NMR studies have been carried out to determine the nature of the orientational ordering of N
2
in dilute solid N
2–Ar mixtures. The orientational ordering for cubic lattices (x(N
2)50%) was compared to that observed for the hexagonal lattice structures for 57 < x(N
2) < 75%. The NMR line shapes for the cubic structures were found to be sharply defined and could only be explained in terms of a narrow distribution of order parameters. This is in contrast to the quadrupolar glass state with a very broad order parameter distribution observed for the hexagonal structures. 相似文献

Image pansharpening in the remote-sensing domain may be defined as the technique of extracting high-resolution details from the panchromatic (PAN) image and injecting them into the multispectral (MS) one in a way to preserve the spectral signature and improve the spatial resolution. In this article, the authors propose an image fusion framework that tries to derive sharpened MS image such that: (i) when decimated taking into account the imagery system Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), it equals the original MS image; (ii) when decomposed using discrete wavelet transform (DWT), its geometrical details are those of the PAN image weighted by the compatibility PAN/MS. Indeed, MS sharpening is carried out in two steps. First, pre-pansharpened MS image is obtained using inverse DWT taking as approximations those of the upsampled original MS image and as details those of PAN (to reduce spectral distortion, PAN detail injection is performed proportionally to the similarity PAN/MS). Second, to satisfy (i) and to remove the PAN-MS disagreement, an iteration algorithm (alternatively corrects approximations and details) has been proposed. The proposed approach is designed in two versions inspired by the Generalized Laplacian Pyramid (GLP) and the Gram–Schmidt (GS) transformation, respectively.To validate our approach, Pléiades-1A, Geoeye-1, and Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) images are tested. The results of qualitative and quantitative scores are presented and discussed. Applying Dynamic Training‐Subset Selection Methods Using Genetic Programming for Forecasting Implied Volatility 下载免费PDF全文
Volatility is a key variable in option pricing, trading, and hedging strategies. The purpose of this article is to improve the accuracy of forecasting implied volatility using an extension of genetic programming (GP) by means of dynamic training‐subset selection methods. These methods manipulate the training data in order to improve the out‐of‐sample patterns fitting. When applied with the static subset selection method using a single training data sample, GP could generate forecasting models, which are not adapted to some out‐of‐sample fitness cases. In order to improve the predictive accuracy of generated GP patterns, dynamic subset selection methods are introduced to the GP algorithm allowing a regular change of the training sample during evolution. Four dynamic training‐subset selection methods are proposed based on random, sequential, or adaptive subset selection. The latest approach uses an adaptive subset weight measuring the sample difficulty according to the fitness cases' errors. Using real data from S&P500 index options, these techniques are compared with the static subset selection method. Based on mean squared error total and percentage of non‐fitted observations, results show that the dynamic approach improves the forecasting performance of the generated GP models, especially those obtained from the adaptive‐random training‐subset selection method applied to the whole set of training samples. 相似文献

Four of the currently recognized autosomal recessive limb-girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMD type 2C-F) are caused by mutations in the genes encoding components of the sarcoglycan complex. LGMD 2C, caused by mutations in gamma-sarcoglycan, is prevalent in northern Africa, especially in Tunisia, where this type of muscular dystrophy was originally described. Although the disease initially was assumed to be genetically homogeneous in this region, linkage to the alpha-sarcoglycan locus (LGMD 2D) has also been found. We have now identified the first Tunisian family with beta-sarcoglycanopathy (LGMD 2E), further adding to the genetic heterogeneity of autosomal recessive LGMD in this population. Direct sequencing of the beta-sarcoglycan gene revealed a homozygous mutation (G272-->T, Arg91Leu) in exon 3. This change affects the same arginine residue in the immediate extracellular domain of the protein that was mutated to a proline (G272-->C, Arg91Pro) in a Brazilian family with a severe form of the disease. Immunohistochemical analysis for the sarcoglycan complex demonstrates absence of the known components of the complex in both of these families. We postulate that the immediate extracellular domain of beta-sarcoglycan may be important for the assembly and/or maintenance of this complex, potentially mediated by disulfide-bond formation to another sarcoglycan via the single cysteine residue in that domain. 相似文献

Men and women value different characteristics in potential partners. It was hypothesized that women feel they have less control over traits relevant to their desirability than men feel they have over traits related to male desirability. In Study 1, undergraduates (N = 150) completed questionnaires measuring (a) the importance they attributed to 64 characteristics when choosing a mate and (b) their perceived control over these traits. Men selected partners on the basis of traits that are relatively uncontrollable (e.g., youth, attractiveness), whereas women selected partners on the basis of traits that are more controllable (e.g., status, industriousness; d = 1.75). In Study 2, these findings were replicated in an older, representative community sample (N = 301; d = 1.03). Greater uncontrollability of traits relevant to female mate value may place women at elevated risk for negative affect, depression, low self-esteem, and body dissatisfaction. 相似文献

In this paper, we are interested in the problem of Blind Source Separation using a Second-order Statistics (SOS) method in order to separate autocorrelated and mutually independent sources mixed according to a bilinear (BL) model. In this context, we propose a new approach called Bilinear Second-order Blind Source Separation, which is an extension of linear SOS methods, devoted to separate sources present in BL mixtures. These sources, called extended sources, include the actual sources and their products. We first study the statistical properties of the different extended sources, in order to verify the assumption of identifiability when the actual sources are zero-mean and when they are not. Then, we present the different steps performed in order to estimate these actual centred sources and to extract the actual mixing parameters. The obtained results using artificial mixtures of synthetic and real sources confirm the effectiveness of the new proposed approach. 相似文献
