Given a set S of sites and a set O of weighted objects, an optimal location query finds the location(s) where introducing a new site maximizes the total weight of the objects that are closer to the new site than to any other site. With such a query, for instance, a franchise corporation (e.g., McDonald’s) can find a location to open a new store such that the number of potential store customers (i.e., people living close to the store) is maximized. Optimal location queries are computationally complex to compute and require efficient solutions that scale with large datasets. Previously, two specific approaches have been proposed for efficient computation of optimal location queries. However, they both assume p-norm distance (namely, L1 and L2/Euclidean); hence, they are not applicable where sites and objects are located on spatial networks. In this article, we focus on optimal network location (ONL) queries, i.e., optimal location queries in which objects and sites reside on a spatial network. We introduce two complementary approaches, namely EONL (short for Expansion-based ONL) and BONL (short for Bound-based ONL), which enable efficient computation of ONL queries with datasets of uniform and skewed distributions, respectively. Moreover, with an extensive experimental study we verify and compare the efficiency of our proposed approaches with real world datasets, and we demonstrate the importance of considering network distance (rather than p-norm distance) with ONL queries. 相似文献

In this study, multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCTs) is evaluated as a transducer, stabilizer and immobilization matrix for the construction of amperometric sensor based on iron-porphyrin. 5,10,15,20-Tetraphenyl-21H,23H-porphine iron(III) chloride (Fe(III)P) adsorbed on MWCNTs immobilized on the surface of glassy carbon electrode. Cyclic voltammograms of the Fe(III)P-incorporated-MWCNTs indicate a pair of well-defined and nearly reversible redox couple with surface confined characteristics at wide pH range (2-12). The surface coverage (Γ) and charge transfer rate constant (ks) of Fe(III)P immobilized on MWCNTs were 7.68 × 10−9 mol cm−2 and 1.8 s−1, respectively, indicating high loading ability of MWCNTs for Fe(III)P and great facilitation of the electron transfer between Fe(III)P and carbon nanotubes immobilized on the electrode surface. Modified electrodes exhibit excellent electrocatalytic activity toward reduction of ClO3−, IO3− and BrO3− in acidic solutions. The catalytic rate constants for catalytic reduction of bromate, chlorate and iodate were 6.8 × 103, 7.4 × 103 and 4.8 × 102 M−1 s−1, respectively. The hydrodynamic amperometry of rotating-modified electrode at constant potential versus reference electrode was used for detection of bromate, chlorate and iodate. The detection limit, linear calibration range and sensitivity for chlorate, bromate and iodate detections were 0.5 μM, 2 μM to 1 mM, 8.4 nA/μM, 0.6 μM, 2 μM to 0.15 mM, 11 nA/μM, and 2.5 μM, 10 μM to 4 mM and 1.5 nA/μM, respectively. Excellent electrochemical reversibility of the redox couple, good reproducibility, high stability, low detection limit, long life time, fast amperometric response time, wide linear concentration range, technical simplicity and possibility of rapid preparation are great advantages of this sensor. The obtained results show promising practical application of the Fe(III)P-MWCNTs-modified electrode as an amperometric sensor for chlorate, iodate and bromate detections. 相似文献

Crystalline α- and γ-Al2O3 exhibit in many applications high wear resistance, chemical resistance, and hot hardness, making them interesting materials for production engineering. To synthesize α-Al2O3 with high coating thickness of s ≥ 10 μm, chemical vapor deposition at temperatures T > 1000 °C is well established. However, there are almost no studies dealing with the synthesis of thick α-Al2O3 by physical vapor deposition (PVD) at high temperatures T > 700 °C. High-temperature deposition of thick coatings can be realized by means of the dense hollow cathode plasma, combined with the transport function of the plasma gas in high-speed (HS) PVD. Herein, crystalline α- and γ-Al2O3 films are deposited on cemented carbides at substrate temperatures T s ≈ 570 °C and T s ≈ 780 °C by HS-PVD. These coatings exhibit a thickness up to s = 20 μm. Moreover, phase analysis presents α-phases in coatings synthesized at substrate temperature of T s ≈ 780 °C with significant higher hardness than films by T s ≈ 570 °C. These release the potential of HS-PVD to synthesize α-Al2O3 coatings with high thickness. Thereby, a higher thickness of these coatings is beneficial for the wear protection of turning and die casting tools. 相似文献

