Multiple human pose estimation is an important yet challenging problem. In an operating room (OR) environment, the 3D body poses of surgeons and medical staff can provide important clues for surgical workflow analysis. For that purpose, we propose an algorithm for localizing and recovering body poses of multiple human in an OR environment under a multi-camera setup. Our model builds on 3D Pictorial Structures and 2D body part localization across all camera views, using convolutional neural networks (ConvNets). To evaluate our algorithm, we introduce a dataset captured in a real OR environment. Our dataset is unique, challenging and publicly available with annotated ground truths. Our proposed algorithm yields to promising pose estimation results on this dataset.  相似文献

A microfabricated electrochemical actuator for large displacements   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A large-displacement electrochemical actuator was designed, fabricated, and tested. The large displacement is obtained by using a corrugated membrane made by physical vapor deposition of Parylene sandwiched with an intermediate layer of sputtered platinum. The layered structure is approximately 8-μm thick, with 26 grooves approximately 120-μm deep, and with a radial period of 350 μm. The electrochemical cell consists of platinum electrodes with a 1 M H2 SO4 solution. Hydrogen and oxygen gas is generated to displace the membrane. Although the actuator can operate at a voltage as low as 1.23 V, the experimentally determined efficiency of converting electrical energy to mechanical work is only 0.37%. The governing equations for the conservation of mass, momentum (equilibrium), energy, and the entropy generation rate were formulated assuming that the gas bubbles either nucleate without growth or grow without nucleation. For the nucleation case, simulations were performed for constant pressure isothermal actuation, and the average experimental efficiency was bounded by simulations with gas bubble radii between 1×10-6 m and 1×10-6 m. A significant quantity to be measured in the ionosphere is the local spectrum, S(k,ω), of either potential or electron density fluctuations. One can determine from S(k,ω) characteristics of the macroscopic plasma such as the local density and temperature, transport coefficients, and drift current. Determination of S(k,ω) may be carried out by measurement of the cross-power spectrum. Signals from two probes are passed through a cross-power spectrum analyzer, and the measurement is repeated for a series of probe separations. The resulting cross-power spectra, H(r,ω), must be Fourier-transformed to obtain S(k,ω). A number of questions pertinent to the use of this method in space are discussed. These include the expected signal-to-noise ratio, and the frequency and wave-number resolution attainable.  相似文献

A micromechanical flow sensor for microfluidic applications   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We fabricated a microfluidic flow meter and measured its response to fluid flow in a microfluidic channel. The flow meter consisted of a micromechanical plate, coupled to a laser deflection system to measure the deflection of the plate during fluid flow. The 100 /spl mu/m square plate was clamped on three sides and elevated 3 /spl mu/m above the bottom surface of the channel. The response of the flow meter was measured for flow rates, ranging from 2.1 to 41.7 /spl mu/L/min. Several fluids, with dynamic viscosities ranging from 0.8 to 4.5/spl times/10/sup -3/ N/m, were flowed through the channels. Flow was established in the microfluidic channel by means of a syringe pump, and the angular deflection of the plate monitored. The response of the plate to flow of a fluid with a viscosity of 4.5/spl times/10/sup -3/ N/m was linear for all flow rates, while the plate responded linearly to flow rates less than 4.2 /spl mu/L/min of solutions with lower dynamic viscosities. The sensitivity of the deflection of the plate to fluid flow was 12.5/spl plusmn/0.2 /spl mu/rad/(/spl mu/L/min), for a fluid with a viscosity of 4.5/spl times/10/sup -3/ N/m. The encapsulated plate provided local flow information along the length of a microfluidic channel.  相似文献

In the frame of the activities of the EU Breeder Blanket Programme and of the Test Blanket Working Group of ITER, the Helium Cooled Pebble Bed Test Blanket Module (HCPB TBM) is developed in Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe (FZK) to investigate DEMO relevant concepts for blanket modules.The three main functions of a blanket module (removing heat, breeding tritium and shielding sensitive components from radiation) will be tested in ITER using a series of four TBMs, which are irradiated successively during different test campaigns. Each HCPB TBM will be installed, with a vertical orientation, into the vacuum vessel connected to one equatorial port. As the studies performed up to 2006 in FZK concerned a horizontal orientation of the HCPB TBM, a global review of the design is necessary to match with the new ITER specifications.A preliminary version of the new vertical design is proposed extrapolating the neutronic analysis performed for the horizontal HCPB TBM. An overview of the new HCPB TBM vertical designs, as well as the preliminary thermal and fluid dynamic analyses performed for the validation of the design, are presented in this paper. A critical review of the results obtained allows us, in the conclusion, to prepare a plan for the future detailed analyses of the vertical HCPB TBM.  相似文献

An electrospray ionization source for integration with microfluidics   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
We have demonstrated a new electrospray ionization (ESI) device incorporating a tip made from a shaped thin film, bonded to a microfluidic channel, and interfaced to a time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOFMS). A triangular-shaped thin polymer tip was formed by lithography and etching. A microfluidic channel, 20 microm wide and 10 microm deep, was embossed in a cyclo olefin substrate using a silicon master. The triangular tip was aligned with the channel and bonded between the channel plate and a flat plate to create a microfluidic channel with a wicking tip protruding from the end. This structure aided the formation of a stable Taylor cone at the apex of the tip, forming an electrospray ionization source. This source was tested by spraying several solutions for mass spectrometric analysis. Because the components are all made by lithographic approaches with high geometrical fidelity, an integrated array system with multiple channels can be formed with the same method and ease as a single channel. We tested a multichannel system in a multiplexed manner and showed reliable operation with no significant cross contamination between closely spaced channels.  相似文献

The method has been derived using nonlinear analysis and therefore has the advantage of being applicable for large changes in reactive power or voltage. A highly efficient and accurate higher order large-domain finite-element technique is presented for three-dimensional (3-D) analysis of N-port waveguide structures with arbitrary metallic and dielectric discontinuities on standard PCs. The technique implements hierarchical polynomial vector basis functions of arbitrarily high field-approximation orders on Lagrange-type curved hexahedral finite elements of arbitrary geometrical orders. Preprocessing is carried out by a semiautomatic higher order meshing procedure developed for waveguide discontinuity problems. The computational domain is truncated by coupling the 3-D finite-element method (FEM) with a two-dimensional (2-D) modal expansion technique across the waveguide ports. In cases where analytical solutions are not available, modal forms at the ports are obtained by a higher order 2-D FEM eigenvalue analysis technique. The examples demonstrate very effective higher order hexahedral meshes constructed from a very small number of large curved finite elements (large domains). When compared to the existing higher order (but small domain) finite-element solutions, the presented models require approximately 1/5 of the number of unknowns for the same (or higher) accuracy of the results.  相似文献

We review recent experiments in which superfluid $^3$ He has been studied under highly controlled confinement in nanofluidic sample chambers. We discuss the experimental challenges and their resolution. These methods open the way to a systematic investigation of the superfluidity of $^3$ He films, and the surface and edge excitations of topological superfluids.  相似文献
