The crystal structure and phonon densities of states (DOS) of β-SiAlON ceramics, Si6_ z Al z O z N8-z (0 < z < 4), prepared by a novel slipcast method, are studied by neutron-scattering techniques. The samples with z < 4 form a single-phase solid solution of Si-Al-O-N isostructural to β-Si3N4 (space group P 6 3/m). A consistent preferential occupation of the 2c sites by oxygen atoms and the 6 h sites by nitrogen atoms exists within this structure. The phonon DOS of β'-SiAlON displays phonon bands at ∼50 and 115 meV. These features are considerably broader than the corresponding ones in β-Si3N4 powder.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Biofortification aims to improve the micronutrient concentration of staple food crops through the best practices of breeding and modern biotechnology. However, increased zinc and iron concentrations in food crops may not always translate into proportional increases in absorbed zinc (Zn) and iron (Fe). Therefore, assessing iron and zinc bioavailability in biofortified crops is imperative to evaluate the efficacy of breeding programs. This review aimed to investigate the advantages and limitations of in vitro and in vivo methods of iron and zinc bioavailability evaluation in the assessment of biofortification program effectiveness. In vitro, animal and isotopic human studies have shown high iron and zinc bioavailability in biofortified staple food crops. Human studies provide direct knowledge regarding the effectiveness of biofortification, however, human studies are time consuming and are more expensive than in vitro and animal studies. Moreover, in vitro studies may be a useful preliminary screening method to identify promising plant cultivars, however, these studies cannot provide data that are directly applicable to humans. None of these methods provides complete information regarding mineral bioavailability, thus, a combination of these methods should be the most appropriate strategy to investigate the effectiveness of zinc and iron biofortification programs.  相似文献

Homogeneous grafting of styrene onto cellulose was carried out in a dimethylacetamide/lithium chloride solvent system. The grafted products were added to cellulose/polystyrene (PS) blends as compatibilizers. The thermal decomposition behavior of the blends was investigated by thermogravimetry. The thermal stability of the blends decreased with an increase in grafted product content. The crystallinity of the blends decreased with grafted product content. The microphase‐separated structures of the blends became finer with grafted product content. The glass transition temperatures for cellulose and PS in the blends were lowered with grafted product content. Differences in thermal decomposition behavior of the blends were correlated with compatibility. The morphology of CuO powders formed by a homogeneous precipitation process from aqueous copper precursor complex was investigated. The effect of 2.45 GHz microwave irradiation appeared in the characteristic morphology of the CuO microcrystal with comparison of an ordinal synthesis process. The crystallographic orientation of CuO microcrystals in the particle was examined by HRTEM. Using microwave irradiation, it was demonstrated that the morphology of the particles was kept through the decomposition of the precursor. Also the rapid transformation of a precursor to CuO in aqueous solution under microwave irradiation condition was discussed.  相似文献

Solid-state reaction between compositions and sintering behavior of powders at 600–1100°C were examined by x-ray diffraction, electron spin resonance and surface area measurement. Manganese-alumina catalyst, which was even subjected to heat treatment at 1000°C in air, had the NO removal conversion efficiency of 22% at 350–400°C Structural change and chemical state of alumina-supported manganese catalytic powders were studied for the purpose of the improvement of performance in automotive lean-burn NOx removal treatment for a model lean exhaust with high space velocity of 100,000 h–1. La-modification of support was effective to maintain high surface area of powder, however it did not lead to the improvement of NO removal activity for manganese-based catalyst.  相似文献

Mesoporous silica and mesoporous metallosilicates with Al, Ti and Fe as foreign metal species were successfully synthesized by the rapid room temperature method. Mesoporous metallosilicates with low contents of foreign metals possessed high surface area (Sa), large mesopore volume (Vmp) and highly ordered hexagonal mesoporous structure. Increases in foreign metal contents caused disordering the mesoporous structures and lowering the Sa and Vmp values. Bleaching of aqueous methylene blue (MB) by mesoporous silica and metallosilicates was investigated. Mesoporous aluminosilicate and ferrosilicate with cation-exchangeable ability showed the excellent property for the adsorption of MB of cationic dye, while mesoporous ferrosilicate and titanosilicate which absorbed UV lights catalyzed the photocatalytic decomposition of MB under UV-illumination.  相似文献

Isotropic spherulites of carbon stable at 2000° C were synthesized by the pressure pyrolysis of divinylbenzene polymer sealed in a capsule. The morphology of the synthesized carbon was pressure and temperature dependent being influenced by the state of polymerization of the starting polymer. Using a polymer prepared at atmospheric pressure and 150° C without catalyst, isolated spherulitic carbon was formed at 700° C and pressures of 1000 to 1250 kg cm–2. These spherulitic carbons were optically isotropic, hard and non-graphitizable after heat treatment at 2000° C. Such carbons originate in the co-existence of higher and lower molecular weight products of pressure pyrolysis and the survival cross-linkages in the original polymer.  相似文献
