In this paper, we describe our new baseline for CSS-CdTe-CdS solar cells on 10 × 10 cm2 substrates. The deposition of the p-n junction and all the following steps were performed at the Institut für Festkörperphysik (IFK) in Jena. Using the new baseline, we are already able to produce solar cells with similar properties as commercial ones. In the batch type process, all manufacturing steps can be investigated separately. We employ Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and external quantum efficiency (EQE) measurements to characterise the structure of the bulk materials and interfaces. It is demonstrated that by RBS the front contact becomes accessible for thinned CdTe films. At the back contact, RBS spectra show a tellurium accumulation which is due to etching. This tellurium rich layer is confirmed by XRD with Rietveld refinement. The intermixing at the CdS-CdTe interface caused by the activation step is quantified by a bandgap determination based on EQE measurements. From the bandgap energy of the CdTe1 − xSx compound, we calculated the sulphur fraction x at the interface. XRD measurements imply that the activation step induces a (111) texture in CdTe. With regard to an improved manufacturing process, our cells are compared to industrial cells produced by Antec Solar Energy.  相似文献

In Rhodobacter sphaeroides, cytochrome c2 (cyt c2)-deficient mutants are photosynthetically incompetent (PS-). However, mutations which suppress the photosynthetic deficiency (spd mutations) of cyt c2 mutants increase the levels of a cyt c2 isoform, isocyt c2. To determine whether isocyt c2 was required for photosynthetic growth of Spd mutants, we used Tn5 mutagenesis to generate a PS- mutant (TP39) that lacks both cyt c2 and isocyt c2. DNA sequence analysis of wild-type DNA that restores isocyt c2 production and photosynthetic growth to TP39 indicates that it encodes the isocyt c2 structural gene, cycI. The Tn5 insertion in TP39 is approximately 1.5 kb upstream of cycI, and our results show that it is polar onto cycI. The cycI gene has been physically mapped to a region of chromosome I that is approximately 700 kb from the R. sphaeroides photosynthetic gene cluster. Construction of a defined cycI null mutant and complementation of several mutants with the cycI gene under the control of the cyt c2 promoter region indicate that an increase in the levels of isocyt c2 alone is necessary and sufficient for photosynthetic growth in the absence of cyt c2. The data are discussed in terms of the obligate role of isocyt c2 in cyt c2-independent photosynthesis of R. sphaeroides.  相似文献

Kefir, a slightly acidic fermented milk, is produced by adding lactic acid bacteria and yeasts, in the form of grains, to milk. The bacteria and yeasts present in the kefir grains are known to vary widely. Selective growth media and morphological and biochemical characteristics were used for the isolation and identification of the microbes present in the grains from eight different sources in South Africa. The kefir grains were activated in milk for only 24 h to prevent any changes in the microbial population of the grains. The microbial numbers varied between 6.4 × 104 and 8.5 × 10 8  cfu/g on the media selective for the bacterial species and between 1.5 × 10 5 and 3.7 × 10 8   cfu/g on the media selective for the yeast species. The bacterial genera that were identified included Lactobacillus , Leuconostoc and Lactococcus and the yeast genera included Zygosaccharomyces , Candida and Saccharomyces . The distribution frequencies of the microbes in the different grains were determined and most of the grains were dominated by two microbial species. No pediococci, acetic acid bacteria or propionibacteria were detected.  相似文献

Probiotic microorganisms in commercial yoghurts and other food products are currently identified by traditional methods such as growth on selective media, morphological and biochemical characteristics. In this study, PCR-based DGGE analysis was used for the rapid and accurate identification of probiotic microorganisms from South African yoghurts and lyophilized preparations in capsule and tablet form. To identify the microorganisms present in these products, the DGGE profiles obtained were compared to two reference markers (A and B) composed of five lactobacilli and seven Bifidobacterium species, respectively. The results obtained were confirmed by species-specific PCR, as well as sequence analyses of unknown bands not present in the reference markers. It was found that only 54.5% of the probiotic yoghurts contained the microorganisms stated on the label compared to only a third (33.3%) of the lyophilized probiotic products. Some Bifidobacterium species were incorrectly identified and various microorganisms were detected that were not listed on the label. Sequence analyses confirmed the presence of Streptococcus spp. other than the yoghurt starter, Streptococcus thermophilus, in some of these products and in some instances label information was vague and non-scientific. PCR-based DGGE analyses proved to be a valuable culture-independent approach for the rapid and specific identification of the microbial species present in South African probiotic products.  相似文献

