An experimental and theoretical study is performed for bulk separation of H2/CO2 mixture (70/30 volume %) by PSA process with zeolite 5A, a process widely used commercially in conjunction with the catalytic steam reforming of natural gas or naphtha. For the optimized adsorption conditions of PSA, the characteristics of adsorption/desorption characteristics have been studied through breakthrough and desorption experiments under various conditions. The purge-to-feed ratio is important to the H2 product purity only at a long adsorption step time. H2 could be concentrated from 70% in the feed to 99.99% at H2 recovery of 67.5%. The results of all five steps in PSA are successfully predicted by the LDF model considering an energy balance and nonlinear isotherm. For the model, the effective diffusivities (D,) are obtained separately from the uptake curves of H2 and CO2. The Langmuir-Freundlich isotherm is used to correlate the experimental equilibrium data and is very well fitted to the results.  相似文献

Fifty‐five mono‐ and disaccharide analogues were prepared and used for the construction of microarrays to uncover lectin‐selective ligands. The microarray study showed that two disaccharide analogues, 28′ and 44′ , selectively bind to Solanum tuberosum lectin (STL) and wheat germ agglutinin (WGA), respectively. Cell studies indicated that 28′ and 44′ selectively block the binding of STL and WGA to mammalian cells, unlike the natural ligand LacNAc, which suppresses binding of both STL and WGA to cells.  相似文献

Developing electronics in unconventional forms provides opportunities to expand the use of electronics in diverse applications including bio-integrated or implanted electronics. One of the key challenges lies in integrating semiconductor microdevices onto unconventional substrates without glue, high pressure or temperature that may cause damage to microdevices, substrates or interfaces. This paper describes a solution based on natural gecko setal arrays that switch adhesion mechanically on and off, enabling pick and place manipulation of thin microscale semiconductor materials onto diverse surfaces including plants and insects whose surfaces are usually rough and irregular. A demonstration of functional ‘geckoprinted’ microelectronic devices provides a proof of concept of our results in practical applications.  相似文献

本研究推荐制动系统测功器数学模型用来鉴定制动转矩的变化(BTV),并确定动态试验和仿真间的相互关系,介绍了衬垫和盘之间简单模拟,作为点接触元件以及在时间范围内瞬态响应分析。该模型指出BTV的总量与衬垫刚度,摩擦系数,制动盘厚度变化和制动衬垫的有效半径成线性正比例,采用-制动测力器和附加的材料试验进行证实分析模型,动态试验表明所推荐的模型对预测-制动系统BTV具有合理的精确度。  相似文献

Poly(2‐cyano‐p‐phenylene terephthalamide) (CY‐PPTA) was obtained by the polycondensation of terephthaloyl dichloride and 2‐cyano‐p‐phenylene diamine in the mixture of N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) and calcium chloride (CaCl2). Washing the polymerized product with water and drying at the elevated temperature inevitably left a small amount of polymerization residues which could be eliminated only by additional washing with acetone. The thermogravimetric and 1H‐/13C‐NMR analyses revealed that the residues were largely composed of NMP which existed as a complex with the polymer. The complex was broken up between 200 and 300 °C and evolved 5 wt % of gaseous products, which had an adverse effect on the physical properties of as‐spun CY‐PPTA fibers obtained by dry jet‐wet spinning. The heat treatment of the as‐spun fibers including residual NMP exhibited some porous morphology on the fiber surface due to the evolved gases. However, the existence of the residual NMP had little effect on the intrinsic viscosity and liquid crystalline phase behavior of the polymer. Both rheological and optical properties exhibited the critical concentration at 3 wt % with the clear schlieren texture of nematic liquid crystalline phase. This paper studies the nonlinear behavior of the friction-induced vibration by using spring-mass model subject to the smooth frictionvelocity curve. The nonlinearity and instability of the friction may produce the chaotic vibration depending on the friction curve. In order to show this, the Lyapunov exponents are calculated for a variety of the slope and magnitude in the smooth friction curve. In turn, the dependency of the friction curve on the chaotic attractor is illustrated.  相似文献

The development and promotion of biofortified foods plants are a sustainable strategy for supplying essential micronutrients for human health and nutrition. We set out to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with carotenoid content in cowpea sprouts. The contents of carotenoids, including lutein, zeaxanthin, and β-carotene in sprouts of 125 accessions were quantified via high-performance liquid chromatography. Significant variation existed in the profiles of the different carotenoids. Lutein was the most abundant (58 ± 12.8 mg/100 g), followed by zeaxanthin (14.7 ± 3.1 mg/100 g) and β-carotene (13.2 ± 2.9 mg/100 g). A strong positive correlation was observed among the carotenoid compounds (r ≥ 0.87), indicating they can be improved concurrently. The accessions were distributed into three groups, following their carotenoid profiles, with accession C044 having the highest sprout carotenoid content in a single cluster. A total of 3120 genome-wide SNPs were tested for association analysis, which revealed that carotenoid biosynthesis in cowpea sprouts is a polygenic trait controlled by genes with additive and dominance effects. Seven loci were significantly associated with the variation in carotenoid content. The evidence of variation in carotenoid content and genomic regions controlling the trait creates an avenue for breeding cowpea varieties with enhanced sprouts carotenoid content.  相似文献

In this study, we calculated the whole arcing history of SF6 thermal plasmas happened inside a puffer-assisted self-blast chamber during the alternative current interruption process with two different turbulence models. It is very difficult to correctly realize all phenomena happened inside the interrupter using the computational schemes; therefore, we have been trying to simplify the physics related in the problem. Because most flows encountered in the process are turbulent, the ability to predict turbulence for this application is invaluable for the engineer to design the chamber reliably. The objective of this paper is to model turbulence by averaging the unsteadiness of the turbulence, which are called Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes models, and to compare the results with pressure and temperature field distributions during the whole arcing history. It was found that the two-equation turbulent model predicts bigger mixing of momentum, heat and species on the arc discharge of this interrupter than the zero-equation model does.  相似文献

Axial tension and transverse compression experiments on single fibers were performed to investigate the mechanical behavior of three high-performance fibers (Kevlar®, Kevlar® 129, and Twaron®) with diameters in the order of 9-12 μm. The single fibers were manufactured from 1998 through 2008. A miniaturized tensile Kolsky bar was used to determine the tensile response of PPTA single fibers at a high strain rate. Gage length and strain rate were found to have minimum effects on the tensile strength of PPTA single fibers. Manufacturing time over a decade was found to have negligible effects on the tensile strength of the fibers. Initial transverse compression on the fibers reduces their ultimate tensile strengths. A high resolution scanning electron microscope (SEM) was also used to examine the fracture modes of transversely deformed fibers. Different types of fracture morphology were observed.  相似文献

We show that a large class of active balancing problems for legged robots can be framed as a second-order cone programming (SOCP) problem, a convex optimization problem for which efficient and numerically robust algorithms exist. We describe this general SOCP balancing framework, show that several existing optimization-based balancing strategies reduce to special cases of this more general formulation, and investigate the computational performance of our SOCP algorithms through simulation studies involving a humanoid model.  相似文献
