Total lipid and phospholipid contents of liver, skin and depot fat from yearling hen turkeys have been studied. Liver lipid averaged 88.5 mg/g wet tissue; skin, 385.0 and depot fat, 753.5. Phospholipids comprised 32.05% of total lipid of liver, but only 0.81% of skin and 0.46% of depot fat. Fatty acids of liver differed from those of skin or depot fat by larger amounts of 16∶0, 18∶0, 20∶4, 22∶0 and 24∶0, and smaller amounts of 16∶1, 18∶1, 18∶2, 18∶3 and 20∶0. Traditional relational database systems handle data by dividing their memory into sections such as a buffer cache and working memory, assigning a memory budget to each section to efficiently manage a limited amount of overall memory. They also assign memory budgets to memory-intensive operators such as sorts and joins and control the allocation of memory to these operators; each memory-intensive operator attempts to maximize its memory usage to reduce disk I/O cost. Implementing such memory-intensive operators requires a careful design and application of appropriate algorithms that properly utilize memory. Today's Big Data management systems need the ability to handle large amounts of data similarly, as it is unrealistic to assume that truly big data will fit into memory. In this article, we share our memory management experiences in Apache AsterixDB, an open-source Big Data management software platform that scales out horizontally on shared-nothing commodity computing clusters. We describe the implementation of AsterixDB's memory-intensive operators and their designs related to memory management. We also discuss memory management at the global (cluster) level. We conducted an experimental study using several synthetic and real datasets to explore the impact of this work. We believe that future Big Data management system builders can benefit from these experiences.  相似文献

The effects of temperature (25 C) and time (2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, 48, 72, 96 hours and 5, 13, and 19 days) were determined on thawed samples of Anaplasma marginale-infected erythrocytes cryogenically preserved with dimethyl sulfoxide and frozen in liquid nitrogen. Inoculation into splenectomized calves indicated that infectivity was not destroyed by either time or temperature from 2 to 72 hours, but was destroyed at 96 hours. The incubation periods of the disease in inoculated splenectomized calves increased in proportion to the length of time the samples were held at 25C.  相似文献

A patient is presented who suffered a lateral brainstem infarction which selectively abolished pain and temperature sensitivity in the lower right limb. One year later central post-stroke pain had developed in the affected limb with touch and cold allodynia. P40m dipoles calculated from magnetoencephalographic fields after electrical stimulation of both tibial nerves were localized in SI as is seen in normal subjects. However, stimulation of the affected side caused deep pain sensations and elicited a large N80m component, best explained by an additionally active dipole in cingulate cortex. This early co-activation in a limbic structure suggests peripheral Abeta-fiber mediation and lemniscal projection. Abnormal link to the pain system may be due to sensitization and reorganization above the level of nociceptive deafferentation.  相似文献

Thirty-one adult patients with clinical findings suggestive of pheochromocytoma were studied with I-123 MIBG. All patients had images obtained at 24 and 48 hours. Five patients had abnormal uptake proved to be because of I-123 MIBG avid tumors. The remaining 26 patients had no proven tumors and showed physiologic uptake in various organs. The 24-hour images were of high quality. In all cases, the 48-hour images contributed no significant additional information. Only in 1 patient did the 48-hour image add some certainty. Physiologic uptake was seen in the salivary glands, liver, G.I. tract, and urinary bladder in all patients (100%). Uptake was also observed in the lung and heart (90%), normal adrenal glands (32%), thyroid (29%), spleen (23%) uterus (13%), and neck muscles (6%). The authors' experience indicates that I-123 MIBG gives superior images compared to the previously used I-131 MIBG, that the optimum imaging time for adults is 18-24 hours, and that normal distribution patterns including uterine and neck muscle uptake should be familiar to physicians interpreting the studies.  相似文献

Residents along the shoreline of Lake Malawi depend on nearshore water for drinking, cooking, and bathing. Despite the importance of clean nearshore waters to public health, we are aware of no published studies of shoreline water quality in the lake. To address this gap, we explore seasonal and temporal trends of the fecal indicator bacteria Escherichia coli (E. coli) in nearshore water and sand. E. coli concentrations in sand ranged from 0 to 17,600 colony forming units (CFU)/100?ml, and in water concentrations ranged from 0 to 21,200?CFU/100?ml. Fifty-three percent of water samples exceeded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Recreational Water Quality Criteria of 126?CFU/100?ml, and 90% exceeded the World Health Organization drinking water standard of 0?CFU/100?ml. Distance from shore was the variable most predictive of E. coli concentration, with the level of beach use also playing a significant role. At 15?m from the shore, E. coli concentrations dropped to between 0.3% and 17% of shoreline values. Results suggest that the collection of water at distances >15?m from the beach could substantially decrease exposure to fecal bacteria. Further studies are needed to identify sources of fecal pollution and to determine the utility of E. coli as a predictor of the potential for waterborne disease.  相似文献

Stable isotope ratios of three seston size classes (20–100 μm, 2–20 μm, and 0.2–2 μm) and zooplankton species were analyzed to determine the plankton food web structure of Lake Malawi. Over an annual cycle, seston δ13C varied between ?20.41‰ and ?27.43‰ with a mean value of ?24.27‰ ± 1.2 while δ13C values for zooplankton fluctuated between ?22‰ and ?25‰ with a mean of ?23.84‰ ± 0.77. Seston δ13C fluctuations appeared to be related to changes in physical and meteorological conditions in the lake that ultimately control nutrient availability. The highest seston δ13C values observed during the rainy and mixed seasons likely result from high phytolankton growth rates. δ15N of plankton was temporally variable, suggesting short term changes in N cycling dynamics that control the supply of N to phytoplankton. Very low seston δ15N values recorded during the mixing season suggest excess NO3? availability resulting from upwelling and vertical mixing. In contrast to expectations the calanoid Tropodiaptomus cunningtoni appeared to feed at a trophic level higher than that of all other zooplankton species, including the cyclopoid, Mesocyclops aequatorialis aequatorialis. δ15N values indicate that zooplankton were nearly 2 trophic levels above seston in the early stratified season. This implies that adult zooplankton could be utilizing forms of food other than phytoplankton during this period, such as nauplii or protozoans. This extra step in the food web, and the trophic positions of large zooplankton species, may alter estimates of food web efficiency and potential fish production for Lake Malawi.  相似文献
