A method for determining the distribution of cationic shrink-resist resins on wool has been developed. The method is based on a staining technique, using an anionic fluorescent brightening agent (FBA) under specific conditions in which the FBA stains the cationic resin in preference to the wool. When the stained samples are observed under ultraviolet radiation by means of the optical microscope, the areas on the wool fibres where resin is located fluoresce, whereas areas free from resin appear dark. The technique is simple and rapid, and enables the regularity of deposition of cationic resins on wool to be followed when the various parameters which play a role in the pretreatment of the fibre and the application of resins are changed. Regularity of resin deposition is important in the achievement of high levels of shrink-resistance in treated fabrics. 相似文献

Single-plug conveying systems have the advantage of being easy to handle and highly controllable. In industry, however, multi-plug conveying systems are the most common choice due to their high transporting capacity. In order to study a multi-plug industrial conveying system, the system parameters were varied along with the materials being conveyed. The responses obtained were compared to the single-plug laboratory system, noting differences and similarities. The pneumatic conveying system at an industrial facility consisted of a 0.01 m Schedule 10 aluminum pipe, approximately 100 m long. To measure the pressure at different points along the system, a total of seven transducers were installed, four air transducers and three flush transducers. This study also used a high-speed video camera to view the plugs as they passed through the transparent viewing port, providing more detailed information on the multi-plug conveying process. Three materials were tested at different superficial air velocities and solid mass flows. In each experiment all transducers took data with a sample rate of 1,000 Hz, giving a highly detailed overview of the conveying process. The analysis included plug velocity and plug size with respect to the superficial air velocity. The Mi model for plug-flow pressure drops was found to yield agreement with the data within ±25%. For this type of industrial operation, this agreement is considered acceptable. The visual observations recorded with the camera showed that there were conditions of stable plug formation as well as varying degrees of plug stability and integrity depending on the operational conditions. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of three different somatic cell count (SCC) values on the sensory characteristics of sheep’s milk cheeses from the Castellana and Churra breeds (allowed for Protected Designation of Origin Zamorano cheese manufacture) and the Assaf breed (foreign), determined by typical consumers and instrumentally. The results show that the sensory characteristics of hardness, intensity of taste, and pungency reflect a significant influence of the SCCs of the original milk whereas breed significantly affects colour intensity and hardness (Warner‐Bratzler maximum shear force; WBSF). The exchange of 8.4% neutral detergent fiber (NDF) of wheat bran for 8.3% NDF of cellulose in diets containing either beef, chicken, fish or casein as protein sources did not (P>0.05) alter feed consumption, weight gain or energy intake in the protein efficiency ratio (PER) bioassay with weanling rats. Higher (P<0.05) fecal nitrogen (N) excretions and lower (P<0.05) N digestibilities occurred for each protein source when wheat bran was exchanged for cellulose. The exchange also had no effect (P>0.05) on PER or net protein ratio (NPR) of casein or fish protein or on NPR of chicken protein. Minimally processed high moisture pineapple bits prepared in sucrose syrups, in order to decrease water activity to 0.92, 0.95 and 0.97, were stored at 30, 35 and 40C and evaluated by selected and trained sensory panelists using the Karlsrühe Quality Test. Color, flavor and texture changes were significantly lower for the 0.92 aw product stored at 30C. Transmission electron microscopic examination of samples from fresh and 7 days-cold-stored white croaker skeletal muscle did not reveal apparent changes in overall structure of contractile elements of muscle. However, when purified myofibrils obtained from fresh and stored muscles were extracted with 0.6 M KI and the residues were examined in the scanning electron microscope, a progressive disappearance of exosarcomeric longitudinal filaments connecting successive Z structures was observed. Electrophoretic analysis of myofibrillar proteins obtained from fresh and stored muscles showed a marked degradation of nebulin, a major component of the endosarcomeric cytoskeletal network, whereas the other protein constituents of myofibrils remained practically unchanged. These alterations in elements of both cytoskeletal lattices of muscle may have important effects on physical properties of fish meat. 相似文献

A methodology is presented for planning the operation of the Fuerte-Carrizo irrigation system in northwest Mexico. The system has two storage dams, two irrigation districts, and water transfer capabilities between both dams. The methodology uses a combination of linear programming (LP) and simulation. The LP model maximizes the net return of the farmers, subject to restrictions of the system, availability of water and land, and water transfer relationships. The simulation model is programmed as a microcomputer interactive package simulating the performance of the system. The methodology has proven to be a useful tool to assist those responsible for the operation of the irrigation system. 相似文献
