When studying the degree of overall agreement between the nominal responses of two raters, it is customary to use the coefficient kappa. A more detailed analysis requires the evaluation of the degree of agreement category by category, and this is carried out in two different ways: using the value of kappa in the collapsed table for each category or using the agreement index for each category (proportion of agreements observed). Both indices have disadvantages: the former is sensitive to marginal totals; the latter is not chance corrected; and neither distinguishes the case where one of the two raters is a gold standard (an expert) from the case where neither rater is a gold standard. This article suggests five chance-corrected indices which are not sensitive to marginal totals and which differ depending on whether there is a standard rater. The article also justifies the reason for poor performance of kappa when the two marginal totals are unbalanced (especially if they are so in opposite directions) and the reason for its good performance when analysing the various 2 x 2 tables obtained by the collapse of a wider table.  相似文献

A new analog maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique is presented and discussed. Its main advantages are simplicity of implementation, absence of memory and multiplication operations, and the high MPPT efficiency obtainable under both stationary and time‐varying atmospheric conditions. A numerical analysis, carried out by using the Perturb and Observe MPPT technique as a benchmark reference, confirms the validity of the proposed approach. Inflammation may increase cancer risk, therefore, we studied whether polyphenol‐rich Marie Ménard (MM) apples with reported anti‐inflammatory activity prevent 1,2‐dimethylhydrazine (DMH)‐induced colon carcinogenesis in rats and, likewise whether high‐fat (HF) diet promoting carcinogenesis, may affect inflammation. DMH‐induced rats were fed for 15 weeks with: an HF diet (23% corn oil w/w); an HF diet containing 7.6% w/w lyophilized MM (apple diet (AD)); a low‐fat (LF) diet and an HF diet containing piroxicam (PXC) (0.01% w/w) as control. Mucin depleted foci (MDF), precancerous lesions in the colon, were dramatically reduced in the AD, LF, and PXC groups compared with the HF. Peritoneal macrophage activation, an index of systemic inflammation, was significantly decreased in the AD, LF, and PXC groups. TNFα, iNOS, IL‐1β, IL‐6 m‐RNA expression in the colon, as well as CD68 cells and plasmatic PGE2 were lower in the AD, but not in the LF group. Apoptosis in the MDF of both the AD and LF‐fed rats was significantly higher than in HF rats. In conclusion, AD has a strong chemopreventive effect, reducing inflammation, and increasing apoptosis, while the chemopreventive effect of the LF diet seems mediated mainly by increased apoptosis in MDF.  相似文献

In double-stage grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) inverters, the dynamic interactions among the DC/DC and DC/AC stages and the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller may reduce the system performances. In this paper, the detrimental effects, particularly in terms of system efficiency and MPPT performances, of the oscillations of the PV array voltage, taking place at the second harmonic of the grid frequency are evidenced. The use of a proper compensation network acting on the error signal between a reference signal provided by the MPPT controller and a signal that is proportional to the PV array voltage is proposed. The guidelines for the proper joint design of the compensation network (which is able to cancel out the PV voltage oscillations) and of the main MPPT parameters are provided in this paper. Simulation results and experimental measurements confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

This paper discusses a tolerance design approach for the feedback compensation networks of DC/DC switching regulators, identifying the most reliable solutions among different feasible alternatives that fulfil closed-loop design constraints. A voltage-mode-regulated DC/DC buck converter is considered as a case study. Given the performance and stability constraints, as tolerance ranges for crossover frequency and phase margin, feasible design solutions are sought by means of Monte Carlo and interval arithmetic computations. The search space is a set of available commercial values of RC parameters and related tolerances. Best design is identified by a weighted fitness function, exploring the set of solutions provided by different design approaches. The results presented in the paper highlight that the tolerance design approach allows one to find compensation networks that fit the given performance/robustness priorities better than those ones found by means of the classical nominal design approach.  相似文献

One of the major drawbacks of photovoltaic (PV) systems is represented by the effect of module mismatching and of partial shading of the PV field. Distributed maximum power point tracking (DMPPT) is a very promising technique that allows the increase of efficiency and reliability of such systems. Modeling and designing a PV system with DMPPT is remarkably more complex than implementing a standard MPPT technique. In this paper, a DMPPT system for PV arrays is proposed and analyzed. A dc and small-signal ac model is derived to analyze steady-state behavior, as well as dynamics and stability, of the whole system. Finally, simulation results are reported and discussed.  相似文献

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) has been considered a relentlessly worsening disease, due to the progressive deterioration of the pancreatic beta cell functional mass. Recent evidence indicates, however, that remission of T2D may occur in variable proportions of patients after specific treatments that are associated with recovery of beta cell function. Here we review the available information on the recovery of beta cells in (a) non-diabetic individuals previously exposed to metabolic stress; (b) T2D patients following low-calorie diets, pharmacological therapies or bariatric surgery; (c) human islets isolated from non-diabetic organ donors that recover from “lipo-glucotoxic” conditions; and (d) human islets isolated from T2D organ donors and exposed to specific treatments. The improvement of insulin secretion reported by these studies and the associated molecular traits unveil the possibility to promote T2D remission by directly targeting pancreatic beta cells.  相似文献

Heavy metal contamination from occupational origin is a cause for concern because of its potential accumulation in the environment and in living organisms leading to long term toxic effects. This study was aimed to assess Cd, Cr, Mn, Ni and Pb levels in whole blood, urine, axillary hair and saliva from 178 individuals with occupational exposure to heavy metals. Levels of metal compounds were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry. We collected information on occupation, lifestyle habits and food intake by questionnaire. Multiple linear regression analyses for metal ion concentration in whole blood, urine, axillary hair and saliva were adjusted for age, gender, smoking and alcohol consumption, lifetime workplace exposure, residence area and food habits. Overall, blood and urine median concentrations found for the five metals analyzed do not exceed biological exposure indexes, so that they are very similar to a non-occupationally exposed population. Toxicokinetic differences may account for the lack of correlations found for metal levels in hair and saliva with those in blood or urine. For those heavy metals showing higher median levels in blood with respect to hair (Cd, Mn and Pb) indicating lesser hair incorporation from blood, the lifetime working experience was inversely correlated with their hair levels. The longer the lifetime working experience in industrial environments, the higher the Mn and Ni concentration in saliva. Axillary hair and saliva may be used as additional and/or alternative samples to blood or urine for biomonitoring hair Mn, and saliva Ni in subjects with occupational exposure.  相似文献

In this paper a new dynamic model of one‐cycle‐controlled converters operating either in continuous or in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is introduced. The static and dynamic behaviour is analysed by using sampled‐data modelling combined with the small‐signal linearization of the average model of the converter's power stage. The proposed model is valid for frequencies up to half the switching frequency and, while the other dynamic models presented in the literature cover continuous conduction mode only, it also gives an accurate prediction of the system's dynamic behaviour in the DCM. The model allows to determine the closed‐form expression of the reference‐to‐output transfer function G of the system, which is a fundamental prerequisite for the design of a conventional output feedback control circuit aimed at improving the dynamic behaviour of the system in response to load variations. In this paper it is also shown that one‐cycle control does not work properly in switching converters operating in deep DCM if some specific design constraints are not fulfilled. The theoretical predictions are confirmed by the results of suitable numerical simulations and laboratory experiments on a one‐cycle‐controlled buck‐switching converter.
