Composite pellets which contain a reducing agent and are produced only by cold bonding process are improved instead of traditionally hardened pellets by sintering. The new ironmaking technologies that are able to utilize these pellets have been developed from pilot plant to commercial scale. Iron nuggets which have a similar composition to pig iron can be produced by using composite pellets at high temperatures (1350–1400°C) and in a short reduction time (15–20 min) by smelting reduction process. In this study, the effect of reduction parameters and basicity of composite pellets on the reduction properties and product quality are investigated. Composite pellets containing magnetite concentrate with a reducing agent (coke) and a flux are processed at different temperature and at times by smelting reduction process. The increasing temperature and time has a positive effect on reduction and melting of the pellets. Excessive carbon prevents the metal droplets from coalescing. The iron nugget that is produced from the sample with the basicity (CaO/SiO2) of 0.68 has the optimal physical and chemical properties. It is also determined that a decrease or increase of basicity has a negative effect on the properties of the iron nuggets.  相似文献

Brass ash from the industrial brass manufacturer in Turkey was leached using the solutions of ionic liquid (IL) 1-butyl-3-methyl-imi-dazolium hydrogen sulfate ([bmim]HSO4) at ambient pressure in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and potassium peroxymonosulfate (oxone) as the oxidants. Parameters affecting leaching efficiency, such as dissolution time, IL concentration, and oxidizing agent addition, were investigated. The results show that [bmim]HSO4 is an efficient IL for the brass ash leaching, providing the dissolution efficiencies of 99%for Zn and 24.82%for Cu at a concentration of 50vol%[bmim]HSO4 in the aqueous solution without any oxidant. However, more than 99%of zinc and 82%of copper are leached by the addition of 50vol%H2O2 to the [bmim]HSO4 solution. Nevertheless, the oxone does not show the promising oxidant behavior in leaching using [bmim]HSO4.  相似文献

Fluorine doped tin dioxide (FTO) coatings were deposited on AISI 304 stainless steel (SS) substrates using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) technique. Four different candidate insulating intermediate layers of TiO2, MgO, Al2O3 and SiO2 were selected and coated on AISI 304 SS using USP and investigated in order to overcome dielectric breakdown of FTO layer due to conductive nature of stainless steel substrate under the applied voltage. After the optimization of the process parameters for the depositions, only TiO2 layer was successfully deposited while other oxides did not form continuous films on AISI-304 SS surface despite the efforts. SEM analysis, supported by back-scatter imaging, revealed thickness values of the layers for FTO and TiO2, individually. Heating performances of the samples with varying sheet resistance values were examined under different applied voltages. Heating experiments showed that 300 °C can be reached with 10 V of applied voltage without occurrence of an electrical breakdown of FTO coating having 160 nm thickness with TiO2 intermediate layer of 660 nm. 28.6% efficiency for the conversion of electrical energy into heat was calculated for FTO coating while bare stainless steel showed only 7.3% efficiency. Later, the heating experiments were repetitively conducted and the samples were tested under high relative humid environment to determine their resistance against moist conditions.  相似文献

A study is carried out for hydrogenation of Mg based thin films produced via thermal evaporation. Films produced were pure Mg, Mg capped with Au–Pd, Mg–Cu co-deposited and Mg–Cu multilayered. The films under the experimental conditions employed were crystalline with columnar grains with some degree of preferred orientation. In multi-component systems, the films in the as-deposited state were made of individual elements, but upon hydrogenation at temperatures greater than 473 K, the elements react with each other yielding the intermetallic phases. The study showed that, of the systems studied in this work, Mg–Cu multilayer yielded the most favorable result as useful storage system, for Mg portion of the film can be converted totally into MgH2MgH2, this occurring at temperatures not greater than 473 K. The study implies that if the as-deposited structure were to be used and preserved as hydrogen storage medium, there is a narrow temperature window for hydrogenation.  相似文献

