A well-planned arrangement of manufacturing departments on a two-dimensional planar region considerably increases the efficiency of its production systems, which is termed facility layout problem (FLP). Conventional layout design approach often designs intercell layout (determining exact location of each department on shop floor area) and flow path layout design of material handling system (MHS) step by step in a sequential manner. This results in suboptimal solutions for FLP. In this paper, an integrated approach is adopted to design the intercell layout and the flow path layout of MHS simultaneously. The quality of the final layout is evaluated by minimizing total material handling cost. Sequence pair (SP) representation is used for layout encoding. The translation from SP to layout is efficiently made by longest common subsequence (LCS) methodology. An elitist strategy genetic algorithm using simulated annealing (E-GASAA) as a local search mechanism is developed and tested with four test problem instances available in the literature. Elitist strategy is incorporated to enhance convergence characteristic of the proposed algorithm. It is found that the proposed E-GASAA is able to produce best solutions consistently for the test problem instance of different sizes within acceptable computational effort. In addition to that, we tried to reduce the computational load with the help of adopted LCS computation methodology and achieved a good improvement.  相似文献

Enhancing the production rate while maintaining control in electrospinning has been a challenge for years. This work proposes a novel spinneret from a tube with a single wire loop embedded in its one end. With the feeding of solution precisely controlled and the spinning process stablized, multiple polymer jets can be continuously generated from the wire loop. The as‐spun fibers show nanofibrous structure and its fiber diameter is greatly affected by the applied voltage and polymer concentration. As compared to needle electrospinning, the wire loop spinneret generates a stronger electric field with a larger spinnable area due to its special geometrical structure and a higher applied voltage it is connected to. Slightly coarser nanofibers are fabricated as compared to the nanofibers from needle electrospinning and the production rate is as high as 0.48 g h?1.  相似文献

Efficacy of locally applied mupirocin in the elimination of Staphylococcus aureus (SA) from the nasal mucosa in patients on maintenance hemodialysis was studied. SA was isolated in 27 patients (33.3% of the population of dialysis patients) and trials were carried out in 25 patients by applying a 2% mupirocin ointment for five days. The eradication amounted to 92% immediately upon therapy completion, and to 84%, 56%, 52% and 32% after 1, 2, 3 and 9 months. All SA strains isolated before and after the treatment were sensitive to mupirocin. The authors believe that mupirocin is efficient in the elimination of SA from nasal mucosa, however, control swabs should be periodically taken at two-month intervals.  相似文献

Disruptive neuronal migration during early brain development causes severe brain malformation. Characterized by mislocalization of cortical neurons, this condition is a result of the loss of function of migration regulating genes. One known neuronal migration disorder is lissencephaly (LIS), which is caused by deletions or mutations of the LIS1 (PAFAH1B1) gene that has been implicated in regulating the microtubule motor protein cytoplasmic dynein. Although this class of diseases has recently received considerable attention, the roles of non-synonymous polymorphisms (nsSNPs) in LIS1 on lissencephaly progression remain elusive. Therefore, the present study employed combined bioinformatics and molecular modeling approach to identify potential damaging nsSNPs in the LIS1 gene and provide atomic insight into their roles in LIS1 loss of function. Using this approach, we identified three high-risk nsSNPs, including rs121434486 (F31S), rs587784254 (W55R), and rs757993270 (W55L) in the LIS1 gene, which are located on the N-terminal domain of LIS1. Molecular dynamics simulation highlighted that all variants decreased helical conformation, increased the intermonomeric distance, and thus disrupted intermonomeric contacts in the LIS1 dimer. Furthermore, the presence of variants also caused a loss of positive electrostatic potential and reduced dimer binding potential. Since self-dimerization is an essential aspect of LIS1 to recruit interacting partners, thus these variants are associated with the loss of LIS1 functions. As a corollary, these findings may further provide critical insights on the roles of LIS1 variants in brain malformation.  相似文献

