Monitoring of electric field levels produced by base stations (BSs) for mobile telephones of different typologies (TACS. GSM, DCS) has been carried out. Results show that BSs can be classified as 'business' or 'residential'. The mean value of six minutes averaged E-field value measured between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. corresponds to the 84% of the maximum daily six minutes averaged value. Comparison between electromagnetic field levels produced by BSs and their phone traffic data, supplied by companies, is shown. Finally, on an hourly average basis, a daily curve has been constructed of the exposure trend produced by such installations.  相似文献

The present study focuses upon the effect of the impeller on sinking and floating behavior of suspending particles in stirred tank reactor, employing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation where factorial design is used to investigate the main and interaction effects of design parameters on the particle distribution performance of four typical impeller designs. Factorial design results show the effect of diameter and width of the impeller and off-bottom clearance on sinking particles is different from that of floating particles and regression equations for sinking particles and floating particles are achieved separately. Meanwhile, optimal equations which quantitatively reveal the effect of impeller factors on suspension quality and energy input is established for impeller improvement. Besides the development of computational models, the combination of CFD simulation with factorial design method provides a useful approach to gain insight into the suspension behavior of sinking and floating particles, also it guides to optimize the impeller design.  相似文献

Ricotta is a highly perishable cheese of which shelf-life is strongly influenced by the properties of packages in which it is stored. Four plastic packages currently in use in Italy (IT), Romania (RO), Slovenia (SLO), and Spain (SP) are characterized in term of structure, barrier, and antimicrobial properties, and their efficiency in the ricotta storage at 4°C is assessed. Differential scanning calorimetry and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis indicate that the IT and SP packages are made of low-density polyethylene and the RO and SLO packages consist of polyethylene and polyamide 6. Permeability to the water vapour and oxygen transmission rate vary as follows: IT>SLO > RO > SP and SP > IT>RO > SLO, respectively. The SP package expressed the highest antimicrobial inhibition whilst the IT package the lowest. The maximum amounts of volatile compounds in cheese were reached after 3 days in the IT and SP packages and after 6 days in the SLO and RO packages. The score 2.8 for cheese overall acceptability was exceeded after 7 days in the IT, RO, and SP packages and 6 days in the SLO package. Barrier properties of packages significantly influence the shelf-life of ricotta. Low barrier properties resulted in high level of oxygen and water vapours inside the headspace of packages ultimately favour the microbial development. The simultaneous compliance of microbiological safety level and overall acceptability score gives ricotta a shelf-life of 3 days in the IT, RO, and SP packages and 1 day in the SLO package.  相似文献

Periodic pseudopotential Hartree–Fock calculations have been performed on the cristobalite strucure of silica and germanium dioxide in order to investigate the topology of the ground-state Born–Oppenheimer energy surface. For both oxides the averaged X–O bond lengths, the two unequivalent O–X–O bond angles, and the tilt angle have been optimized. The tilt angle, which measures the rotation of the XO4 tetrahedra around their local C 2 axes, is directly related to the O–X–O bond angle and connects the low-temperature phase twin structures; its zero corresponds to the ideal β-phase. For SiO2 the calculated values of these coordinates agree within 1% with 10 K experimental data whereas for GeO2 the agreement between calculation and experiment is much less satisfactory. It is shown that the tilt angle is the most important structural parameter. The structure of β-cristobalite is rationalized on the basis of the energy dependence upon tilt angle and the absence of β-structure in GeO2 is explained. The one-electron properties, i.e., band structure and density of states, have been calculated and are compared with the results of previous calculations carried out by other methods. As expected in Hartree-Fock calculations, the band gap is overestimated. The analysis of the calculated electron density and of density of states projected onto basis orbitals indicates that these oxides are mostly ionic. It is also shown that the GeO bond is more covalent than the SiO one, which explains the different behavior of these two oxides.  相似文献

A molecular machine is an assembly of molecular components (i.e., a supramolecular structure) designed to perform specific mechanical movements in response to external stimuli. Biomolecular machines are essential for living organisms and are proven examples of the feasibility and utility of nanotechnology. Artificial molecular machines have been built in the laboratory and their use for smart materials and devices is the subject of much investigation. Here we discuss molecular machines based on rotaxane-like species, whose operation depends both on the type and sequencing of stimuli. These systems have the potential to store information and when carefully designed, the interplay of thermodynamic and kinetic features of supramolecular assemblies can yield sequential behavior. The investigation of ‘intelligent’ molecules capable of recognizing a specific input code can introduce new concepts to the field of chemistry and stimulate research in the bottom-up construction of nanodevices.  相似文献

The benefits of wholegrain finger millet and sorghum were combined with that of fructan in form of fructoligosaccharide in the pilot-scale production (10 kg) of cookies. Complete nutritional analysis of the cookies was carried out to provide nutritional information to the consumers. Whole-multigrain cookies with fructan can be categorized as "High Fiber" as they suffice 21% daily value (DV) of fiber and a "Good Source" of iron as they suffice 12.8% DV of iron. A total of 300 consumers (M=110 and F=190), aged between 8 and 66 y evaluated cookies. The overall acceptability (OAA) score of 300 consumers was 8.0±0.58 on a 9-point hedonic scale. Females rated cookies significantly (P<0.05) higher than males in terms of flavor, texture, appearance, and OAA. Males rated cookies significantly (P<0.05) higher on color attribute than females. Encouraging response of consumers signified ample scope for viability and marketability of cookies at the commercial scale. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: Consumers are looking at snack and convenience foods to provide increased fiber in their diet and there is a tremendous interest in low-calorie and low-sugar foods. The demand of whole and multigrain products is also on the rise because of the Government's emphasis. The present study would assist in assessing feasibility of commercial production of such novel health foods. Together with this, it will ascertain the marketability and commercial viability of the product by means of the consumer preference trials. Availability of such cookies in the market would offer consumers "health" with "convenience" and "taste."  相似文献
