Influence of CO2 inleakage on the slight-alkalization of generator internal cooling water

The slight-alkalization of generator internal cooling water (GICW) is widely used to inhibit the corrosion of hollow copper conductor and thereby ensure the safe operation of the generator. CO₂ inleakage is increasingly identified as a potential security risk for GICW system. In this paper, the influence of CO₂ inleakage on the slight-alkalization of GICW was theoretically discussed. Based on the equilibriums of the CO₂-NaOH-H₂O system, CO₂ inleakage saturation was derived to quantify the amount of the dissolved CO₂ in GICW. This parameter can be directly calculated with the measured conductivity and the [Na⁺] of GICW. The influence of CO₂ inleakage on the slight-alkalization conditioning of GICW and the measurement of its water quality parameters were then analyzed. The more severe the inleakage, the narrower the water quality operation ranges of GICW, resulting in the more difficult the slight-alkalization conditioning of GICW. The temperature calibrations of the conductivity and the pH value of GICW show non-linear correlations with the amount of CO₂ inleakage and the NaOH dosage. This study provides insights into the influence of CO₂ inleakage on the slight-alkalization of GICW, which can serve as the theoretical basis for the actual slight-alkalization when CO₂ inleakage occurs.

P-doped CoSe2 nanoparticles embedded in 3D honeycomb-like carbon network for long cycle-life Na-ion batteries

We report for the first time a Na-ion battery anode material composed of P-doped CoSe2 nanoparticles(P-CoSe2)with the size of 5-20 nm that are uniformly embed in a 3D porous honeycomb-like carbon network.High rate capability and cycling stability are achieved simultaneously.The honeycomb-like carbon network is rationally designed to support high electrical conductivity,rapid Na-ion diffusion as well as the accommodation of the volume expansion from the active P-CoSe2 nanoparticles.In particular,heteroatom P-doping within CoSe2 introduces stronger P-Co bonds and additional P-Se bonds that signif-icantly improve the structure stability of P-CoSe2 for highly stable sodiation/desodiation over long-term cycling.P-doping also improves the electrical conductivity of the CoSe2 nanoparticles,leading to highly elevated electrochemical kinetics to deliver high specific capacities at high current densities.Benefiting from the unique nanostructure and atomic-level P-doping,the P-CoSe2(2∶1)/C anode delivers an excel-lent cycle stability with a specific capacity of 206.9 mA h g-1 achieved at 2000 mA g-1 after 1000 cycles.In addition,this material can be synthesized using a facile pyrolysis and selenization/phosphorization approach.This study provides new opportunities of heteroatom doping as an effective method to improve the cycling stability of Na-ion anode materials.     

Thermochromic Silks for Temperature Management and Dynamic Textile Displays

Silks have various advantages compared with synthetic polymer fibers,such as sustainability,mechanical properties,luster,as well as air and humidity permeability.However,the functionalization of silks has not yet been fully developed.Functionalization techniques that retain or even improve the sustainability of silk production are required.To this end,a low-cost,effective,and scalable strategy to produce TCSs by integrating yarn-spinning and continuous dip coating technique is developed herein.TCSs with extremely long length(>10 km),high mechanical performance(strength of 443.1 MPa,toughness of 56.0 MJ m?3,comparable with natural cocoon silk),and good interfacial bonding were developed.TCSs can be automatically woven into arbitrary fabrics,which feature super-hydrophobicity as well as rapid and programmable thermochromic responses with good cyclic performance:the response speed reached to one second and remained stable after hundreds of tests.Finally,applications of TCS fabrics in temperature management and dynamic textile displays are demonstrated,confirming their application potential in smart textiles,wearable devices,flexible displays,and human–machine interfaces.Moreover,combination of the fabrication and the demonstrated applications is expected to bridge the gap between lab research and industry and accelerate the commercialization of TCSs.
