This paper presents a stereo vision system for the detection and distance computation of a preceding vehicle. It is divided in two major steps. Initially, a stereo vision-based algorithm is used to extract relevant three-dimensional (3-D) features in the scene, these features are investigated further in order to select the ones that belong to vertical objects only and not to the road or background. These 3-D vertical features are then used as a starting point for preceding vehicle detection; by using a symmetry operator, a match against a simplified model of a rear vehicle's shape is performed using a monocular vision-based approach that allows the identification of a preceding vehicle. In addition, using the 3-D information previously extracted, an accurate distance computation is performed.  相似文献

Image inpainting is the filling in of missing or damaged regions of images using information from surrounding areas. We outline here the use of a model for binary inpainting based on the Cahn-Hilliard equation, which allows for fast, efficient inpainting of degraded text, as well as super-resolution of high contrast images.  相似文献

Our goal is to estimate a probability density based on discrete point data via segmentation techniques. Since point data may represent certain activities, such as crime, our method can be successfully used for detecting regions of high activity. In this work we design a binary segmentation version of the well-known Maximum Penalized Likelihood Estimation (MPLE) model, as well as a minimization algorithm based on thresholding dynamics originally proposed by Merriman et al. (The Computational Crystal Growers, pp. 73–83, 1992). We also present some computational examples, including one with actual residential burglary data from the San Fernando Valley.  相似文献

Fluorogenic probes that are activated by an enzymatic transformation are ideally suited for profiling enzyme activities in biological systems. Here, we describe two fluorogenic enzyme probes, 3‐O‐methylfluorescein‐sulfate and resorufin‐sulfate, that can be used to detect sulfatases in mycobacterial lysates. Both probes were validated with a set of commercial sulfatases and used to reveal species‐specific sulfatase banding patterns in a gel‐resolved assay of mycobacterial lysates. The fluorogenic probes described here are suitable for various assays and provide a starting point for creating new sulfatase probes with improved selectivity for mycobacterial sulfatases.  相似文献

As technology scales toward deep submicron, the integration of a large number of IP blocks on the same silicon die is becoming technically feasible, thus enabling large-scale parallel computations, such as those required for multimedia workloads. The communication architecture is becoming the bottleneck for these multiprocessor Systems-on-Chip (SoC), and efficient contention resolution schemes for managing simultaneous access requests to the shared communication resources are required to prevent system performance degradation. The contribution of this work is to analyze the impact on multiprocessor SoC performance of different bus arbitration policies under different communication patterns, showing the distinctive features of each policy and the strong correlation of their effectiveness with the communication requirements of the applications. Beyond traditional arbitration schemes such as round robin and TDMA, another policy is considered that periodically allocates a temporal slot for contention-free bus utilization to a processor which needs fixed predictable bandwidth for the correct execution of its time-critical task. The results are derived on a complete and scalable multiprocessor SoC simulation platform based on SystemC, whose software support includes a complete embedded multiprocessor OS (RTEMS). The communication architecture is AMBA compliant, and we exploit the flexibility of this multi-master commercial standard, which does not specify the arbitration algorithm, to implement the explored contention resolution schemes.  相似文献

A series of cis- and trans-dichloro(benzylamine) (chiral olefin) platinum(II) complexes, containing (Z) and (E) isomers of the internal chiral olefins R-CH=CH-R', has been prepared by ethylene displacement from the corresponding ethylene containing complexes. The particular stereochemical features of the complexes allow one to interpret the CD on the basis of the individual contributions coming from the chiral centres already present in the free olefin and from the chiral centres formed in the complexation of the double bond. Evidence is reported showing that the aforementioned contributions are additive and that the chiral centre(s) bound to the metal dominates the CD at about 400 nm, its chirality type being reflected in the sign and its chirality prevalence in the Δϵ value.  相似文献
