The T-125/150-12.8 cogeneration steam turbine

The article presents the design, the economic indicators, and the main solutions on the thermal process circuit and layout of the T-125/150-12.8 turbine, a new design version of the T-100-12.8 turbine, which is one of the best known, unique and widely used cogeneration turbines in Russia and abroad. The project of the new turbine is supposed to be used both for renovating and upgrading already installed turbines of the T-100 family and for supplying it as a full set for replacing obsolete equipment or constructing new one.     

Protective properties of oil-soluble corrosion inhibitors based on alkenylsuccinic anhydride

Conclusions Additives and corrosion inhibitors based on alkenylsuccinic anhydride have been studied in relation to their effects on the corrosion of ferrous and nonferrous metals under conditions of chemical, electrochemical, and mixed chemical/electrochemical corrosion.A series of salts of alkenylsuccinic acid has been synthesized, also succinimides based on urea, and a complex corrosion-inhibiting additive.It has been shown that, for the protection of engines and mechanisms against corrosive wear, use should be made of oil-soluble, multifunctional, complex additives that will provide simultaneous protection of metals against chemical and electrochemical corrosion.Translated from Khimiya i Tekhnologiya Topliv i Masel, No. 10, pp. 38–41, October, 1970.     

Investigation of Pyrolysis of Methane under Conditions of Filtering through a Heated Porous Medium

An unsteady-state one-dimensional mathematical model is used to perform a theoretical analysis of the process of thermal decomposition of methane under conditions of filtering through a heated porous medium formed by granules of commercial-grade carbon. A scheme of the process kinetics is developed. The effect of the basic characteristics of commercial-grade carbon and of the operating conditions on the efficiency of the process is treated. Laboratory experiments are performed in support of the commercial-scale technology of production of granular pyrocarbon. A comparison of the calculation results with experimental data demonstrates their good agreement.
