The dynamic performance of point-type smoke detectors is described by a simple model including two independent parameters, the static response threshold, and the characteristic length of the detector. In this paper, we highlight considerations for synchronization issues in body area networks. Requirements for the synchronization accuracy in body area networks depend on the application at hand. Synchronization may be needed for power management, sample ordering, calculation of stimulus responses and for sensor fusion. This paper provides a theoretical exercise to help understand the accuracy required for typical human motion sensing. It gives an overview of various synchronisation strategies used and implemented in prototype systems. Lessons learnt from practical implementations using Bluetooth, an IEEE 802.15.4 proprietary network and Nanonet are presented to illustrate the principles involved. The discussion provides some considerations and the requirements for typical WBAN applications.  相似文献

Cellulose is abundantly available in the form of forestry and agricultural lignocellulosic residues. These residues offer the most potential source for the production of cellulosic glucose, which is a prerequisite for the sustainable production of glucose-based fuels and chemicals. Acid catalysis is one path to lignocellulosic glucose and further to its dehydration end products. Furthermore, many studied lignocellulose pretreatment methods for enzymatic hydrolysis are carried out in acidic conditions, in which the unwanted release of hemicellulose-based glucose and its further reactions to harmful end products are possible. Thus, in order to maximize glucose production from non-food cellulosic raw materials, data on the kinetics of cellulose decomposition and formation rates of end products are required. Glucose decomposition is a complex reaction system that has often been modelled with empirical, simplified models. In this study, a kinetic model was developed for glucose decomposition in formic acid solution. The experimentation was carried out in batch reactors at 180-220 °C in 5-20% (w/w) formic acid. The model developed relies on a mechanistic step through an unknown substance and gives excellent correspondence to the experimental data despite the pseudo-elementary nature of the model structure.  相似文献

In variable-speed electrical drives, data transmission between an electric motor and an inverter is required because of sensors installed at the motor. Sensor information is used both in the motor control and in the diagnostics. For example, a data transmission medium can be implemented either by additional cabling or through the power cable. However, additional cabling is neither a cost-effective nor even a reliable solution. Previously, only a few application-specific solutions for data transmission via power cables have been presented. A general method to implement a broadband and Ethernet-based communication medium between a motor and an inverter is proposed here. The method forms an Ethernet-supported packet-based communication medium over the motor power cable. Ethernet supports all kind of protocols implemented above the link layer. The channel and noise characteristics are described. According to these, a coupling interface is developed that allows installing the communication device safely to a three-phase inverter-fed motor power cable. A channel capacity analysis is also performed. Laboratory measurements are carried out and analysed with the proposed method, and two possible applications are discussed.  相似文献

It has been shown that an inverter-fed power line is a feasible medium for the transmission of modulated information. The communication channel includes the feeder cable terminated by two loads: the motor and the inverter. This link is a suitable alternative for the sensor cabling between motors and inverters in motor control and diagnostic applications. The use of the motor power cable in the speed feedback induction motor control application and the modelling of the formed communication channel are presented and discussed in this paper.  相似文献

DNA-binding characteristics of the two human thyroid hormone receptors alpha 1 and beta 1 (hTR alpha 1 and hTR beta 1) were studied by applying the recently developed solid-phase scintillation technique. Biotinylated double stranded oligonucleotides containing thyroid hormone response elements (TRE) were immobilized to streptavidin coated scintillating microtiter plates. The TRE:s consisted of variants of the consensus core sequence AGGTCA as monomers or as dimers in direct repeats. Equilibrium binding of radioactive labelled hTR alpha 1 and hTR beta 1 were studied. Metabolically 35S-labelled hTR (in vitro translated cDNA) as well as hTR expressed in the baculovirus-system and labelled with 125I-triiodothyronine (125I-T3) were used. In binding saturation experiments, the affinity for the TRE:s investigated did not differ greatly between hTR alpha 1 and hTR beta 1. No significant effects of T3 on the amplitude of DNA binding of either hTR alpha 1 or hTR beta 1 to the single site response elements could be demonstrated. Receptor binding to direct repeats was stimulated by the hormone in the case of the hTR beta 1. The hTR alpha 1 binding to direct repeats was not significantly altered by T3. The single site octameric variant of a TRE, TAAGGTCA, was observed to bind tighter to the hTR:s as compared to the hexameric variant AGGTCA. In the binding competition format, with one response element immobilized and other (un-biotinylated) added to the reaction mixture, there was a larger dynamic range for the affinity constants (IC50) as compared to the affinity constants (Kd) obtained in the binding saturation experiments. The present quantitative results confirm previous reports obtained with qualitative methods like gel shift assays. The method described here is applicable in basic research concerning characterisation of DNA binding of nuclear receptors. It also lends itself to automatization in high capacity formats.  相似文献

Water-vapour and water transport in wood coated with nine different joinery paints were monitored. The joinery paints were commercial paints used in window factories mainly in Finland and Sweden. The moisture transport properties of painted pine and spruce specimens which were unweathered, weathered for one year, and weathered for three years were determined. Painting, weathering and the wood substrate all affected the moisture transport in the coated wood.  相似文献

The delivery of integrated solutions calls for effective integration across the functional interfaces of the project-based firm (PBF) throughout the solution's life cycle. We scrutinize cross-functional integration in a triadic setting involving the PBF's sales, project operations, and services functions by focusing on the flow of customer information (information from and about customers) across three functional interfaces. Drawing on a qualitative case study, we develop a categorization consisting of four distinct types of integration mechanisms: meetings, IT systems, personal involvement, and processes and rules. Our results show that in the focal PBF, customer information flows are strongest in the sales–project operations interface and weakest in the sales–services interface. Furthermore, sales and services functions were found to rely predominantly on personal involvement mechanisms in transferring customer information. Our results highlight the need to integrate and manage customer information flows, especially between the sales–services interface, when delivering integrated solutions.  相似文献

In this letter, we propose a numerical method for computing the phase spectrum of impedance. The developed method is based on the maximum entropy model (MEM) and enables one to retrieve the phase spectrum directly from an impedance amplitude spectrum. The validity of the method is tested with an input impedance measurement of a distribution transformer in the frequency band 100 kHz-30 MHz, where both the amplitude and the phase spectrum of the impedance are measured. According to the tests carried out, the method is useful and it may be applied, for example, in the research of active filters, power line communication, and electromagnetic interference.  相似文献

In recent years, the linkages between project management and organization theory have become stronger. In an attempt to address this development, this paper analyzes the research on temporary and project-based organizing. It especially discusses the development associated with the EGOS sub-themes on project organizing and the potential avenues for future research. The paper also summarizes the key findings from the included papers in the special issue on project-based and temporary organizing, which is based on papers from the EGOS conference in 2013. One key argument is that project organizing needs to develop along three lines: new empirical contexts, new theoretical/conceptual issues, and new research methodologies.  相似文献