In this paper, the effect of a gravel-bed in a compound bend (similar to sinusoidal top view) of a natural river (Zayandehrud
River flowing through Isfahan, Iran) has been investigated for flow resistance analysis, measuring the velocity with a micro
current meter. The data were analysed and the following observations were made.
In a compound bend, the law of the wall can be valid for up to 66% of the flow depth from the bed. The parabolic law is the
most effective method for the determination of shear velocity. Based on the existing criteria for verifying the equilibrium
boundary layer, the flow cannot be in equilibrium. The shear stress distribution and the sediment transport parameters have
considerable influence on resistance to flow. Froude number and the flow depth relative to the representative gravel size

Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) model is a technique used to evaluate the risk. This paper aimed to propose a new FMEA model combining technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) and belief structure to overcome the shortcomings of the traditional index of FMEA. In this paper, the fuzzy belief TOPSIS method is combined with FMEA to introduce a belief structure FMEA to describe the expert knowledge by a number of linguists as a grammatical phenomenon. Moreover, the weights of components in FMEA index can be different from each other. Therefore, the flexibility of assigning weight to each factor in this method is more compatible to the real decision-making situation. In other word, TOPSIS method is applied to determine the preference of alternatives versus risk criteria. Using linguistic terms in the fuzzy belief approach, the risk factors described a more meaningful value and decision-makers’ judgment is assigned with belief degrees through evaluation of factors. Finally, a numerical case study about the preference of cause failures of steel production process is provided to illustrate the process of proposed method, and then result and discussion is performed for each case. 相似文献

The transfer of quantum states plays an important role in quantum information processing. In fact, the transfer of a quantum state from point A to point B with unit fidelity has been the center of attention during the last decades. One of the ways to aim this goal is to transfer a quantum state in a spin chain described by designing a Hamiltonian in which a mirror symmetry with respect to the network center is created. In this paper, we introduce a method based on the spectral distribution of the adjacency matrix and stratifying a spin network, with respect to an arbitrary vertex denoted by o which is called starting vertex (reference vertex), to make perfect quantum state transfer possible between antipodes in the spin network. Then we design the coupling coefficients in a way to create a mirror symmetry in the Hamiltonian with respect to the center of the network. In this method the initial state is encoded on the starting vertex and then it is received at its antipode. There is no need to consider any external control in this approach. 相似文献

A facile method for the synthesis of thermotropic liquid crystalline cholesteryl cetyl ether (CCE) was carried out from cholesterol and cetyl alcohol using montmorillonite K-10 as an acid catalyst. The aim of this study was to investigate the use of liquid crystalline blends of CCE and cholesteryl oleyl carbonate (COC) with appropriate crystal to smectic phase temperature (T c?Cs) just above body temperature as a temperature-modulated drug permeation system. Using 30/70?mol ratio of COC/CCE, a mixture of desirable phase transition temperature was obtained. The phase transition behavior of COC/CCE binary liquid crystalline mixture was established by differential scanning calorimetry and polarizing optical microsopy. The COC/CCE-embedded cellulose nitrate membrane was used by an in vitro drug penetration studies. Paracetamol and mesalazine were chosen as hydrophobic and hydrophilic drug models, respectively. Paracetamol permeability through the membrane was higher at temperatures above the phase transition of liquid crystal (LC) blends (39?°C) than its permeability below the phase transition temperature of liquid crystal blends (30?°C). The drug penetration through LC-embedded cellulose membrane was influenced by the pore size of the membrane and therefore the adsorbed amount of LC. There was no penetration of mesalazine through that membrane presumably, due to the differences in hydrophilicity of LC-embedded membrane and permeated drug. 相似文献
