation of the multi-objective results for an expert’s support in decision making. This provides the management with the possibility to gain additional insights into how the production schedule dynamically reacts to changes in the decision criteria. We show that the multi-objective approach is able to find high-quality solutions, which enables flexibility when it comes to quickly adapting to specific business conditions.  相似文献

During production of primary and secondary aluminum, various amounts (in some cases up to 200 kg) of aluminum dross, a mixture consisting of molten aluminum metal and different oxide compounds (the nonmetallic phase), are skimmed per tonne of molten metal. To preserve the maximum aluminum content in hot dross for further extraction, it is necessary to cool the dross immediately after skimming. One way to do this is to press the skimmed hot dross in a press. In this process, the skimmed dross is transformed into so-called pressed skulls, with characteristic geometry convenient for storage, transport, or further in-house processing. Because of its high aluminum content—usually between 30% and 70%—pressed skulls represent a valuable source of aluminum and hence are in great demand in the aluminum recycling industry. Because pressed skulls are generally valued on a free-metal recovery basis, which is influenced by the yield of recovery, or in other words, by the quality of the recycling process, it was recognized as important and useful to develop a method of fast and cost-effective nondestructive measurement of the free aluminum content in pressed skulls, independent of the technology of pressed skulls recycling. In the model developed in this work, the aluminum content in pressed skulls was expressed as a function of the pressed skulls density, the density of the nonmetallic phase, and the volume fraction of closed pores. In addition, the model demonstrated that under precisely defined conditions (i.e., skulls from the dross of the same aluminum alloy and skimmed, transported, cooled, and pressed in the same way and under the same processing conditions), when other parameters except the pressed skulls density remain constant, the aluminum content in pressed skulls can be expressed as a linear function of the pressed skulls density. Following the theoretical considerations presented in this work, a practical industrial methodology was developed for nondestructive prediction of the amount of free aluminum in pressed skulls w Al, based on nondestructive measurement of the density ρ of the pressed skulls. The pressed skulls density is measured by a fully automatic gas displacement pyknometer with a working volume large enough to enable the insertion of the whole pressed skull sample. An additional integral part of this methodology is the set of experimentally determined linear graphs w Al-ρ, plotted in advance for all classes of pressed skulls existing in the plant, from the experimentally collected data on pressed skulls density and aluminum recovery by melting. After selecting the proper graph w Al-ρ, which is usually performed on an aluminum alloy basis, the pyknometric measured density of the pressed skulls can be routinely related to the aluminum content sought, within a relative error of ±5%.  相似文献

The objective of this work was the development and validation of atomic absorption spectrometric (AAS) methods for the determination of residual active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) in rinse samples for cleaning validation. AAS as an indirect method for the determination of API in rinse samples can be applied when it is in the form of salt with metal ions or when the metal ion is a part of the API's structure. The electrothermal AAS methods (aqueous and ethanol medium) for the determination of magnesium in esomeprazole magnesium and the flame AAS method for the determination of lithium in lithium carbonate in rinse samples were developed. Various combinations of solvents were tested and a combination of 1% aqueous or ethanol solution of nitric acid for esomeprazole magnesium and 0.1% aqueous solution of nitric acid for lithium carbonate were found to be the most suitable. The atomization conditions in the graphite furnace and in the flame were carefully studied to avoid losses of analyte and to achieve suitable sensitivity. The cleaning verification methods were validated with respect to accuracy, precision, linearity, limit of detection, and quantification. In all the cases, the limits of detection were at the microgram level. The methods were successfully applied for the determination of esomeprazole magnesium and lithium carbonate in rinse samples from cleaning procedures.  相似文献

Three different modes of sample excitation in X-ray emission spectroscopy were used in trace element analysis of coal and coal ash: proton beam, Mo X-ray tube and radioactive sources 57Co and 109Cd. The results of analysis are presented and methods and their possibilities are compared in order to indicate the most appropriate technique for the particular purpose.  相似文献

Methanol is natural ingredient of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks; however, the products of its metabolic transformations (formaldehyde and formic acid) are toxic to humans. The aim of this research was to assess the application of different physico‐chemical treatments of pomace in order to find the most efficient method for reducing the methanol during fermentation with the least effect on the sensory properties of the wine. The following procedures were studied: addition of tannins in pomace, addition of phenolic acids, addition of d ‐galacturonic and pectic acid, use of bentonite and zeolite, heat treatment of pomace, thermosonication and treatment of pomace with microwaves. Fruit wine used in this study was produced from plums (Prunus domestica L.). Applied treatments showed variable efficiency in reduction of methanol formation in plum wine. It may be noted that the procedures that involved some form of thermal treatment were characterized by a significant decrease in the production of methanol (up to 60–70%) but mostly tended to have a negative impact on the sensory properties of the produced wines. However, exposure of pomace to microwaves for a short time, owing to the contribution of mechanisms of non‐thermal nature (kinetic and chemical), allowed for a significant reduction in methanol formation with a negligible impact on the sensory properties. The decrease in methanol formation during fermentation using tannins, pectic acid, bentonite and zeolite was poor, with only a reduction of up to 15%. Obtained results are significant to the fruit wine and spirit industry, considering the common problem related to an increased content of methanol in these beverages. A tannins-rich chestnut extract was used to enhance the antioxidant and antibacterial properties of chitosan-based film materials. The favourable mechanical properties of the novel material enabled its application in the preparation of the sachets that were used for packing and storage of filled fresh pasta. The fresh pasta ageing progressed in conventional refrigerated storage conditions of 8 °C with 60 ± 2% relative humidity in the absence of light for 60 days. The rapid moisture mobility between a starchy food and sachets during the first 9 days of storage induced retrogradation of the fresh pasta, whereby total phenolic content show dependency on moisture throughout the shelf life. Active components within the sachet prevented microbial growth on the food surface during the entire 60 days.  相似文献

School reform (SR) must be systemic, coherent, and expect accountability for student progress. SR must ensure that all of its component parts are in alignment. Professionals involved in education (ED) must work collaboratively in new ways to effect reform. Psychologists are key to such collaboration. Two decades of SR have taught us lessons that lead to changes in the 30-yr-old legislation that authorizes the investments of federal funds in programs to help elementary and secondary school students achieve. Title I, the centerpiece of the Elementary and Secondary ED Act of 1965, as amended by the Improving America's Schools Act of 1994, is revamped to incorporate the lessons of local and state efforts to improve their schools. In addition, a movement toward establishing national goals of what students are expected to learn and be able to do at certain times in their educational development resulted in enactment of the Goals 2000: Educate America Act (1994). The US Department of ED has identified 5 themes for comprehensive ED improvement to be successful. It is the responsibility of all professionals involved in the educational process to commit themselves to be a part of, and a catalyst for, change to move our schools to ultimately provide a high-quality ED for all children.
