Theoretical analysis based on the calculation of phase diagrams was employed for Fe-Si-Co and Fe-Si-Al ordering systems to clarify the necessity for the occurrence of phase separation in Fe-base ternary ordering systems. The free energy of Fe-base ternary ordering alloys where B2 and D03 ordered structures are formed is evaluated statistically using a pairwise interaction approximation up to second nearest neighbours, taking into account not only the atomic interaction but also the magnetic interaction, based on the Bragg-Williams-Gorsky model. The calculated phase diagrams are consistent with the experimentally obtained ones. The phase diagram calculation in this work is useful to predict the equilibrium states of the ternary ordering systems. The phase separation in ordering alloys is caused by the contribution of excess free energies due to ordering. The influences of ferromagnetism on the two-phase regions are also demonstrated.  相似文献

Silk fibers and membranes were acylated with octadecenylsuccinic anhydride (ODSA) at 75°C for different times. Swelling [N,N‐dimethylformamide (DMF) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)] and nonswelling (xylene) solvent media were used for the reaction. Silk membranes that reacted in DMF or DMSO displayed faster reaction kinetics and attained higher weight‐gain values than fibers. The effect of the solvent on the reaction yield was in the following order: DMSO > DMF ? xylene. The Fourier transform infrared spectra of acylated silk samples showed the characteristic absorption bands of the anhydride at 2990, 2852, 1780–1700, and 1170 cm?1. The intensity of the latter band, which increased linearly with the weight gain, was used as a marker for evaluating the reaction kinetics of the samples acylated in the nonswelling medium. The moisture regain and water retention of silk fibers acylated with ODSA decreased significantly, regardless of the solvent system used. Accordingly, the water repellency increased. Acylation induced an increase in the thermal stability of the silk fibers and membranes. The work presented here discusses a new technique for preparing silk fibers and films with persistent antimicrobial activity through use of metallic dyestuffs during the fiber dyeing process. The length of the silk fibers investigated contracted when the fibers were immersed in concentrated neutral salt solutions, such as calcium or potassium nitrate, at elevated temperature levels. The birefringence and molecular orientation of the silk fibroin molecules became less ordered by the action of the neutral salt solutions, resulting in increased dyestuff absorption. Subsequently, contracted silk fibers were dyed with metallic dyestuffs containing Cr or Cu for the purpose of obtaining silk fibers with antimicrobial activity. Silk fibers dyed with metallic dyestuffs showed significant antimicrobial activity against the plant pathogen Cornebacterium and the human pathogen Coli bacillus. Tensile strength of the silk fibers after the salt shrinking and dyeing processes did not show a significant change, whereas the elongation at break was increased slightly. The techniques described here for preparing significantly active antimicrobial silk fibers are effective and economic ways of providing new materials for industrial and biomedical applications. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper deals with the epoxide treatment of silk fabrics by the pad/batch method. The optimum reaction conditions, i.e., NaOH concentration, and reaction temperature were 2.5 g/L and 30°C, respectively. A weight gain of 8.5% was attained at a reaction time of 6 h. This value slightly increased to 10% after 24 h. The reactivity of tyrosine and basic amino acid residues was dependent on the reaction time and did not significantly differ from the results of epoxide-treated silk fiber by the conventional method in tetrachloroethylene. The moisture regain slightly decreased at 4% weight gain and then increased with the epoxide content, exceeding the value of the untreated control. The crease recovery of the epoxide-treated silk fabrics measured in the wet state was significantly improved, whereas that in the dry state was almost unchanged. The rate of photoyellowing of the epoxide-treated silk fabrics by the pad/batch method was reduced significantly compared with that of the untreated control. Among the mechanical properties, elongation at break and tensile modulus remained unchanged, whereas the tensile strength slightly increased following the epoxide reaction. The thermal properties were evaluated by DSC and TGA and on the basis of the dynamic viscoelastic measurements. The DSC curve of the epoxide-treated sample showed a slight increase of the decomposition temperature of silk fibroin. The rate of weight loss determined by TGA remained unchanged regardless of the chemical modification, whereas the peak of loss modulus became broader and shifted to lower temperature. The X-ray diffractograms showed that the crystalline structure of silk fibers was not affected by the reaction with epoxides. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Porous ZrO2 ceramics were fabricated by compacting a fine ZrO2 powder, followed by pressureless sintering. Two unidirectional pressures of 30 and 75 MPa were used to prepare the green compacts. The strength and the fracture toughness of porous ZrO2 specimens sintered from the compacts prepared by 75 MPa were substantially higher than those by 30 MPa, especially for the specimens with low porosity. However, the corresponding Young's moduli were identical. This caused the strain to failure of these porous bodies to increase significantly with increasing compaction pressure. Microstructural analyses showed that a number of voids and small flaws existed in the green compacts prepared by the lower pressure, due to the agglomeration of fine ZrO2 grains. It was revealed that the ZrO2 agglomeration resulted in a localized nonuniform shrinkage and degraded the mechanical properties of porous ZrO2 ceramics.  相似文献

