A scalable and accurate simulation technique to be used for the computer-aided design (CAD) of matching networks employed within high-power RF transistors is presented. A novel measurement methodology is developed and utilized during the validation of the proposed analysis approach. Appropriate segmentation techniques were developed, which are consistent with the design approach of the high-power transistor, that take into account the overall complexity of the internal match of most modern RF high-power transistors, while preserving important electromagnetic interactions. By being able to properly decouple the linear portion of the overall packaged transistor model, an objective accuracy assessment via the comparison of measured versus simulated results of the internal matching network was accomplished. The level of accuracy obtained provides credence to the idea of a full CAD-driven design process of the internal match of high-power RF transistors.  相似文献

The rotational mobility of stable nitroxide radicals in PS, PMMA, PVC, PP and PE has been studied over a wide temperature range by the e.s.r. method. At temperatures T lower than Tg, spin probes act as kinetically independent particles, the rotational frequency of which is deter mined mainly by the micropore dimensions of the polymer and depends indirectly on the mobility of segments or side groups.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to gain better understanding of flow patterns and mixing conditions in a particular single‐screw extruder: the Buss Cokneader. To this end, the residence time distribution (RTD) of the polymer was investigated experimentally for different combinations of the operating variables (i.e. feed rate, screw rotation speed). The measurement of RTD used a standard stimulus‐response technique. Two kinds of tracer were used: free anthracene and anthracene grafted on the polymer. It was shown that only the second could characterize the actual flow of the polymer in the extruder. It does not perturb the flow and has the same rheological behavior as the studied fluid. Thanks to the RTD data, a model of the extruder based on the combination of ideal reactors, such as continuous stirred tank reactors or plug flow reactors, was finally set up. The establishment of relationships between model parameters and extrusion conditions allowed the prediction of RTD with good agreement.  相似文献

Skeletons are powerful geometric abstractions that provide useful representations for a number of geometric operations. The straight skeleton has a lower combinatorial complexity compared with the medial axis. Moreover, while the medial axis of a polyhedron is composed of quadric surfaces the straight skeleton just consist of planar faces. Although there exist several methods to compute the straight skeleton of a polygon, the straight skeleton of polyhedra has been paid much less attention. We require to compute the skeleton of very large datasets storing orthogonal polyhedra. Furthermore, we need to treat geometric degeneracies that usually arise when dealing with orthogonal polyhedra. We present a new approach so as to robustly compute the straight skeleton of orthogonal polyhedra. We follow a geometric technique that works directly with the boundary of an orthogonal polyhedron. Our approach is output sensitive with respect to the number of vertices of the skeleton and solves geometric degeneracies. Unlike the existing straight skeleton algorithms that shrink the object boundary to obtain the skeleton, our algorithm relies on the plane sweep paradigm. The resulting skeleton is only composed of axis‐aligned and 45° rotated planar faces and edges.  相似文献

PURPOSE: The excellent treatment results obtained with traditional radiosurgery have stimulated attempts to broaden the range of intracranial disorders treated with radiosurgical techniques. For major users of radiosurgery this resulted in a gradual shift from treating vascular diseases in a single session to treating small, well delineated primary tumors on a fractionated basis. In this paper we present the technique currently used in Montreal for the fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy of selected intracranial lesions. METHODS AND MATERIALS: The regimen of six fractions given every other day has been in use for "fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy" in our center for the past 5 years. Our current irradiation technique, however, evolved from our initial method of using the stereotactic frame for target localization and first treatment, and a "halo-ring" with tattoo skin marks for the subsequent treatments. Recently, we developed a more precise irradiation technique, based on an in-house-built stereotactic frame which is left attached to the patient's skull for the duration of the fractionated regimen. Patients are treated with the stereotactic dynamic rotation technique on a 10 MV linear accelerator (linac). RESULTS: In preparation for the first treatment, the stereotactic frame is attached to the patient's skull and the coordinates of the target center are determined. The dose distribution is then calculated, the target coordinates are marked onto a Lucite target localization box, and the patient is placed into the treatment position on the linac with the help of laser positioning devices. The Lucite target localization box is then removed, the target information is tattooed on the patient's skin, and the patient is given the first treatment. The tattoo marks in conjunction with the target information on the Lucite target localization box are used for patient set-up on the linac for the subsequent 5 treatments. The location of the target center is marked with radio-opaque markers on the target localization box and verified with a computerized tomography scanner prior to the second treatment. The same verification is done prior to other treatments when the target center indicated by the target localization box disagrees with that indicated by the tattoo marks. The new position of the target center is then determined and used for treatment positioning. CONCLUSION: The in-house-built frame is inexpensive and easily left attached to the patient's skull for the 12 day duration of the fractionated regimen. Positioning with the Lucite target localization box verified with tattoo marks ensures a high level of precision for individual fractionated treatments.  相似文献

