The fragile base-class problem (FBCP) has been described in the literature as a consequence of “misusing” inheritance and composition in object-oriented programming when (re)using frameworks. Many research works have focused on preventing the FBCP by proposing alternative mechanisms for reuse, but, to the best of our knowledge, there is no previous research work studying the prevalence and impact of the FBCP in real-world software systems. The goal of our work is thus twofold: (1) assess, in different systems, the prevalence of micro-architectures, called FBCS, that could lead to two aspects of the FBCP, (2) investigate the relation between the detected occurrences and the quality of the systems in terms of change and fault proneness, and (3) assess whether there exist bugs in these systems that are related to the FBCP. We therefore perform a quantitative and a qualitative study. Quantitatively, we analyse multiple versions of seven different open-source systems that use 58 different frameworks, resulting in 301 configurations. We detect in these systems 112,263 FBCS occurrences and we analyse whether classes playing the role of sub-classes in FBCS occurrences are more change and–or fault prone than other classes. Results show that classes participating in the analysed FBCS are neither more likely to change nor more likely to have faults. Qualitatively, we conduct a survey to confirm/infirm that some bugs are related to the FBCP. The survey involves 41 participants that analyse a total of 104 bugs of three open-source systems. Results indicate that none of the analysed bugs is related to the FBCP. Thus, despite large, rigorous quantitative and qualitative studies, we must conclude that the two aspects of the FBCP that we analyse may not be as problematic in terms of change and fault-proneness as previously thought in the literature. We propose reasons why the FBCP may not be so prevalent in the analysed systems and in other systems in general.  相似文献

The solubility of nine arylamine molecules in benzene, methanol and hexane was measured. These molecules were: triphenylamine, N-(4-methyl phenyl) N,N bis phenyl amine, N-(3-methyl phenyl) N,N bis phenyl amine, N,N-bis(4-methyl phenyl) N-phenyl amine, N,N-bis(3-methyl phenyl) N-phenyl amine, tritolylamine (N,N,N-tris-(4-methylphenyl)amine), N,N-bis-(4-methylphenyl)-N-(3-methylphenyl)amine, N,N-bis-(3-methylphenyl)-N-(4-methylphenyl)amine, and N,N,N-tris-(3-methylphenyl)amine. The solubility of these molecules was estimated using ideal solution theory, the Hildebrand equation, and UNIQUAC method. The ideal solution theory and the Hildebrand equation were not able to estimate solubility with high precision. However, UNIQUAC method was able to estimate the solubility with good accuracy. It was found that substitution of methyl group regardless of its number in aryl ring increases the solubility. In addition, meta-substitution always results in higher solubility regardless of the nature of the solvent. Physical properties, as well as electrochemical properties of these materials were also provided. Based on these data, the most promising candidates for device preparation should be: mTTA, TTA, mmmTTA, and mono-TPA. However, the only way to prove the above ranking would be to test the candidates in actual devices, which is outside the scope of this paper.  相似文献

Anionic polymerization of styrene in THF with n‐butyllithium/alpha‐methylstyrene initiator is described as a first step in preparation of a styrenic block copoly‐mer. In order to suppress rapid decay of living alpha‐methylstyrene unimers, which occurred at room temperature, the initiation reaction was carried out at ?20(+5)°C. The kinetic parameters of this decay reaction were determined and used for process optimization. By combining experiments with modelling of styrene propagation reaction all key process parameters were defined for l‐L, 38‐L, and 189‐L reactors. A good match was demonstrated between the model and experimental propagation exotherm for semibatch reaction conditions. Overall, it was demonstrated that technical grade THF and styrene could be used at pilot plant scale to prepare well‐defined polymers up to Mn 22 000 via the “living” polymerization mechanism. The resulting polymers had narrow molecular weight distributions (1.06 < Mw/Mn < 1.30).  相似文献