Multiple jet was successfully generated from a convex needle spinneret based on a conventional electrospinning setup. A convex channel was created in the front part of the needle to generate a limited free surface in the electrospinning process. A high flow rate was implemented with more than one polymer jet being produced, resulting in the production rate 2–3 times higher than conventional electrospinning. Finer nanofibers were produced from the convex needle when the applied voltage was 19 kV. The electric field intensity distribution of this spinneret was analyzed and compared with conventional needle spinneret by Comsol Multiphysics modeling. The research work has demonstrated that scaling up the production rate of nanofibers from needle-based free surface electrospinning is possible. Limestone springs support productive ecosystems and fisheries, yet aquaculture may modify or impair these ecosystems. We determined trout hatchery organic contribution to spring creek sediments and foodwebs with natural abundance stable isotope methods. Hatchery feed, waste, and trout were significantly enriched in delta(13)C relative to autotrophs and wild fish. Spring creek sediments were enriched in delta(13)C toward the hatchery endmember relative to reference streams without hatcheries and relative to a larger larger-order, spring-influenced stream. Contribution of hatchery C to spring creek sediments was greatest during March and associated with greatest sediment %C. Contribution of hatchery C to pollution-tolerant isopod diet was 39-51% in a stream receiving limestone spring water via hatchery effluent. Isopods of one spring creek also relied on hatchery-derived C within one month of hatchery closure. Four years later, less pollution pollution-tolerant amphipods dominated and consumed non-vascular over vascular autotrophs (86%). Isopods of a second spring creek with an active hatchery did not appear to be using hatchery matter directly, but were enriched in delta(34)S relative to a spring creek tributary with no hatchery influence. Isopods in both of these streams were relatively enriched in delta(15)N, indicating general nutrient enrichment from surrounding agricultural land use. The contribution of hatchery vs. wild fish in diet of herons and egrets was traced with delta(13)C of guano. These birds were strongly dependent on stocked trout in a spring creek with a recently closed state trout hatchery, and also near another large, state-run hatchery. Heron dependence on hatchery fish in the spring creek decreased with time since hatchery closure. Use of stable isotope natural abundance techniques in karst spring creeks can reveal stream impairment due to aquaculture, specific C sources to bio-indicating consumers, losses of farmed fish to predation, and potential exposure of higher order consumers to contaminants associated with aquaculture.  相似文献

The increasing grid integration of wind power has led to the compulsory requirement of low-voltage ride through capability (LVRT) in wind turbines. Grid codes for LVRT capability of wind turbines are proposed in all major wind-energy-producing countries. The testing of LVRT capability compliance of the wind generators as per the specified grid codes during different fault conditions is essential to ensure its reliability. The testing process is generally done by the manufacturers and crucial for certification as per the IEC 61400-21 international standard for measurement of power quality characteristics of wind turbines. This review analyses the various testing tools under the software- and hardware-based categories. The review helps in understanding the present challenges in implementation of wind turbines, to alleviate the difficulty in LVRT testing procedures.  相似文献

While designing the layout of any manufacturing organizations, the primary objective is to decide an optimal arrangement of their departments (machines or cells) in a two-dimensional shop floor (facility) satisfying desired objectives, which is termed facility layout problem (FLP). In traditional layout design philosophy, the inter-cell layout and flow path layout design of material handling system (MHS) was carried out step by step in a sequential manner. This results in sub-optimal solutions for FLP. In this paper, an integrated approach is adopted to design the inter-cell layout and the flow path layout of MHS simultaneously. The quality of the final layout is evaluated by minimizing the weighted sum of two distance-based cost objectives namely, (1) total material handling cost. (2) Distance-weighted cost of total closeness rating score. Sequence-pair (SP) representation is used for layout encoding. The translation from SP to layout is efficiently done by longest common subsequence methodology. Due to NP-hard nature of the proposed problem, an elitist strategy genetic algorithm (ESGA) is developed and tested with three test problem instances available in the literature. It is found that the proposed ESGA algorithm is able to produce the best solutions consistently, twice faster than the standard GA for the test problem instances.  相似文献
