Equilibrium analysis of cellular neural networks

Cellular neural networks (CNNs) are dynamical systems, described by a large set of coupled nonlinear differential equations. The equilibrium-point analysis is an important step for understanding the global dynamics and for providing design rules. We yield a set of sufficient conditions (and a simple algorithm for checking them) ensuring the existence of at least one stable equilibrium point. Such conditions give rise to simple constraints, that extend the class of CNNs, for which the existence of a stable equilibrium point is rigorously proved. In addition, they are suitable for design and easy to check, because they are directly expressed in term of the template elements.     

On state equations of two‐level quantum systems in a thermal environment

The state equations of open two‐level quantum systems, which form the building blocks of quantum cellular neural networks, are studied in arbitrary representations. It is shown that the dissipation matrix, that under the usual assumptions is diagonal in the energy representation, such remains if and only if the coupling between the states induced by an external field is real and infinitesimal. Matrine Exerts a Strong Anti-Arthritic Effect on Type II Collagen-Induced Arthritis in Rats by Inhibiting Inflammatory Responses

To investigate anti-arthritic effects of matrine isolated from the roots of S. flavescens on type II collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) in rats and to explore its related potential mechanisms, CIA rats were established and administered with matrine (20, 40 or 80 mg/kg/days, for 30 days). Subsequently, blood was collected to determine serum levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-17A, IL-10, MMP-2, MMP-3 and MMP-9, and hind paws and knee joints were collected for histopathological examination. Furthermore, indices of the thymus and spleen were determined, and synovial tissues were collected to determine the protein expressions of p-IκB, IκB, Cox-2 and iNOS. Our results indicated that matrine significantly suppressed inflammatory reactions and synovial tissue destruction. Matrine inhibited paw swelling, arthritis indices and weight loss in CIA rats. Additionally, matrine decreased the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-17A, MMP-2, MMP-3 and MMP-9. Matrine also down-regulated expressions of p-IκB, Cox-2, and iNOS but up-regulated IκB in synovial tissues in CIA rats. The results suggested matrine possesses an anti-arthritic effect in CIA rats via inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and proteins that promote the NF-κB pathway.     

畜产品中霉菌毒素残留危害、防控及检测技术

霉菌毒素广泛存在于饲料中,我国饲料中霉菌毒素检出率高达90%,其中对畜牧业危害最大的霉菌毒素主要有6种。畜禽食用了这样的饲料,霉菌毒素会引起畜禽的慢性中毒、疾病甚至死亡,饲料霉变产生的霉菌毒素被动物采食后,可能被机体的肠肝循环中被反复重吸收。因此,霉菌毒素会在动物机体的各个组织、内脏、鸡蛋、牛奶中残留形成残留。人食用了这样的畜产品,会对人类的健康产生很大的潜在威胁,甚至导致畸、致突变、致癌、肝中毒、肾中毒等危害。本研究简要介绍了目前霉菌毒素的防控措施、脱毒方法、检测技术等方法的研究进展,以期对霉菌毒素的防治起到一定的参考作用。     

斯特林机菱形传动机构动力学建模与刚柔耦合问题求解

目前斯特林机的数字化样机广泛采用多刚体力学理论建立,忽略了运动过程中传动构件的弹性变形与内应力作用,难以准确反映斯特林机及菱形传动机构的真实工作过程。针对斯特林机及菱形传动机构复杂的运动学与动力学特性,基于三维建模技术、有限元方法和多体动力学理论建立其菱形传动机构的刚柔耦合模型。通过刚柔耦合动力学问题求解,获得了配气活塞和动力活塞的位移、速度、加速度等运动规律,分析了柔性化连杆对斯特林机配气活塞与动力活塞运动过程的影响,验证了斯特林机在启动阶段的波动情况。分析结果为深入分析连杆应力应变动态响应提供了更加准确的边界条件,也为斯特林机结构开发与优化设计提供了借鉴方法。     

Molecular Targeting of the Oncoprotein PLK1 in Pediatric Acute Myeloid Leukemia: RO3280, a Novel PLK1 Inhibitor,Induces Apoptosis in Leukemia Cells

Polo-like kinase 1 (PLK1) is highly expressed in many cancers and therefore a biomarker of transformation and potential target for the development of cancer-specific small molecule drugs. RO3280 was recently identified as a novel PLK1 inhibitor; however its therapeutic effects in leukemia treatment are still unknown. We found that the PLK1 protein was highly expressed in leukemia cell lines as well as 73.3% (11/15) of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) samples. PLK1 mRNA expression was significantly higher in AML samples compared with control samples (82.95 ± 110.28 vs. 6.36 ± 6.35; p < 0.001). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis revealed that shorter survival time correlated with high tumor PLK1 expression (p = 0.002). The 50% inhibitory concentration (IC₅₀) of RO3280 for acute leukemia cells was between 74 and 797 nM. The IC₅₀ of RO3280 in primary acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) and AML cells was between 35.49 and 110.76 nM and 52.80 and 147.50 nM, respectively. RO3280 induced apoptosis and cell cycle disorder in leukemia cells. RO3280 treatment regulated several apoptosis-associated genes. The regulation of DCC, CDKN1A, BTK, and SOCS2 was verified by western blot. These results provide insights into the potential use of RO3280 for AML therapy; however, the underlying mechanisms remain to be determined.

An Application of Extreme Value Theory for Measuring Financial Risk

Assessing the probability of rare and extreme events is an important issue in the risk management of financial portfolios. Extreme value theory provides the solid fundamentals needed for the statistical modelling of such events and the computation of extreme risk measures. The focus of the paper is on the use of extreme value theory to compute tail risk measures and the related confidence intervals, applying it to several major stock market indices.
