The emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from building materials may significantly contribute to indoor air pollution, and VOCs have been associated with odor annoyance and adverse health effects. Wood materials together with coatings are commonly used indoors for furniture and large surfaces such as walls, floors, and ceilings. This leads to high surface-to-volume ratios, and therefore, these materials may participate remarkably to the VOC levels of indoor environment. We studied emissions of VOCs and carbonyl compounds from pinewood (Pinus sylvestris) boards of 10% and 16% moisture contents (MC) with three paints using small-scale test chambers (27 L). The emissions from uncoated pinewood and paints (on a glass substrate) were tested as references. The 28-day experiment showed that the VOC emissions from uncoated pinewood were lower from sample with 16% MC. Painted pinewood samples showed lower emissions compared to paints on glass substrate. Additionally, paints on 16% MC pinewood exhibited lower emissions than on drier 10% MC wood. The emissions from painted pinewood samples were dominated by paint-based compounds, but the share of wood-based compounds increased over time. However, we noticed differences between the paints, and wood-based emissions were clearly higher with the most permeable paint. 相似文献

The neuroleptic agent haloperidol (HP) is biotransformed in humans to a pyridinium metabolite, HPP+, that displays neurotoxic properties resembling those of the 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-derived neurotoxic pyridinium metabolite MPP+. We report here that HP and its tetrahydropyridine dehydration product 4-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-4-oxobutyl]-1,2,3,6- tetrahydropyridine (HPTP) are metabolized in vivo by the MPTP-susceptible C57BL/6 mouse to several pyridinium metabolites including HPP+ and the 4-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-4-hydroxybutyl]pyridinium species RHPP+, the pyridinium species corresponding to reduced haloperidol (RHP), a major circulating metabolite of HP. Atmospheric pressure ion-spray (API) mass spectral data also suggest the formation of fluorophenyl ring-hydroxylated derivatives of these two pyridinium metabolites. Furthermore, HPLC tracings reveal the presence of HPP+, RHPP+, and two phenolic pyridinium metabolites in brain tissue extracts of HPTP, but not HP, treated mice. The neurotoxic potential of MPTP-type pyridinium species suggests that these metabolites may contribute to some of the neurological disorders observed in humans undergoing chronic HP treatment. 相似文献

Degrading 2‐ethylhexyl‐containing PVC floorings (eg DEHP‐PVC floorings) and adhesives emit 2‐ethylhexanol (2‐EH) in the indoor air. The danger of flooring degradation comes from exposing occupants to harmful phthalates plasticisers (eg DEHP), but not from 2‐EH as such. Since the EU banned the use of phthalates in sensitive applications, the market is shifting to use DEHP‐free and alternative types of plasticisers in PVC products. However, data on emissions from DEHP‐free PVC floorings are scarce. This study aimed at assessing the surface and bulk emissions of two DEHP‐free PVC floorings over three years. The floorings were glued on the screed layer of concrete casts at 75%, 85%, and 95% RH. The volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were actively sampled using FLEC (surface emissions) and micro‐chamber/thermal extractor (µ‐CTE, bulk emissions) onto Tenax TA adsorbents and analyzed with TD‐GC‐MS. 2‐EH, C9‐alcohols, and total volatile organic compound (TVOC) emissions are reported. Emissions at 75% and 85% RH were similar. As expected, the highest emissions occurred at 95% RH. 2‐EH emissions originated from the adhesive. Because the two DEHP‐free floorings tested emitted C9‐alcohols at all tested RH, it makes the detection of flooring degradation harder, particularly if the adhesive used does not emit 2‐EH. 相似文献

A polarization lidar operating at 532 nm was converted into an automatic, polarimetric lidar capable of measuring the entire Stokes vector of backscattered light and its derived quantities. Among these quantities, circular and linear depolarizations were studied as tools for investigating the presence of anisotropic scattering media. Isotropic scatterers show a simple relationship between linear and circular depolarization, a relation that we confirm theoretically and experimentally. Deviations from this relation, which are possible in the presence of anisotropic scatterers such as horizontally oriented ice plates when they are observed with a slant lidar, were studied both numerically and experimentally. 相似文献

Optimal binary cyclic redundancy-check codes with 16 parity bits (CRC-16 codes) are presented and compared to those in existing standards for minimum-distance, undetected-error probability on binary symmetric channels (BSCs) and properness. The codes in several cases are seen to be superior at block lengths of practical interest when they are used on low-noise BSCs. The optimum minimum distance obtainable by some CRC-16 codes is determined for all block lengths. For several typical low-noise BSCs the minimum undetected error probability achievable with some CRC-16 codes is given for all block lengths 相似文献

NADPH supplemented rat liver microsomal enzyme preparations catalyze the conversion of 1-cyclopropyl4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine to the p-hydroxyphenyl (low yield), descyclopropyl (high yield) and 2,3-dihydropyridinium and, subsequently, pyridinium (intermediary yield) metabolites. When the methine proton of the cyclopropyl group was replaced with a deuteron, a normal deuterium isotope effect (1.4) was observed on the formation of the decyclopropylated metabolite and an inverse isotope effect (0.6) on the dihydropyridinium metabolite. A larger deuterium isotope effect (3.6) was observed on the ring alpha-carbon oxidation pathway with the 2,2,6,6-d4 analogue as substrate. These results and the observation that the ratios of the rates of these two alpha-carbon oxidation pathways are independent of initial substrate concentrations suggest that both pathways are catalyzed by the same active site of one form of P450. These transformations are discussed in terms of metabolic pathways that have been proposed for the cytochrome P450 catalyzed alpha-carbon oxidation of amines. 相似文献

Reliable time series of vegetation optical properties are needed to improve the modeling of the terrestrial carbon budget with remote sensing data. This paper describes the development of an automatic spectral system able to collect continuous long-term in-field spectral measurements of spectral down-welling and surface reflected irradiance. The paper addresses the development of the system, named hyperspectral irradiometer (HSI), describes its optical design, the acquisition, and processing operations. Measurements gathered on a vegetated surface by the HSI are shown, discussed and compared with experimental outcomes with independent instruments. 相似文献
