Two mechanisms that verify knowledge contributions in electronic repositories are expert-governance and community-governance. Our goal is to examine repository users' perceptions of the conditions under which these mechanisms verify knowledge contributions. Qualitative data show that perceived credibility of experts, perceived ownership of content, and experts' (meticulous) execution of governance functions are salient for expert-governance, and the perceived involvement of community members, and community members' (continuous and collective) execution of governance functions are important for community-governance.  相似文献

This paper presents the analytical models of power consumption in macrocell, microcell, picocell and femtocell based networks. Five case studies are presented in this paper where macrocells, microcells, picocells and femtocells are deployed based on the number of mobile subscribers present in a region, mobile user traffic in that region and the area of the region where cellular coverage has to be provided. A comparative study is performed between the power consumption by the base stations in each of these five cases and that of the only macrocell based network. The simulation results demonstrate that using each of these five strategies the power consumption by the base stations can be minimized than that of only macrocell based network. Based on the power consumption by the base stations in these five schemes, we have categorized the networks into five classes, A, B, C, D and E, each of which contains cells of different types to reduce power consumption to achieve green cellular network.  相似文献

Structural changes accompanying thermal transformation in a chrysotile asbestos sample of Indian origin upto a temperature of 900°C have been investigated by x-ray method. The changes in lattice parameters have been systematically measured by applying a least square refinement technique and the crystallite size and strain defects at different stages have been estimated by line profile analysis of the diffraction peaks. The present study also confirms the earlier results on stepwise transformation of chrysotile fibres. This sequence of transformation has been explained assuming two different types of crystallites as reported in kaolinite.  相似文献

We theoretically analyse the optical and optomechanical nonlinearity present in a hybrid system consisting of a quantum dot(QD) coupled to an optomechanical cavity in the presence of a nonlinear Kerr medium, and show that this hybrid system can be used as an all optical switch. A high degree of control and tunability via the QD-cavity coupling strength, the Kerr and the optomechanical nonlinearity over the bistable behaviour shown by the mean intracavity optical field and the power transmission of the weak probe field can be achieved.The results obtained in this investigation has the potential to be used for designing efficient all-optical switch and high sensitive sensors for use in Telecom systems.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We theoretically investigate optical bistability/multistability for all optical switching signature in a hybrid semiconductor microcavity system comprising a quantum well and a Kerr nonlinear substrate. The system is essentially two optically coupled microcavities with one of the microcavity being driven by an external amplitude-modulated pump laser. We show that the switching between bistable and multistable behaviour is influenced by the modulated pump laser, Kerr nonlinearity and the optical coupling between the two microcavities. We further investigate the intracavity spectrum of quantum fluctuations which exhibit the well-known normal mode splitting (NMS). The NMS behaviour is also found to be influenced by the system parameters. These results demonstrate that the present hybrid nonlinear system can be used in designing sensitive optical devices.  相似文献

An understanding of the correlation between the durability under different corroding conditions and the corresponding structural variations of silicates, is highly essential for their proper utilization in modern technology. To achieve this, a sample of fibrous chain silicate (tremolite) was subjected to various mechanical and chemical treatments and the resulting samples were analysed by X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and infrared spectroscopy. Several interesting results on chemical corrosion have been obtained. Attempts have been made to establish a correlation between these results with the X-ray diffraction data.