A method based on fuzzy associative memories for calculating the bandwidth of electrically thin and thick rectangular microstrip patch antennas is presented. The design parameters of the fuzzy associative memories are optimally determined by using the classical, modified and improved tabu search algorithms. The theoretical bandwidth results obtained by using the fuzzy associative memories are in very good agreement with the experimental results available in the literature.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The aims of this study were to examine the chemical composition of the essential oils and hexane extracts of the aerial parts of Satureja spicigera (C. Koch) Boiss., Thymus fallax Fisch. & CA Mey, Achillea biebersteinii Afan, and Achillea millefolium L. by GC and GC–MS, and to test antibacterial efficacy of essential oils and n‐hexane, chloroform, acetone and methanol extracts as an antibacterial and seed disinfectant against 25 agricultural plant pathogens. RESULTS: Thymol, carvacrol, p‐cymene, thymol methyl ether and γ‐terpinene were the main constituents of S. spicigera and T. fallax oils and hexane extracts. The main components of the oil of Achillea millefolium were 1,8‐cineole, δ‐cadinol and caryophyllene oxide, whereas the hexane extract of this species contained mainly n‐hexacosane, n‐tricosane and n‐heneicosane. The oils and hexane extracts of S. spicigera and T. fallax exhibited potent antibacterial activity over a broad spectrum against 25 phytopathogenic bacterial strains. Carvacrol and thymol, the major constituents of S. spicigera and T. fallax oils, also showed potent antibacterial effect against the bacteria tested. The oils of Achillea species showed weak antibacterial activity. Our results also revealed that the essential oil of S. spicigera, thymol and carvacrol could be used as potential disinfection agents against seed‐borne bacteria. CONCLUSION: Our results demonstrate that S. spicigera, T. fallax oils, carvacrol and thymol could become potentials for controlling certain important agricultural plant pathogenic bacteria and seed disinfectant. In this study, a maximum power point tracking DC–DC quadratic boost converter for high conversion ratio required applications is proposed. The proposed system consists of a quadratic boost converter with high step-up ratio and fuzzy logic based maximum power point tracking controller. The fuzzy logic based maximum power point tracking algorithm is used to generate the converter reference signal, and the change in PV power and the change in PV voltage are selected as fuzzy variables. Determined membership functions and fuzzy rules which are design to track the maximum power point of the PV system generates the output signal of the fuzzy logic controller's output. It is seen from MATLAB/Simulink simulation and experimental results that the quadratic boost converter provides high step-up function with robustness and stability. In addition, this process is achieved with low duty cycle ratio when compared to the traditional boost converter. Furthermore, simulation and experimental results have validated that the proposed system has fast response, and it is suitable for rapidly changing atmospheric conditions. The steady state maximum power point tracking efficiency of the proposed system is obtained as 99.10%. Besides, the output power oscillation of the converter, which is a major problem of the maximum power point trackers, is also reduced.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To identify the effect of Pasteurella haemolytica lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and leukotoxin (LKT) on spontaneous and calcium ionophore-induced histamine and inflammatory mediator release from isolated bovine lung parenchyma. SAMPLE POPULATION: Lungs from 8 healthy cattle. PROCEDURE: Isolated bovine lung parenchyma was incubated in vitro for 2 hours with LKT or LPS, and spontaneous and induced release of inflammatory mediators was determined. RESULTS: LKT and LPS increased spontaneous release of histamine and leukotriene B4. In addition, incubation with LPS increased spontaneous release of prostaglandin E2. Moreover, a differential effect of the 2 toxins on calcium ionophore-induced inflammatory mediator release was observed. LKT specifically primed isolated lung parenchyma to release leukotriene B4 and thromboxane B2 in response to calcium ionophore, whereas LPS did not alter the profile of prostanoids released by bovine lung tissue exposed to calcium ionophore. CONCLUSIONS: Pasteurella haemolytica toxins have a direct effect on bovine lung parenchyma, causing release of inflammatory mediators, which contribute to response to infection. Furthermore, bacterial toxins (LKT in this study) may sensitize tissues to the effects of other irritant stimuli, amplifying the inflammatory response.  相似文献