Electroinitiated polymerization of carbazole was achieved in acetonitrile by direct electron transfer via constant potential electrolysis based on anodic peak potentials. The anodic peak potential of carbazole was determined by cyclic voltammetry to be + 1.4V. It has been observed that polymer yield increased with some factors, such as time, monomer concentration, and polymerization potential. Conducting polycarbazole material obtained on a platinum anode electrode was characterized by FT‐IR, TGA, and conductance measurements. The conductivities of samples were measured to be about 10?3–10?4 S/cm by the four‐probe method. Temperature‐dependence of electrical resistance values of polycarbazole between 30°–125°C suggest that it can be used as a thermal sensor. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new and promising method for the diversification of microbial polyesters based on chemical modifications is introduced. Poly(3‐hydroxy alkanoate)‐g‐(poly(tetrahydrofuran)‐b‐poly(methyl methacrylate)) (PHA‐g‐(PTHF‐b‐PMMA)) multigraft copolymers were synthesized by the combination of cationic and free radical polymerization. PHA‐g‐PTHF graft copolymer was obtained by the cationic polymerization of THF initiated by the carbonium cations generated from the chlorinated PHAs, poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate‐co‐3‐hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV), and poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate‐co‐3‐hydroxyhexanoate) (PHBHx) in the presence of AgSbF6. Therefore, PHA‐g‐PTHF graft copolymers with hydroxyl ends were produced. In the presence of Ce+4 salt, these hydroxyl ends of the graft copolymer can initiate the redox polymerization of MMA to obtain PHA‐g‐(PTHF‐b‐PMMA) multigraft copolymer. Polymers obtained were purified by fractional precipitation. In this manner, their γ‐values (volume ratio of nonsolvent to the solvent) were also determined. Their molecular weights were determined by GPC technique. The structures were elucidated using 1H‐NMR and FTIR spectroscopy. In this study, thermal properties of the socks made from the blend of reclaimed cotton fibre and virgin polyester fibre are investigated in comparison with those of similar socks made from virgin cotton fibre, together with the influence of incorporated elastane. Statistical results reveal that elastane addition and fibre type significantly affect all of the thermal properties of the socks. Elastane addition leads to increase in the thermal conductivity, thermal resistance and thermal absorptivity values and decrease in the water vapour permeability values. The reclaimed fibre socks exhibit lower thermal conductivity and thermal absorptivity and higher thermal resistance than the cotton socks. The water vapour permeability results of the reclaimed fibre socks with no elastane are higher than those of the cotton socks with no elastane. The difference between the water vapour permeability of the reclaimed socks with elastane and the cotton socks with elastane is found to be statistically insignificant.  相似文献

In this study production of fine particle Fe2O3 via microwave processing of Fe(NO3)3.nH2O followed by low temperature annealing was reported. XRD was used to characterize the structural properties of nanoparticles. Approximate particle sizes were between 3-13 nm according to Scherrer's equation. Single point BET measurement results also show that samples have large surface area and they are nanometer sized particles. TEM study was conducted to examine the structure of the nanoparticles. TEM figure is in good agreement with the results obtained from Scherrer's equation using XRD spectra. In order to characterize the magnetic properties of the nanoparticles VSM (Vibrating Sample Magnetometer) was used. From these results it can be concluded that the sample containing only maghemite phase exhibits superparamagnetic behaviour, on the other hand sample containing both hematite and maghemite phases shows paramagnetic behaviour above 300 K, superparamagnetic behavior at lower temperatures.  相似文献

The increasing consumption of plastics inevitably results in increasing amounts of waste plastics. Because of their long degradation periods, these wastes negatively affect the natural environment. Numerous studies have been conducted to recycle and eliminate waste plastics. The potential for recycling waste plastics in the iron and steel industry has been underestimated; the high C and H contents of plastics may make them suitable as alternative reductants in the reduction process of iron ore. This study aims to substitute plastic wastes for coal in reduction melting process and to investigate their performance during reduction at high temperature. We used a common type of waste plastic, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), because of its high carbon and hydrogen contents. Composite pellets containing PET wastes, coke, and magnetite iron ore were reduced at selected temperatures of 1400 and 1450℃ for reduction time from 2 to 10 min to investigate the reduction melting behavior of these pellets. The results showed that an increased temperature and reduction time increased the reduction ratio of the pellets. The optimum experimental conditions for obtaining metallic iron (iron nuggets) were reduction at 1450℃ for 10 min using composite pellets containing 60% PET and 40% coke.  相似文献
