The distribution of total uptime during a given time interval for a repairable system is obtained. The total uptime is the total amount of time the system is up (in operation) during the interval. It is assumed that: (1) the system starts to operate at the beginning of the interval and alternately takes only the two states, up and down (under repair); (2) repair restores the system to “like-new”. Crystal phase transition between the low- and high-temperature phases has been investigated for ethylene (E)-tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) alternating copolymer (ETFE) containing the third monomeric species by the temperature dependent measurements of wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and differential scanning calorimetry. Nonafluoro-1-hexene (NFH) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP) were chosen as the third monomers, where they are different in the side-branch length, -(CF2)3CF3 and -CF3, respectively. In the case of E/TFE/NFH copolymer (ET-C4F9), the crystal phase transition temperature of the original ETFE two-components copolymer was not very much affected by the existence of NFH in the range of NFH content from 0.7 to 3 mol%. Contrarily, the crystal phase transition temperature of E/TFE/HFP copolymer (ET-CF3) was found to decrease drastically with increasing HFP content. The melting temperature and the higher-order structure were also affected sensitively depending on the HFP content. This difference in phase transition behavior between ET-C4F9 and ET-CF3 copolymers is reasonably interpreted as follows: the short side groups (-CF3) of HFP monomeric unit are included in the crystal lattice of E/TFE chains and the unit cell is expanded gradually with an increment of the HFP content, resulting in the decrease in phase transition point because of easier thermal motion of the chains. On the other hand, the long side groups [-(CF2)3CF3] of NFH monomeric units are excluded out of the crystal lattice and located on the lamellar surfaces or in the amorphous region and do not affect very much the phase transition temperature even when the NFH content is increased. In association with such a change in crystal structure, the long period of stacked lamellar structure was found to decrease remarkably in the case of NFH, whereas it does not change very much for HFP, consistent with the interpretation of the above-mentioned WAXD data. 相似文献

A case of bilateral hypernephroma treated by right heminephrectomy in situ and "benchwork" excision of two tumors from the left kidney followed by autotransplantation is presented. Follow-up examination has demonstrated good renal function with no evidence of tumor recurrence or metastasis. This case illustrates the feasibility of benchwork operation and its application to renal tumors, particularly when these tumors are bilateral and preservation of renal tissue is imperative. Long-term follow-up of patients managed by this technique is mandatory. 相似文献

The observation was experimentally conducted by using many screws with various geometries to obtain a highly transparent polypropylene melt resin sheet. The pressure distribution in the extruder, melt temperature profile across melt flow, the extruder throughput and the specific energy consumption were monitored. In a preliminary evaluation, transparent melt web was obtained in a simple straight channel depth screw and a straight channel depth screw with a torpedo type barrier section. The transparency of melted resin sheet was obtained by the screw geometry so that the specific energy consumption was small and the melted temperature was low. Based on these results and taking a wide applicability for a large size extruder of the production machine into consideration, the screw of gently tapered compression with a torpedo type barrier section was selected as the basic design of the screw geometry to satisfy both the transparency and the extrusion stability. The screw geometry optimization was conducted using the analysis of melting performance by the cooling experiment and the pressure pattern. As a result, the screw geometry to satisfy a low external haze and an extrusion stability under higher throughput conditions was designed. POLYM. ENG. Ruthenium(II) complexes by introducing phenylene–ethynylene subunit into a tpy (tpy=2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine) ligand were newly synthesized, and their photophysical and photochemical properties were characterized. The molar extinction coefficients of these dyes were larger than that of black dye. The photovoltaic performances of the solar cells based on these synthesizing dyes were investigated under AM 1.5 irradiation (100 mW cm?2). A new ruthenium(II)–polypyridine complex (1) having a 2,6-bis(4-carboxyquinolin-2-yl)pyridine ligand was synthesized as a sensitizer for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). By use of carbon black containing quaternary ammonium carboxylate (COO?N+R4) groups as catalyst, the anionic ring opening polymerization of β-propiolactone (PL) was carried out at 50°C. Although carbon black itself was unable to initiate the polymerization of PL, carbon black containing COO?N+R4 groups, which was prepared by the reaction of carboxyl groups with corresponding quaternary ammonium hydroxide, was found to be able to initiate the polymerization. The carbon black obtained from the polymerization gave a stable colloidal dispersion in an organic solvent, and it was confirmed that the polyester formed was effectively grafted onto the surface. Shiokara is a fermented seafood composed of sliced squid mantle muscle ripened with fresh squid liver. Preliminary sensory evaluation by using the ranking test revealed that the hardness of squid muscle in shiokara was reduced within 7 d of ripening. During the process of ripening, muscle proteins were digested by proteinases present in squid liver. The degradation of paramyosin and myosin heavy chain was observed by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The hardness of squid mantle muscle in shiokara was reduced with the degradation of paramyosin and myosin heavy chain. This degradation was mainly caused by E-64-sensitive cysteine proteinases. To control the hardness of shiokara, we used rice seed oryzacystatin, which suppresses proteolysis by papain-like cysteine proteinases. When oryzacystatin was added 4 d after the start of shiokara ripening, the muscle protein degradation stopped, without further muscle softening. These results show that oryzacystatin is useful to control the ripening of shiokara by regulating its hardness. 相似文献

The signal of electric response in superfluid helium was recently observed at the excitation of a second sound standing wave in an acoustic resonator (Rybalko in Low Temp Phys 30:994, 2004). It has been suspected that similar resonance signals may be observed also in a first sound wave; however, earlier experiments showed the absence of any electric response induced by the pressure wave. Here, we report the first experimental evidence of electrical activity that arises at the fundamental frequency of the first sound resonance. It is found that the signal of electric response agrees fairly well with the fundamental frequency of the first sound resonance. The absence of the signal of interest in the original experiment is discussed. 相似文献
