BACKGROUND: Over the past several decades methyl tert‐butyl ether (MTBE) as additive to gasoline, intended to either boost ratings of fuel or to reduce air pollution, has been accepted worldwide. Since MTBE has high water solubility, the occurrence of fuel spills or leaks from underground storage tanks or transferring pipeline has led to the contamination of natural waters. In this study the degradation of aqueous MTBE at relatively high concentrations was investigated by a UV‐visible/ZnO/H2O2 photocatalytic process. The effects of important operational parameters such as pH, amount of H2O2, catalyst loading and irradiation time were also investigated. Concentration of MTBE and intermediates such as tert‐butyl formate and tert‐butyl alcohol were measured. RESULTS: Time required for complete degradation increased from 20 to 150 min when the initial concentration was increased from 10 to 500 mg L?1. The first‐order rate constants for degradation of MTBE were estimated to be 0.183–0.022 min?1 as the concentration increased from 10 to 500 mg L?1. Study of the overall mineralization monitored by total organic carbon analysis showed that at an initial concentration of 100 mg L?1 MTBE complete mineralization was obtained after 100 min under UV‐visible/ZnO/H2O2 photocatalysis. CONCLUSION: The data presented in this paper clearly indicated that UV‐visible/ZnO/O2 as an advanced oxidation process provides an efficient treatment alternative for the remediation of MTBE‐contaminated waters. In this paper, the energy efficiency (EE) of a decode and forward (DF) relay system is studied, where two sources communicate through a half-duplex relay node in one-way and two-way relaying strategies. Both the circuitry power and the transmission power of all nodes are taken into consideration. In addition, three different coding schemes for two-way DF relaying strategy with two phases and two-way DF relaying with three phases are considered. The aim is to maximize the EE of the system for a constant spectral efficiency (SE). For this purpose, the transmission time and the transmission power of each node are optimized. Simulations are used to compare the EE–SE curve of different DF strategies with one-way and two-way amplify and forward (AF) strategies and direct transmission (DT), to find the best energy efficient strategy in different SE conditions. Analytical and simulation results demonstrate that in low SE conditions, DF relaying strategies are more energy efficient compared to that of AF strategies and DT. However, in high SE conditions, the EE of two-way AF relaying and DT strategy outperform some of the DF relaying strategies. In simulations, the impact of different circuitry power and different channel conditions on the EE–SE curves are also investigated. 相似文献

Chemical vapor deposition of poly(3‐methylthiophene) and poly (3‐hexylthiophene) as conductive polymers on the surface of polyester fabrics was successfully obtained. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the formation of polymers on surface of fabrics (the fingerprint of polythiophenes, υ 600–1500 cm?1). The uniformity of deposition and nanoparticles (average size of 60 nm) were proved with scanning electron microscopy. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy showed that P3HT‐coated samples offer higher conductivity in compared to P3MT‐coated samples. The impedance modulus of P3HT‐coated samples was lowered nine times to that of row materials and reached to c8000 Ω. The samples have also shown electrochromic properties under electrical current, changing its color from yellowish green at 0 V to dark green at +12 V for poly (3‐hexylthiophene) samples and from brown at 0 V to red at +12 V for poly(3‐methylthiophene)‐coated fabrics (V = 0 V, λ = 450 nm; V = 12 V, λ = 650 nm). © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Abstract: In this article, the material and physical parameters for the creep constitutive equations of cold‐drawn 304L stainless steel have been determined using experimental data. Austenitic stainless steel 304L is used mostly in power generation and petrochemical industries because of its high‐temperature creep resistance even at above yield stresses. Test samples have been obtained from cold‐drawn bars, and the material conforms to ASTM A276‐05a specifications. The creep behaviour and properties have been examined for this material by conducting uni‐axial creep tests. Constant temperature and constant load uni‐axial creep tests have been carried out at three temperatures of 680,700 and 720 °C, subjected to constant loads which produce below and above yield initial stresses of 200, 250, 320, 340 and 360 MPa. The experimental data have been used to obtain the creep constitutive parameters using numerical optimisation techniques. In addition, the temperature and stress dependency of the creep properties for this alloy have been investigated using Larson–Miller and Monkman–Grant parameters. 相似文献