The NOvA Neutrino Experiment has built a one‐of‐a‐kind self‐supporting plastic structure, potentially the largest ever built. The poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) structure serves as a neutrino detector and is composed of 28 individual blocks that measure 15.5 m (51 feet) high by 15.5 m (51 feet) wide by 2.1 m (7 feet) deep. The primary parts in the detector construction are 15.5‐m (51‐foot), 16‐cell PVC extrusions. These extrusions form the basis of the detector modules, which are laminated together in a crossed pattern to form the individual blocks and then filled with (mineral oil)–based liquid scintillator. The self‐supporting nature of the detector places important structural requirements on both the PVC formulation and the extrusions. Block assembly requirements impose narrow geometric tolerances. Because of the method of detecting neutrinos, the extrusions must possess exceptionally high reflectivity over a particular wavelength range. This requirement places additional restrictions on the components of the PVC formulation. Altogether, the PVC extrusions have to maintain important reflectivity characteristics, provide structural support to the detector, and meet relatively tight geometric requirements for assembly. In order to meet these constraints, a custom PVC formulation had to be created and extruded. We describe the purpose and requirements of the NOvA detector leading to the production of our unique PVC extrusion, summarize the research and development process, and discuss the lessons learned. The yeast SEC14 gene product is required for the transport of proteins from the Golgi complex. We have cloned the homologous Candida albicans SEC14 gene (CaSEC14) by functional complementation of a Saccharomyces cerevisiae thermosensitive mutant, sec14. Some putative TATA boxes have been identified in CaSEC14 and, contrary to S. cerevisiae SEC14, no introns were found in the Candida homologue. Sequence analysis revealed that CaSec14p is a 301 amino acid protein, 67% identical to S. cerevisiae and Kluyveromyces lactis Sec14p, and 61% identical to the 300 amino-terminal residues of Yarrowia lipolytica Sec14p. Hydrophatic profile analysis of CaSec14p suggests a soluble protein without transmembrane domains, as has been described for the S. cerevisiae counterpart. While it was easy to disrupt one allele of SEC14 in C. albicans, repeated attempts to disrupt the second allele were unsuccessful, thus suggesting that the gene could be essential for vegetative growth in C. albicans. Image acquisition technology is improving very fast from a performance point of view. However, there are physical restrictions that can only be solved using software processing strategies. This is particularly true in the case of super resolution (SR) methodologies. SR techniques have found a fertile application field in airborne and space optical acquisition platforms. Single-frame SR methods may be advantageous for some remote-sensing platforms and acquisition time conditions. The contributions of this article are basically two: (1) to present an overview of single-frame SR methods, making a comparative analysis of their performance in different and challenging remote-sensing scenarios, and (2) to propose a new single-frame SR taxonomy, and a common validation strategy. Finally, we should emphasize that, on the one hand, this is the first time, to the best of our knowledge, that such a review and analysis of single SR methods is made in the framework of remote sensing, and, on the other hand, that the new single-frame SR taxonomy is aimed at shedding some light when classifying some types of single-frame SR methods.  相似文献

Protoplasts of Saccharomyces cerevisiae incubated in regenerating conditions secrete cell wall components in order to allow the biosynthesis of this structure. During the first hours of incubation, many of these are not retained in the forming cell wall but remain in the medium. We have developed a method for collecting the secreted proteins and have analysed these by two-dimensional electrophoresis to obtain a reference map of putative cell wall proteins. Several proteins were identified by microsequencing or immunoblotting; namely, cell wall hydrolytic enzymes, heat shock proteins, glycolytic enzymes and others. Some beta-1,3- and beta-1, 6-glucosylation was detected in the proteins secreted by regenerating protoplasts.  相似文献