Purpose : We aimed to identify novel chemotherapy responsiveness biomarkers for osteosarcoma (OS) by investigating the global protein expression profile of 12 biopsy samples from OS patients. Experimental design : Six patients were classified as good responders and six as poor responders, according to the Huvos grading system. The protein expression profiles obtained by 2‐D DIGE consisted of 2250 protein spots. Results : Among them, we identified 55 protein spots whose intensity was significantly different (Bonferroni adjusted p‐value<0.01) between the two patient groups. Mass spectrometric protein identification demonstrated that the 55 spots corresponded to 38 distinct gene products including peroxiredoxin 2 (PRDX 2). Use of a specific antibody against PRDX 2 confirmed the differential expression of PRDX 2 between good and poor responders, while PRDX 2 levels as measured by Western blotting correlated highly with their corresponding 2‐D DIGE values. The predictive value of PRDX 2 expression was further confirmed by examining an additional four OS cases using Western blotting. Conclusions and clinical relevance : These results establish PRDX 2 as a candidate for chemotherapy responsiveness marker in OS. Measuring PRDX 2 in biopsy samples before treatment may contribute to more effective management of OS.  相似文献

Maximum stress intensity factors of a surface crack usually appear at the deepest point of the crack, or a certain point along crack front near the free surface depending on the aspect ratio of the crack. However, generally it has been difficult to obtain smooth distributions of stress intensity factors along the crack front accurately due to the effect of corner point singularity. It is known that the stress singularity at a corner point where the front of 3 D cracks intersect free surface is depend on Poisson's ratio and different from the one of ordinary crack. In this paper, a singular integral equation method is applied to calculate the stress intensity factor along crack front of a 3-D semi-elliptical surface crack in a semi-infinite body under mixed mode loading. The body force method is used to formulate the problem as a system of singular integral equations with singularities of the form r −3 using the stress field induced by a force doublet in a semi-infinite body as fundamental solution. In the numerical calculation, unknown body force densities are approximated by using fundamental density functions and polynomials. The results show that the present method yields smooth variations of mixed modes stress intensity factors along the crack front accurately. Distributions of stress intensity factors are indicated in tables and figures with varying the elliptical shape and Poisson's ratio.  相似文献

We evaluated the efficacy of microwave coagulation therapy (MCT) in 84 patients with hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) and 40 with metastatic liver tumors (MLT). The response rates calculated with diagnostic imaging were 92% in HCC and 80% in MLT. The regional recurrence rates were relatively higher in patients with MLT (33%) than in HCC (14%). The average surgical margin in operative MCT group was 11 mm. The cumulative survival rates at three and five years were 63% and 38% in HCC and 43% and 33% in MLT, respectively. The complications were similarly encountered in HCC and MLT (12% versus 13%). When these observations are taken together, MCT is a radical and safe locoregional therapy which can keep an adequate surgical margin and assure long survival.  相似文献

Calcium alginate fibers were prepared by extruding an aqueous sodium alginate solution into an aqueous calcium chloride solution. The fibers were treated with a saturated aqueous calcium hydroxide solution for various periods and their apatite-forming ability was examined in a simulated body fluid (SBF). The calcium alginate fibers were treated with the aqueous calcium hydroxide solution for periods longer than five days formed apatite on their surfaces in SBF, and their apatite-forming ability improved with increasing calcium hydroxide treatment time. The amount of calcium ions released from the fibers also increased with increasing calcium hydroxide treatment time, resulting in acceleration of nucleation and growth of apatite on the fiber surfaces. The resultant apatite-alginate fiber composite is expected to be useful as a flexible bioactive bone-repairing material.  相似文献