New polyamide 66/graphene oxide (GO)-grafted aliphatic-aromatic polyamide (polyamide-imide) (PAI) (PA66/GOF) composites nanofibers were successfully prepared via electrospinning method for the first time. An polyamide imide (PAI) was synthesized using polycondensation reaction from a dicarboxylic acid and a diamine based on 4,4′-(4,4′-isopropylidenediphenyl-1,1′-diyldioxy) dianiline, and characterized by 1HNMR and FTIR. Morphological, structural, thermal and mechanical characteristics of the nanocomposite fibers were investigated by means of SEM, TEM, WAXD, DMTA and TGA techniques. Composites nanofibers of PA66/GO, PA66/PAI and PA66/GOF with smooth surface, uniform structure as well as with diameter ranging from 195 to 784 nm were obtained. The GO incorporation caused a reduction in the nanofibers diameters. The TEM images showed that the GO was well dispersed in the PA66 nanofibers without significant aggregation. An approximately 10 °C temperature increase in the glass transition temperature of PA66 was achieved by addition of 0.5 wt% of PAI, resulting from aliphatic-aromatic structure of PAI. By the TGA results, an increase about 40 °C was observed in the thermal stability of PA66/PAI composite nanofibers in comparison with that of pure PA66 nanofibers. 相似文献

Stress and fracture analysis of bonded double lap joint (DLJ) specimens have been investigated in this paper. Numerical and analytical methods have been used to obtain shear- and peel-stress distributions in the DLJ. The generalized analytical solution for the peel stress was calculated for various forms of the DLJ geometry and, by using crack closure integral (CCI) and by means of the J-integral approach, the analytical strain energy-release rate, G, was calculated. Experimental fracture tests have also been conducted to validate the results. The specimens were made of steel substrates bonded by an adhesive and loaded under tension. Specimens with cracks on both sides and at either end of the DLJ interface were tested to compare the fracture behavior for the two crack positions where tensile and compressive peel stresses exist. Tests confirmed that the substrates essentially behave elastically. Therefore, a linear elastic solution for the bonded region of the DLJ was developed. The fracture energy parameter, G, calculated from the elastic experimental compliance for different crack lengths, was compared with numerical and analytical calculations using the experimental fracture loads. The stresses from analytical analysis were also compared with those from the finite element results. The strain energy-release rate for fracture, Gf, for the adhesive has been shown to have no R-curve resistance, was relatively independent of crack length, and compared well with those obtained from numerical and analytical solutions. However, it was found that fracture energy for the crack starter in the position where the peel stress was tensile was about 20% lower than where the crack was positioned at the side, where the peel stress was found to be compressive. 相似文献

Modeling, optimization, process monitoring, and product development in a toner process using multiway principal component analysis and multiway partial least square method is described. Process measurements and product quality values of past successful batches were collected in a data matrix and preprocessed through time alignment, centering, and scaling. Following the identification of latent variables, an empirical model was built through a fourfold cross validation that can represent the operation of a successful batch. The prepared model provided a realistic prediction of process behavior, realistically represented the operation of the industrial unit, and is mathematically simple enough to be used in online optimization and for automatic control strategies of selected abnormal batches. 相似文献

The kinetics of the precipitation of aluminum nitride on internal nitriding the Fe-2 at. pct Al alloy was investigated for
cold-rolled and recrystallized specimens exhibiting “ideally weak” interaction behavior of the solutes Al and N. The kinetic
analysis was performed using mass-increase data obtained for thin foils (thickness ⪯0.1 mm) upon nitriding in a NH3/H2 gas mixture at temperatures in the range 803 to 853 K. Activation-energy analysis revealed that precipitation of AlN in the
recrystallized specimens is associated with a Gibbs free energy barrier for the formation of a precipitate of critical size;
the precipitation rate is controlled by both nucleation and growth. On the other hand, precipitation of AlN in the cold-rolled
specimens occurs without a Gibbs free energy barrier for formation of a precipitate of critical size; the precipitation rate
is controlled by growth with kinetics governed by volume diffusion of alu-minum. Analysis of the total Gibbs free energy of
formation of AlN in the α-Fe matrix showed that in the case of the recrystallized specimens, the formation of incoherent AlN
precipitates with a hexagonal crystal structure is favored. In the case of the cold-rolled specimens, containing a high dislocation
density, the formation of coherent AlN precipitates with cubic crystal structure is favored, at least in the beginning of

Optimum design of forging dies using fuzzy logic in conjunction with the backward deformation method

A novel shape optimization method is presented for the design of preform die shapes in multistage forging processes using a combination of the backward deformation method and a fuzzy decision making algorithm. In the backward deformation method, the final component shape is taken as the starting point, and the die is moved in the reverse direction with boundary nodes being released as the die is raised. The optimum die shape is thereby determined by taking the optimum reverse path. A fuzzy decision making approach is developed to specify new boundary conditions for each backward time increment based on geometrical features and the plastic deformation of the workpiece. In order to demonstrate this approach, a design analysis for an axisymmetric disk forging is presented in this paper. 相似文献
