The scalar transform is a new representation for signals, offering a perspective that is different from the Fourier transform. We introduce the notion of a scalar periodic function. These functions are then represented through the discrete scale series. We also define the notion of a strictly scale-limited signal. Analogous to the Shannon interpolation formula, we show that such signals can be exactly reconstructed from exponentially spaced samples of the signal in the time domain. As an interesting, practical application, we show how properties unique to the scale transform make it very useful in computing depth maps of a scene  相似文献

Purpose: To exploit the potential of proteomics to identify and study additional yet‐unidentified important proteins present in human endometrium. Experimental design: The proteome of human endometrium would be established using 2‐DE and MALDI and the data analyzed to identify differential protein expression in the proliferative and secretory phase of the menstrual cycle using PDQuest software and MALDI. Results: In the present work, 2‐DE of human endometrium protein led to the resolution of over 200 spots. Subsequent MALDI analysis of 215 spots allowed the identification of 194 proteins. A total of 57 out of the 215 spots were found to be differentially expressed, out of which 49 could be identified using MALDI. These differentially expressed proteins included structural proteins, molecular chaperones, signaling proteins, metabolic proteins, proteins related to immunity, RNA biogenesis, protein biosynthesis and others. The differential expressions of seven representative proteins in secretory and proliferative phase endometrium tissue were confirmed by immunoblot analysis. Conclusion and clinical relevance: This study establishes the 2‐D proteome of human endometrium represented by 194 identified protein spots. The present data provides an important clue towards determining the function of these proteins with respect to endometrium related diseases.  相似文献

The quasi-static approximation, which assumes that free-carrier propagation delay in the semiconductor device is zero, is often used in device modeling. Consequently, the quasi-static model is adequate only for low-frequency excitations for which free-carrier propagation delay is very small compared to the variation of the excitations. This paper develops a non-quasi-static model suitable for metal-semiconductor junction diodes subjected to small-signal excitation. We show that the predictions of the non-quasi-static model agree more favourably with experimental data taken from Al---Si diodes than that of the quasi-static model, particularly when the frequency of the excitation is high.  相似文献

Millimeter wave (MMW) radiometry can be used for simultaneous measurement of emissivity and temperature of materials under extreme environments such as in slagging coal gasifiers, where sensors have been identified as a key enabling technology need for process optimization. We present a dual-channel MMW heterodyne radiometer with active interferometric capability that allows simultaneous measurements of sample temperature, emissivity, and flow dynamics. Interferometric capability at 137 GHz is supplied via a probe signal originating from a local oscillator allowing monitoring of sample dynamics such as volume expansion and thickness change. This capability has been used to monitor characteristic behavior between refractories and slag such as slag infiltration, slag melting, viscous flow, foaming, and crucible corrosion by the molten slag. These results show the promise of the MMW system for extracting process parameters from operating slagging coal gasifiers, providing valuable information for process efficiency, control, and increased productivity.  相似文献

Novel biological vascular conduits, such as decellularized tissue engineered vascular grafts (TEVGs) are hindered by high thrombogenicity. To mimic the antithrombogenic surface of native vessels with a continuous glycosaminoglycan layer that is present on endothelial cells (ECs), a hyaluronic acid (HA) modified surface is established, to effectively shield blood platelets from collagen‐triggered activation. Using the amine groups present on 4 mm diameter decellularized TEVGs, a continuous HA hydrogel coating is built via a bifunctional thiol‐reactive cross‐linker, thereby avoiding nonspecific collagen matrix cross‐linking. The HA hydrogel layer recreates a luminal wall, “hiding” exposed collagen from the bloodstream. In vitro blood tests show that adhered platelets, fibrinogen absorption, and fibrin formation on HA‐coated decellularized TEVGs are significantly lower than on uncoated decellularized TEVGs. The HA surface also inhibits macrophage adhesion in vitro. HA‐coated decellularized syngeneic rat aortae (≈1.5 mm diameter), and TEVGs in rat and canine models, respectively, are protected from aggressive thrombus formation, and preserve normal blood flow. Re‐endothelialization is also observed. HA‐coated TEVGs may be an off‐the‐shelf small‐diameter vascular graft with dual benefits: antithrombogenic protection and promotion of endothelium.  相似文献
