A new version of the front-end application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for co-planar-grid (CPG) sensors is presented. Compared to the first version, the ASIC is optimized for signal/noise performance, modified in peaking time, and it implements timing signals to measure the depth of interaction using the grids signals only. Experimental results using state-of the-art CPG sensors and different approaches for reducing the error due to electron trapping are reported. A new technique that makes use of the sum and difference of the grids signals is also presented.  相似文献

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a joint degenerative disease that most affects old age. The study of proteomics in synovial fluid (SF) has the task of providing additional elements to diagnose and predict the progress of OA. This review aims to identify the most significant biomarkers in the study of OA and to stimulate their routine use. Some of the major components of the ECM, such as proteoglycan aggrecan and decorin, were found considerably reduced in OA. Some biomarkers have proved useful for staging the temporality of OA: Periostin was found to be increased in early OA, while CRTA1 and MMPs were found to be increased in late OA. In its natural attempt at tissue regeneration, Collagen III was found to be increased in early OA while decreased in late OA. Some molecules studied in other areas, such as ZHX3 (oncological marker), LYVE1, and VEGF (lymph and angiogenesis markers), also have been found to be altered in OA. It also has been recorded that alteration of the hormonal pathway, using a dosage of PPAR-γ and RETN, can influence the evolution of OA. IL-1, one of the most investigated biomarkers in OA-SF, is not as reliable as a target of OA in recent studies. The study of biomarkers in SF appears to be, in combination with the clinical and radiological aspects, an additional weapon to address the diagnosis and staging of OA. Therefore, it can guide us more appropriately towards the indication of arthroplasty in patients with OA.  相似文献

Keeping in mind the necessities of a modern control system for fusion devices, such as modularity and a distributed architecture, an upgrade of the present FTU feedback control system was planned, envisaging also a possible reutilization in the proposed FAST experiment [1]. For standardization and efficiency purposes we decided to adopt a pre-existent ITER-relevant framework called MARTe [2], already used with success in other European Tokamak devices [3]. Following the developments shown in [4], in this paper we report on the structure of the new feedback system, and how it was integrated in the current control structure and pulse programming interface, and in the other MARTe systems already in FTU: RT-ODIN [5] and the ECRH and LH [6] satellite stations. The new feedback system has been installed in the FTU backup station (known as “Feedback B”), which shares the input signals with the actual feedback system, in order to simplify the validation and debug of the new controller by testing it in parallel with the current one. An ASIC for high rate photon counting measurements with multiple energy discrimination is presented. Optimized for pixelated CdZnTe sensors, the ASIC is composed of 64 channels with low-noise charge preamplification, high-order shaping (40 ns minimum peaking time), and five window-discriminators with associated 16-bit counters. An efficient readout scheme allows simultaneous measurement and readout through a 60 MHz 16-bit output bus. The ASIC architecture and experimental results are reported, and the impact of the shaper order on the resolution, ballistic deficit, and pile-up is discussed  相似文献

An efficient technique for real-time estimation of camera extrinsic parameters is presented. It is intended to be used on on-board vision systems for driving assistance applications. The pyramid algorithm for computing single wavelet transform coefficients is well known. The pyramid algorithm can be implemented by using tree-structured multirate filter banks. The authors propose a general algorithm to compute multiwavelet transform coefficients by adding proper premultirate filter banks before the vector filter banks that generate multiwavelets. The proposed algorithm can be thought of as a discrete vector-valued wavelet transform for certain discrete-time vector-valued signals. The proposed algorithm can be also thought of as a discrete multiwavelet transform for discrete-time signals. The authors then present some numerical experiments to illustrate the performance of the algorithm, which indicates that the energy compaction for discrete multiwavelet transforms may be better than the one for conventional discrete wavelet transforms  相似文献

Prospects for charge sensitive amplifiers in scaled CMOS   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Due to its low cost and flexibility for custom design, monolithic CMOS technology is being increasingly employed in charge preamplifiers across a broad range of applications, including both scientific research and commercial products. The associated detectors have capacitances ranging from a few tens of fF to several hundred pF. Applications call for pulse shaping from tens of ns to tens of μs, and constrain the available power per channel from tens of μW to tens of mW. At the same time a new technology generation, with changed device parameters, appears every 2 years or so. The optimum design of the front-end circuitry is examined taking into account submicron device characteristics, weak inversion operation, the reset system, and power supply scaling. Experimental results from recent prototypes will be presented. We will also discuss the evolution of preamplifier topologies and anticipated performance limits as CMOS technology scales down to the 0.1 μm/1.0 V generation in 2006.  相似文献

The authors present a graphical framework to evaluate the implied CO2 abatement costs that can be used by policymakers and resource planners to provide clarity on cost-effective policy design, and on the implications of planning decisions for meeting future de-carbonization goals. The framework would allow for comparison of alternative investments, while distinguishing the extent, type and timing of resources they would displace since those factors are system-specific and can substantially impact abatement costs.  相似文献

The study established baseline data on the total phenolic content and antioxidant activities of five sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) varieties grown in the Philippines including Dakol, Emelda, Haponita, PSBSP and Violet. Phenolic content ranged from 192.7 to 1159.0 mg gallic acid equivalent (GAE) /100 g dry sample. Antioxidant activities were highest for Dakol, with an EC50 value of 0.7 ± 0.2 mg/mL for DPPH radical scavenging activity, 2.5 ± 0.5 mg/mL for reducing power, and 2.4 ± 0.3 mg/mL for iron-chelating ability, on a dry basis. However, Haponita had the best inhibitory action on linoleic acid oxidation at 99.4 ± 0.9%. Methanolic sweet potato extracts had higher radical scavenging activity, reducing power and oxidation inhibition than α-tocopherol and higher iron-chelating capacity than ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA). Significant (∗P < 0.05) negative correlation was observed between total phenolic content and the EC50 for DPPH radical scavenging activity (R = −0.826), reducing power (R = −0.876) and iron-chelating capacity (R = -0.800).  相似文献
