The purpose of this study is to investigate a method of tracking moving objects with a moving camera. This method estimates simultaneously the motion induced by camera movement. The problem is formulated as a Bayesian motion-based partitioning problem in the spatiotemporal domain of the image quence. An energy functional is derived from the Bayesian formulation. The Euler-Lagrange descent equations determine imultaneously an estimate of the image motion field induced by camera motion and an estimate of the spatiotemporal motion undary surface. The Euler-Lagrange equation corresponding to the surface is expressed as a level-set partial differential equation for topology independence and numerically stable implementation. The method can be initialized simply and can track multiple objects with nonsimultaneous motions. Velocities on motion boundaries can be estimated from geometrical properties of the motion boundary. Several examples of experimental verification are given using synthetic and real-image sequences.  相似文献

The field of Skull base Surgery evolved rapidly over the past several years. The techniques that were developed now make it possible to treat lesions that were previously deemed inaccessible. This article is a review of some of the aspects of this evolving specialty. The co-existence of ω and -type polymers in the carrageenan system of Rissoella verruculosa led us to investigate the possible precursors for these structures. No highly sulphated carrageenan similar to what has been reported as precursor of most carrageenan was found. Isolation of a third component, β-carrageenan, is reported. Fractionation by DEAE chromatography shows that this latter polymer always coexists with ω but is never found in the fractions containing . The significance of this co-existence, as a preliminary approach to establish biosynthetic relationships between these different carrageenans, is discussed.  相似文献

This paper presents advancements toward a monolithic solution procedure and anisotropic mesh adaptation for the numerical solution of fluid–structure interaction with complex geometry. First, a new stabilized three‐field stress, velocity, and pressure finite element formulation is presented for modeling the interaction between the fluid (laminar or turbulent) and the rigid body. The presence of the structure will be taken into account by means of an extra stress in the Navier–Stokes equations. The system is solved using a finite element variational multiscale method. We combine this method with anisotropic mesh adaptation to ensure an accurate capturing of the discontinuities at the fluid–solid interface. We assess the behavior and accuracy of the proposed formulation in the simulation of 2D and 3D time‐dependent numerical examples such as the flow past a circular cylinder and turbulent flows behind an immersed helicopter in a forward flight. OBJECTIVE: This study describes the technique and efficacy of split calvarial graft cranioplasty for the reconstruction of retrosigmoid/suboccipital defects following surgery for acoustic neuromas. STUDY DESIGN: A prospective study of the technique of split calvarial graft cranioplasty, its postoperative healing, and incidence of postoperative headache. METHODS: The technique requires splitting of the craniotomy bone flap into outer and inner table bone grafts. The combination of both bony grafts allows the coverage of a wider area of posterior fossa dura. This technique was used in 18 patients. All patients were followed for a minimum of 6 months. Eleven of 18 patients were followed for 1 year or longer. Four patients had three-dimensional computed tomography of their skull and area of split calvarial bone graft. RESULTS: One of 18 patients had a persistent disabling headache at 1 year postoperatively. A natural contour of the retrosigmoid area was achieved in all patients. Three-dimensional computed tomography scan, obtained 6 months postoperatively, showed total coverage of the retrosigmoid area and fusion of the bone flap to the surrounding skull. CONCLUSION: The technique of split calvarial grafting of posterior fossa defects is a feasible, safe, and effective way of separating the nuchal musculature and posterior fossa dura. The technique also allows the restoration of the contour and bony covering of the retrosigmoid area. The technique is a simple alternative to other types of cranioplasties aimed at reducing the incidence of postoperative headache in patients with acoustic neuromas.  相似文献
