ABSTRACT

Most of fishing vessels pour plain ice into fish storages to maintain freshness of catches, which causes varying storage temperatures and changes in the salinity, and damages in catches. In contrast, seawater cooling systems that directly chill the seawater in the storage provide seawater with a constant temperature and salinity. Furthermore, the application of a flood-type evaporator enables the size of the system to be reduced due to the enhanced heat transfer performance of the evaporator. This study conducts experimental research on the boiling heat transfer characteristics of flood-type evaporators under various operating conditions. The test section of the experiment consists of the flood-type evaporator including tubes made of three different materials and having two different shapes, and R134a and R22 are used. As a result, low-fin tubes were found to present a higher heat transfer coefficient than that of the plain tube. Aluminum-brass low-fin tubes exhibited relatively 4.5% higher heat transfer coefficient than that of copper-nickel low-fin tubes when R22 was used, and relatively 5.3% higher value when the R134a was used. When R22 was used with an aluminum-brass low-fin tube, the heat transfer coefficient was relatively 6.9% higher than that when using R134a.  相似文献

High-frequency induction is an efficient way to heat mold surface by non-contact electromagnetic induction. It has been recently applied to injection molding because of its capability to heat and cool mold surface rapidly. This study applies high-frequency induction heating to eliminate weldlines in an injection-molded plastic part. To eliminate or reduce weldlines, the mold temperature at the corresponding weld locations should be maintained higher than the glass transition temperature of the resin material. Through 3 s of induction heating, the maximum temperature of 143 °C is obtained on the mold surface around the elliptic coil, while the temperature of the mold plate is lower than 60 °C. An injection molding experiment is then performed with the aid of induction heating, and the effect of induction heating conditions on the surface appearance of the weldline is investigated. The weldline on the heated region is almost eliminated, from which we can obtain the good surface appearance of the part.  相似文献

Great efforts in using non-photosynthetic bacteria as light-utilizing bacteria for producing biomaterials have been developed recently as increasing interest in renewable resources such as light energy. With respect to producing bio-materials industrially such as food ingredients and amino acids, huge amount of adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) is required. In this work, we developed a bio-ATP-synthesis system using ATP synthase of Escherichia coil as a biocatalyst and a microbial rhodopsin which is from primitive cyanobacteria, Gloeobacter violaceus. Gloeobacter rhodopsin (GR) is a light-driven proton pump. Besides electro-chemical gradient produced by cellular respiration system, GR produces a proton gradient using light illumination which is used in additional driving force of synthesizing ATP by ATP synthase. Inverted membrane vesicle was prepared so that it could be incorporated with both of GR and ATP synthase and produced ATP in the exterior side of the vesicle in the presence of light. Since inverted membrane vesicle does not contain precursors for ATP, we added ADP and inorganic phosphate (P(i)). Then, we measured the amounts of ATP produced by ATP synthase in the presence of light. As the average value of 6 samples, 4.79 x 10(-2) micromole of ATP produced for 1 microg of GR per minute. Also, we measured again after 7 days and 65 days, respectively, in order to check the stability of the bio-ATP-synthesis system. Amount of ATP produced decayed double-exponentially and an expected value of half-life of the system was 1.5 days and 39.7 days. Our results demonstrate that ATP was regenerated successfully by using GR and ATP synthase. However, the stability of ATP synthase should be increased to use this system industrially in the near future.  相似文献

Cultured muscle tissue-based protein products, also known as cultured meat, are produced through in vitro myogenesis involving muscle stem cell culture and differentiation, and mature muscle cell processing for flavor and texture. This review focuses on the in vitro myogenesis for cultured meat production. The muscle stem cell–based in vitro muscle tissue production consists of a sequential process: (1) muscle sampling for stem cell collection, (2) muscle tissue dissociation and muscle stem cell isolation, (3) primary cell culture, (4) upscaled cell culture, (5) muscle differentiation and maturation, and (6) muscle tissue harvest. Although muscle stem cell research is a well-established field, the majority of these steps remain to be underoptimized to enable the in vitro creation of edible muscle-derived meat products. The profound understanding of the process would help not only cultured meat production but also business sectors that have been seeking new biomaterials for the food industry. In this review, we discuss comprehensively and in detail each step of cutting-edge methods for cultured meat production. This would be meaningful for both academia and industry to prepare for the new era of cellular agriculture.  相似文献

We cloned an intronless, nuclear-encoded opsin gene from an EST library of Acetabularia acetabulum. Acetabularia rhodopsin I (ARI) encodes a protein of 246 amino acids with molecular weight of 27 kDa. ARI was reconstituted in the Xenopus oocyte expression system to characterize its electrophysiological properties utilizing the two-electrode voltage-clamping technique. Oocytes where ARI cRNA was injected displayed outward directed currents in response to light. The maximum action spectrum of ARI was detected at 520 nm green light. Light-stimulated ARI current amplitude was altered by the protons, but not by the other ions in recording solutions, suggesting that the algal rhodopsin is a light-stimulated proton pump. Typical proton-mediated outward current elicited by 520 nm light was characterized with two phases of non-inactivating outward current following initial transient current. Taken together, we here reported cloning of a novel Acetabularia opsin gene which was characterized to be a proton-pump stimulated by light.  相似文献

We investigated the light-induced conductivity changes of dry green light absorbing proteorhodopsin (GPR) using a metal-insulator-metal system (MIM). The steady-state and time-dependent current-voltage (I-V) characteristics were measured as a function of GPR concentration for different illumination conditions. As the photoconductivity of GPR in the dry film was varied due to the incident light intensity and the wavelength, we could directly observe the photoconductivity changes inside the GPR by measuring the I-V of the MIM system. In addition to these steady-state measurements, applied bias-dependent properties were studied. The optical absorption spectrum of the GPR film between 450 nm and 650 nm correlates with the action spectrum of the MIM system. The GPR maintained higher photoactivity under green light illumination, which is correlated with the formation of an M-like intermediate.  相似文献

We report the fabrication of ZnO based thin-film transistors (TFTs) with high-k gate insulator of Ti-substituted Bi1.5ZnNb1.5O7 (BZN) films. (Bi1.5Zn0.5)(Zn0.4Nb1.43Ti0.3O7) film deposited on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate by pulsed laser deposition at room temperature exhibits high dielectric constant of 73 at 100 kHz, while BZN film shows much lower dielectric constant of 50, respectively. The increasing dielectric constant with increasing Ti substitution can be attributed to the presence of a highly polarizable TiO6 octahedra and its strong correlation with the NbO6 octahedra. All room temperature processed ZnO based TFTs using Ti-substituted BZN gate insulator exhibited filed effect mobility of 0.75 cm2/Vs and low voltage device performance less than 2.5 V.  相似文献

Previous decision tree algorithms have used Mahalanobis distance for multiple continuous longitudinal response or generalized entropy index for multiple binary responses. However, these methods are limited to either continuous or binary responses. In this paper, we suggest a new tree-based method that can analyze any type of multiple responses by using a statistical approach, called GEE (generalized estimating equations). The value of this new technique is demonstrated with reference to an application using web-usage survey.
