Biphasic and nth-order models were tested as to their usefulness to fit experimental inactivation data of Bacillus licheniformis α-amylase, immobilized on glass beads, and were discussed with respect to their suitability to characterize the considered enzymic system as a time—temperature integrator (TTI) to evaluate heat processes. Both isothermal and non-isothermal inactivation experiments were carried out. Model (kinetic) parameters (rate constant k, activation energy EA and reaction order n) were estimated using a non-linear regression procedure. The results obtained, especially the activation energy of about 293 kJ mole–1 , indicated a potential use of this system as a TTI for heating processes in the temperature range of 96–108°C. 相似文献

Experiments were conducted to determine the effect of sample size and particle size on lipid oxidation of milled flaxseed. An initial experiment showed that most of the lipid oxidation detected in milled flaxseed samples occurred on the surface that was exposed to the air during storage. In a subsequent experiment, milled flaxseed at 100, 200 and 300 g were stored in the dark in rectangular pans for 8, 24 and 48 days at 50C. Lipid oxidation, as determined by surface lipid content, peroxide value and α-linolenic acid content, was lower in the 300 g samples than in the 100 g samples of milled flaxseed. Large versus small samples had less apparent lipid oxidation because of their inherently lower surface to volume ratio. In a third experiment, oxidation was lower in lipid extracted from coarse ( > 600 µm) than fine particles ( < 600 µm), after 48 days of storage.
This research has practical applications to the flaxseed milling and food industries. These results show that assessment of lipid oxidation in milled flaxseed needs to consider sample size (collection). Milled flaxseed oxidized predominantly at the sample surface where a polymerized layer of flaxseed particles formed over time. Relatively little oxidation occurred in the interior of the sample. This paper presents the development and testing of a multi objective fuzzy controller. It is dedicated to the control of thermal comfort and indoor air quality while minimising energy consumption and reducing instabilities are other constraints for this controller. After a brief introduction on the difficult task of indoor climate control, the test cell and its corresponding model is described in the second section. The model has been developed within TRNSYS. Section 3 describes the architecture of the fuzzy controller applied to these control objectives in the test cell. A hierarchical architecture has finally been selected since it is a very flexible architecture and it results in reducing the total number of fuzzy rules. The rule optimisation technique, based on genetic algorithms is also presented in the third section. Simulation results are finally presented. They prove that, after optimisation, the fuzzy controller greatly outperforms a typical ON-OFF controller on all control criteria. Energy consumption is in particular reduced by more than 10%. The fourth section of this chapter presents field experiments among 20 subjects of both ON-OFF control and fuzzy control. If major differences are not observed on the thermal comfort and indoor air quality point of view, these experiments however illustrate the importance of on-line tuning of specific fuzzy rules. 相似文献

The term urban renewal was introduced in France in the Loi solidarité et renouvellement urbains (Loi SRU) of December 13th, 2000. Until then, terms like renovation, reconstruction, recycling or refurbishment were used to indicate similar phenomena. Is the introduction of a new term only an innovation in vocabulary, or does it imply new orientations, conceptions and practices? It appears that ever since its introduction in 2000, the notion of urban renewal has been subject to variations in its meaning and in its implementation. A double regime of urban renewal exists. On the one hand, there are the operations officially labelled as urban renewal, which benefit from central state subsidies. These operations aim at a social urban development, and almost exclusively concern the so-called quartiers sensibles, large high-rise housing estates in the banlieus. The compressive strength of commercial high-density alumina was measured in several compressive biaxial stress states. The compressive strength was only slightly affected by the magnitude of the intermediate principal stress. The average value of the compressive strengths measured in all stress states, excluding the equibiaxial and the near-uniaxial compressive stress states, was 528 ksi. The average of the coefficients of variation was 3%. The tensile strength measured for the material indicates that the ratio of compressive strength to tensile strength is ∼ 18. 相似文献
