Within the framework of solvent diffusion in glassy polymers, this paper concerns an experimental study of toluene sorption and desorption in P(MMA/nBMA) copolymer films. Gravimetric experiments (quartz microbalance) are performed in a pressure and temperature controlled chamber. Coupling between solvent diffusion and viscoelastic relaxation is taken into account through the time-dependent solubility model, based on the Fick diffusion equation inside the film and a time variable boundary condition at the film/vapor interface. Viscoelastic relaxation is described by a first order model or by a stretched exponential. In the present paper, a special focus is given on the set inversion method used to analyze the data and to derive well-defined uncertainty intervals upon each determined quantity, taking all the uncertainties on the weight measurements into account. We find that the mutual diffusion coefficient strongly decreases in the glassy state, of about two orders of magnitude for a 0.05 decrease in the solvent weight fraction.  相似文献

We report an unusual case of peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor (pPNET) in an infant presenting with congenital cutaneous nodules and a t(7;22)(p21;q11.2). The biologic behavior of the tumor diverged over time from a slowly growing tumor with multiple cutaneous nodules to a more aggressive neoplasm characterized by pulmonary metastases and a soft tissue mass showing additional cytogenetic alterations.  相似文献

The purpose of this phase II study was to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and toxicity of a tandem or triple high-dose chemotherapy (HDC) with autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT) in patients with metastatic breast cancer (MBC) as first line chemotherapy. Conventional chemotherapy consisted of two cycles of epirubicin 120 mg/m2 and ifosfamide 7500 mg/m2 in the case of tandem HDC and one cycle of paclitaxel 135 mg/m2, epirubicin 90 mg/m2 and ifosfamide 6000 mg/m2 in the case of triple HDC. Tandem HDC was composed of two cycles of epirubicin 180 mg/m2, ifosfamide 12000 mg/m2 and carboplatin 900 mg/m2. In the case of triple HDC, paclitaxel 180 mg/m2, etoposide 1500 mg/m2 and thiotepa 600 mg/m2 was added as the third cycle. Patients with tandem HDC (n = 20) were evaluable for both survival and toxicity, and patients with triple HDC (n = 21) only for toxicity because of short-term follow-up. Both tandem and triple HDC were well tolerated and could be safely administered. Non-hematological WHO grade 3 or 4 toxicities were mucositis (8), temporary renal insufficiency (1), myocardial infarction (1), and neuropathy (1). No toxic death occurred. The Kaplan-Meier estimates for 44-months without progression and the overall survival were 12% and 38% respectively. The median survival was 22 months (95% CI: 7.4-51.7 months) and the median progression-free interval 14 months (95% CI: 5.1-43.7 months). In a population with an unfavorable prognosis, tandem HDC showed similar efficacy as to that described in other phase II studies. Triple HDC seems not to improve patient outcome compared to tandem HDC, but a long-term follow up is required.  相似文献

The "attentional model" of time estimation assumes that temporal judgments depend on the amount of attention allocated to the temporal processor (the timer). One of the main predictions of this model is that an interval will be judged shorter when attention is not allocated to the temporal parameters of the task. Previous studies combining temporal and nontemporal tasks (dual-task method) have suggested that the time spent processing the target duration might be a key factor. The less time devoted by the subject to the temporal task, the shorter the judged duration. In the two experiments presented here, subjects were asked to judge both the duration of a visual stimulus and an increment in intensity occurring at any time during this stimulus. In the second experiment, trials without intensity increments were added. The main result is that the judged duration was shorter when the increment occurred later in the stimulus or did not occur. In those cases, subjects had been expecting increment occurrence during most part of the stimulus and thus had focused for a shorter time on stimulus duration. We propose that attention shifts related to expectancy and to detection of the increment reduce subjective duration.  相似文献

In light‐emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), the position of the emission zone (EZ) is not predefined via a multilayer architecture design, but governed by a complex motion of electrical and ionic charges. As a result of the evolution of doped charge transport layers that enclose a dynamic intrinsic region until steady state is reached, the EZ is often dynamic during turn‐on. For thick sandwich polymer LECs, a continuous change of the emission color provides a direct visual indication of a moving EZ. Results from an optical and electrical analysis indicate that the intrinsic zone is narrow at early times, but starts to widen during operation, notably well before the electrical device optimum is reached. Results from numerical simulations demonstrate that the only precondition for this event to occur is that the mobilities of anions (μa) and cations (μc) are not equal, and the direction of the EZ shift dictates μc > μa. Quantitative ion profiles reveal that the displacement of ions stops when the intrinsic zone stabilizes, confirming the relation between ion movement and EZ shift. Finally, simulations indicate that the experimental current peak for constant‐voltage operation is intrinsic and the subsequent decay does not result from degradation, as commonly stated.  相似文献

Mixed ionic–electronic conducting $La_{0.5} Sr_{0.5} Fe_{1 - x} B_x O_{3 - \delta } $ (B: Al, Cr, Zr, Ga, Ti, Sn, Ta, V, Mg, and In with x?=?0, 0.1, 0.2) perovskite materials were produced via solid-state synthesis. In order to study the effect of B-site substitution on the expansion behavior of these materials, their thermal expansion in air up to 900°C and isothermal expansion at the same temperature from air to Ar were measured by dilatometry. Ti and Ta were found to be the most effective substitutions in suppressing the isothermal expansion. The isothermal expansion at 900°C from air to Ar was reduced by 50% by substitution of 20% Ti or 10% Ta. Therefore, these compositions were further characterized by 4-probe total DC conductivity and permeation measurements under air/Ar gradient. The total conductivity of $La_{0.5} Sr_{0.5} FeO_{3 - \delta } $ was decreased by more than one order of magnitude at low temperatures and from 430 S/cm, which is the maximum, to around 100 S/cm at 500°C with the addition of Ti and Ta. The normalized oxygen permeation of LSF at 900°C decreased from 0.18 to 0.05 μmol/cm2s and 0.07 μmol/cm2s with the substitution of 20% Ti and 10% Ta, respectively.  相似文献

An alternative way to process data from polarization measurements for fuel cell model validation is proposed. The method is based on re‐ and subsampling of IV data, with which repetitive estimations are obtained for the model parameters. This way statistics such as standard deviations and correlations between the parameters may be experimentally derived. Histograms may also be produced, approximating the probability distributions that they follow. Two experimental case studies are discussed. In the first case, observations are made on the behavior of the parameter values for two mathematical models. As the number of data points (measurement points) employed in the estimation of the parameters increases, parameters with high variances converge to specific values. On the contrary, parameters with small variances diverge linearly. The parameters' histograms do not usually follow normal distributions rather they show a connection between the number of peaks in the graphs and correlations of the parameters. The second case study is an application on a fast degraded SOFC button cell, where the values and the histograms of the parameters are compared before and after degradation.  相似文献