A column material containing organophilic clay particles was developed for soil remediation. 2,4-dichlorophenol adsorption on aquifer material with an effective particle diameter d < 1 mm and various partially modified dioctadecyldimethylammonium–montmorillonite/aquifer material mixtures were studied under static and flow conditions. The 2,4-dichlorophenol adsorption on the aquifer material was negligible. On organoclay/aquifer material mixtures the adsorption capacity increased with increasing organoclay content and the adsorption isotherms could be fitted by the Freundlich equation. In columns filled with organoclay/aquifer material mixtures, the 2,4-dichlorophenol retardation increased with increasing organoclay content up to 1% (w / w). Above 1.5–2.0% (w / w) the permeability of the column material decreased. The HYDRUS_1D model, which solves the convection–dispersion equation for solute transport, was used in a forward and inverse mode to simulate 2,4-dichlorophenol breakthrough in the columns. The simulations revealed that 2,4-dichlorophenol transport exhibited an additional kinetic effect not observed in the batch experiments.  相似文献

Understanding the effect of time and temperature on the respiration rate (RR) of fresh-cut produce, towards the design of a suitable modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) system, requires an adequate mathematical model for prediction of RR as a function of both time and temperature. This study investigated the effect of temperature (5, 10, and 15 °C) and storage time (1 to 5 d) on the RR (R(O2) and R(CO2)) of 2 pomegranate cultivars (cv. "Acco" and "Herskawitz") fresh arils. R(O2) and R(CO2) were 3 to 4 folds significantly higher with increased temperature from 5 to 15 °C and were within the range of 2.51 to 7.59 mL/kg h and 2.72 to 9.01 mL/kg h, respectively, for both cultivars. At 15 °C R(CO2) increased significantly from 8.4 to 25.96 mL/kg h from day 1 to 5, respectively, while at 5 °C R(CO2) changed from 2.9 to 2.05 mL/kg h from day 1 to 5. Temperature had the greatest influence on RR and the interaction of time and temperature also significantly affected R(O2) and R(CO2). The respiratory quotient (RQ) estimated by linear regression was 0.98 at 95% significant level. The dependence of RR on temperature and time was accurately described with a combination of an Arrhenius-type and power equation model for and of fresh pomegranate arils.  相似文献

Alicyclobacillus species are thermo-acidophilic, endospore-forming bacteria that are able to survive pasteurisation and have been implicated in a number of spoilage incidents involving acidic foods and beverages. The aim of this study was to compare three isolation methods used for the detection of Alicyclobacillus acidoterrestris and to investigate the influence of incubation temperature on the growth of A. acidoterrestris and A. acidocaldarius. Peach juice samples inoculated with A. acidoterrestris K47 were analysed using either the International Federation of Fruit Juice Producers (IFU) Method No. 12 (Method A), which involved spread plating onto Bacillus acidoterrestris (BAT) agar at pH 4.0; Method B, which involved pour plating using potato dextrose agar (PDA) at pH 3.7; or Method C, which made use of membrane filtration followed by incubation on K agar at pH 3.7. The performance of the three methods differed significantly, with the IFU Method No. 12 recovering the highest percentage of cells at 75.97%, followed by Method B at 66.79% and Method C at 3.43%. These findings strengthen the proposal of the IFU for the use of the IFU Method No. 12 as a standard international method for the detection of Alicyclobacillus. To investigate the effect on growth of different incubation temperatures A. acidoterrestris (three strains) and A. acidocaldarius (two strains) were incubated at either 45 °C or 25 °C. Growth at 25 °C was slower and maximum cell concentrations were lower (1 × 105-106 cfu/mL compared to 1 × 107-108 cfu/mL) than at 45 °C for A. acidoterrestris. A. acidocaldarius was unable to grow at 25 °C and cell concentrations decreased by 1-2 logs. Since a growth temperature of 25 °C could not inhibit growth of A. acidoterrestris, cooling to room temperature (20°-25 °C) is not an effective control measure for A. acidoterrestris inhibition.  相似文献

One hundred eighteen Candida clinical isolates from human immunodeficiency virus-infected patients were tested for their susceptibilities to fluconazole and itraconazole by Fungitest and the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards MIC method. Fungitest results depended on both yeast species and antifungal agents. This test is able to detect sensitive strains (97% agreement with results of the MIC method in tests with fluconazole and 84% agreement in tests with itraconazole) but has a poor capacity to detect resistant strains (26% agreement in tests with fluconazole and 5% agreement in tests with itraconazole).  相似文献

In 114 men and to a less degree in 111 women, significant positive relations were found between the weight gain during the first trimenon of postnatal life and the body weight per body length in adulthood. In contrast, there were not observed any significant relations between birth weight, birth length or weight gain during the second trimenon of postnatal life and the body weight per body length in adulthood. These findings suggest that over-nutrition during the first three months of life may be considered an essential risk factor for the development of obesity and its complications.  相似文献
