A methodology is presented for planning the operation of the Fuerte-Carrizo irrigation system in northwest Mexico. The system has two storage dams, two irrigation districts, and water transfer capabilities between both dams. The methodology uses a combination of linear programming (LP) and simulation. The LP model maximizes the net return of the farmers, subject to restrictions of the system, availability of water and land, and water transfer relationships. The simulation model is programmed as a microcomputer interactive package simulating the performance of the system. The methodology has proven to be a useful tool to assist those responsible for the operation of the irrigation system. 相似文献

The benefit of thresholding carbon layers in electron tomographic tilt series by intensity downshifting 下载免费PDF全文
When performing electron tomography, tilt series of images are often acquired from samples that contain unwanted carbonaceous material, such as an embedding resin, a thin carbon support film or hydrocarbon contamination. The presence of such layers can introduce artefacts in reconstructions, obscuring features of interest. Here, we illustrate the benefit of preprocessing a high‐angle annular dark‐field tomographic tilt series by thresholding unwanted low‐density materials using a simple intensity downshifting procedure. The resulting tomograms have fewer artefacts and segmentation can be performed more accurately. We present two representative examples taken from studies of catalyst nanoparticles and amyloid plaque core material from the human brain. 相似文献

Chirostoma jordani is a native annual species inhabiting lacustrine waters of the Central Mexico Plateau. It is widely distributed and is currently facing high environmental pressures. Five experiments were performed to study the reproductive performance of this species. Four of the experiments were conducted in 270-L indoor recirculation tanks. Two males and one female at the first stage of reproduction were included in each test. A photoperiod of 14 light hours and 10 dark hours was used. In a fifth experiment, 10 females and 15 males were kept in an outdoor 3,000-L recirculation tank under natural photoperiod. The number of spawns, fertilised eggs and 30-day-old juveniles were counted and the survival rate was calculated. The results indicated significant differences (P<0.05) between treatments. Higher spawn numbers and greater egg production were observed under controlled photoperiod, and higher numbers of juveniles and a higher survival rate were observed under natural photoperiod. The trials exhibited different patterns of egg production during the experiment. The egg production in the natural-photoperiod trials followed a polynomial curve model. In contrast, the trials under the controlled photoperiod showed an irregular pattern of increases and decreases in egg production. 相似文献

In this work, a surveillance network composed of a set of sensors and a fusion center is designed as a multiagent system. Negotiation among sensors (agents) is proposed to solve the task-to-sensor assignment problem (the allocation of tasks to sensors), addressing several aspects. First, the fusion center determines the tasks (system tasks) to be performed by the network at each management cycle. To do that, a fuzzy reasoning system determines the priorities of these system tasks by means of a symbolic inference process using the fused data received from all sensors. In addition, a fuzzy reasoning process, similar to that performed in the fusion center, is proposed to evaluate the priority of local tasks (sensor tasks) now executed by each sensor. The network coordination procedure will be based on the system-task priorities, computed in the fusion center, and on the local priorities evaluated in each sensor. Priority values for system and sensor tasks will be the basis to guide a negotiation process among sensors in the multiagent system. The validity of the fuzzy reasoning approach is supported by the fact that it has been able to manage environmental situations in a similar way as experienced human operators do. Included results illustrate how the negotiation scheme, based on task priority and measured through their time-variant priority, allows the adaption of sensor operation to changing situations. 相似文献
