A new preparation method has been developed to produce homogeneous coatings of manganese compounds on alumina-coated monoliths by redox deposition-precipitation using acetone as solvent. The deposition is produced by reduction of manganese permanganate with ethanol. The Lewis acid sites on the alumina catalyze this reaction. Thus, the precipitation is produced preferentially on the surface of the monolith and not in the bulk of the solution. Monoliths prepared by this method are very active for the complete oxidation of oxygenated volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These monoliths consist of a mixture of complex phases including aluminum, sulfated alumina, potassium sulfate and manganese oxide.  相似文献

Two samples of commercial conducting carbon black and the carbon generated in situ during LiFePO4/C composite synthesis from citric acid are studied, with the aim of finding out whether carbon from the composite can fulfil the same function as carbon black in the electrode blend for a Li-ion battery. For this purpose, the carbon samples are analyzed by several techniques, such as X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, granulometry, BET specific area and conductivity measurements. Different cathode compositions and component proportions are tested for pellet and cast electrodes. Electrochemical results show that a moderate reduction of commercial carbon black content in both kinds of cathodes, by adding more LiFePO4/C composite, enhanced the electrochemical behaviour by around 10%. In situ generated carbon can partially replace commercial conducting carbon black because its high specific surface probably enhances electrolyte penetration into the cathode, but it is always necessary to maintain a minimum amount of carbon black that provides better conductivity in order to obtain a good electrochemical response.  相似文献

The effect of reuterin and high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) processing at 450 MPa for 5 min on the inactivation of Listeria monocytogenes and the characteristics of cold-smoked salmon during 35 days at 4 and 10 °C were investigated. The growth rate of the pathogen was reduced by reuterin addition and a synergistic antimicrobial effect against L. monocytogenes was recorded when the biopreservative was applied in combination with HHP at 450 MPa for 5 min. This combined treatment prevented the pathogen recovery observed with individual treatments and delayed the spoilage of smoked salmon maintaining total viable counts under 3.5 log units during 35 days of storage at 4 °C. All treatments assayed induced changes in lightness (L*) and redness (a*), resulting in a brighter appearance of smoked salmon, whereas no modifications were recorded in shear strength values immediately after treatments. Moreover, reuterin and HHP treatments, individually or in combination, avoided the formation of biogenic amines during the 35 days of storage at 4 and 10 °C. The addition of reuterin in combination with HHP at 450 MPa for 5 min might be applied as a hurdle technology to improve the safety and extend the shelf life of lightly preserved seafood products, such as cold-smoked salmon.  相似文献

The optimization of a gelled oil-in-water emulsion was performed for use as fat replacer in the formulation of ω-3 PUFA-enriched cooked meat products. The linseed oil content, carrageenan concentration and surfactant–oil ratio were properly combined in a surface response design for maximizing the hardness and minimizing the syneresis of the PUFA delivery system. The optimal formulation resulted in a gelled emulsion containing 40% of oil and 1.5% of carrageenan, keeping a surfactant–oil ratio of 0.003. The gel was applied as a partial fat replacer in a Bologna-type sausage and compared to the use of an O/W emulsion also enriched in ω-3. Both experimental sausages contributed with higher ω-3 PUFA content than the control. No sensory differences were found among formulations. The selected optimized gelled oil-in-water emulsion was demonstrated to be a suitable lipophilic delivery system for ω-3 PUFA compounds and applicable in food formulations as fat replacer.  相似文献

Reduced-energy and reduced-fat Bologna products enriched with ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids were formulated by replacing the pork back-fat by an oil-in-water emulsion containing a mixture of linseed-algae oil stabilized with a lyophilized Melissa officinalis extract. Healthier composition and lipid profile was obtained: 85 kcal/100 g, 3.6% fat, 0.6 g ALA and 0.44 g DHA per 100 g of product and ω-6/ω-3 ratio of 0.4. Technological and sensory problems were not detected in the new formulations. Reformulation did not cause oxidation problems during 32 days of storage under refrigeration. The results suggest that it is possible to obtain reduced-fat Bologna-type sausages rich in ALA and DHA and stabilized with natural antioxidants, applying the appropriate technology without significant effects on the sensory quality, yielding interesting products from a nutritional point of view.  相似文献

This study concerns the preparation of eco‐composites based on natural fibers coming from wood and subproducts (rice husks) and products (kenaf) of annually grown plants. The matrices used were of two types: a biopolymer (PLA) and a petroleum‐derived polymer (HDPE). Results showed that natural fibers markedly increase the tensile and flexural properties of both polymers by extending the field of application of these materials with less use of nonrenewable resources. The properties obtained are comparable to commercially available fiber‐filled composites. Moreover, processing can easily be carried out in one step below a critical fiber volume. Fire and durability performance of the composites can be also improved by adding typical fire retardants and pigments. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2008  相似文献
