A combination of crosslinked poly(4‐vinylpyridinium)chloride [P4‐H]Cl ( I ) and sodium nitrite or quaternized crosslinked poly(N‐methyl‐4‐vinylpyridinium)nitrite [P4‐Me]NO2 ( II ) was used as effective nitrosating agents for the N‐nitrosation of secondary amines under mild and heterogeneous conditions in moderate to excellent yields. TiO2‐supported gold species were prepared via the deposition‐precipitation route, with conservation of the initial speciation by freeze‐drying. The structural and electronic properties of the Au species were investigated by X‐ray absorption spectroscopy, electron microscopy, and IR spectroscopy of adsorbed CO in four states. Exclusively AuIII was deposited on the TiO2 surface in patches ranging from isolated Au ions to three‐dimensional clusters. This paper illustrates in detail the unique contributions of all characterization techniques to this structural model.  相似文献

Extracellular dopamine levels were measured in the rat nucleus accumbens by means of in vivo microdialysis. Delivery of rewarding medial forebrain bundle stimulation at a low rate (5 trains/min) produced a sustained elevation of dopamine levels, regardless of whether train onset was predictable. When the rate of train delivery was increased to 40 trains/min, dopamine levels rose rapidly during the first 40 min but then declined toward the baseline range. The rewarding impact of the stimulation was reduced following prior delivery of stimulation at the high, but not the low, rate. These results support the idea that dopamine tone plays an enabling role in brain stimulation reward and is elevated similarly by predictable and unpredictable stimulation. A A cerium-based chemical conversion process was studied. First, zinc coating obtained from a free-cyanide alkaline bath, with derivative of imidazol with new brightener, was investigated, zinc-plated steel specimens were treated with a solution of 50 mmol· L^-1 Ce(NO3 )3 The corrosion behavior of bare and treated mild galvanized steel was evaluated during exposure to 0.5 mol · L^-1 NaCl for different immersion time, using Tafel polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. The surface morphology of the coating was studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The composition and chemical percent of the coating were examined by X-ray dispersion energy (EDAX). The results of these measurements showed that the newly developed cerium-based conversion coating process was a promising candidate for replacing the conventional chromate treatments used at present for galvanized steel.  相似文献

A constitutive model to predict the frequency of occurrence of a dust explosion in a specified system is presented. This model has been adopted to examine the effect of dust concentration on the frequency of occurrence of dust explosions. The model incorporates one fitting constant as well as the activation energy of the dust used.

Explosion experiments were carried out to establish the effect of dust concentration on the frequency of occurrence of explosions. One hundred explosion tests were carried out for each concentration, under the same set of conditions.

The validity of the proposed model is demonstrated in view of the experimental data.  相似文献

Soybean oil was epoxidized using peracetic acid prepared in situ from acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide with Dowex 50 W‐8X as a catalyst. The epoxidized soybean oil was allowed to react with methylamine. The resulting adduct was identified and emulsified. The emulsified methylamine adduct was added at different concentrations to an emulsion (styrene/acrylic)‐based paint (blank). The effect of the methylamine adduct concentration on the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of the paint was studied. Various tests such as metal substrate weight loss, corrosion, blister, and scratch resistance were performed to evaluate the efficiency of the prepared adduct. It was found that there is an optimum concentration at which the methylamine adduct is very effective as a corrosion inhibitor. This concentration is about 0.5% by weight. In comparison with chromate anticorrosive pigment, it was found that the methylamine adduct is superior with more economical and environmental advantages. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The experimental investigation was carried out for dry contact tribosystems to elucidate the ascertained, yet uncharacterized, relationship between the coefficient of friction, η and apparent contact geometry in sliders. This paper presents the results of various experimentally evaluated slider pad width to length ratios, B/L (L is signified with direction of motion), while maintaining the unit loading constant. The empirical data is intended to provide guidance in design and in theoretical prediction of optimum bearing geometry for solid/powder lubricated systems.

In this experiment, a liquid lubricant, two different dry powders (MoS2 and TiO2), and four test specimens with B/L ratios ranging from 0.5 to 2.0 were used. An alternative experimental method has been used to simulate wear debris in the dry contact tribosystems, vis-à-vis dry powders, which were introduced into the interface gap to address the affinity of the wear process. Slider pads' performance characteristics as a function of the applied load (ranging from 34.5 to 345 kPa) and surface speed (0.004 to 4.5 m/sec) were determined at ambient condition. Experimental evidence shows that in the pre-hydrodynamic regime (low speed) the friction coefficient, η, decreases as B/L ratio increased from 0.5 to 1.5. Beyond a B/L ratio of 1.5, η increased with increasing B/L ratios. Optimum B/L ratio of 1 (based on measured minimum η) was identified for operation in the hydrodynamic regime. Overall reduction in η as a function of load was observed which is independent of B/L ratio and lubricant type. Also presented are the velocity effects on slider frictional performance.  相似文献

Compliant foil bearings operate on either gas or liquid, which makes them very attractive for use in extreme environments such as in high-temperature aircraft turbine engines and cryogenic turbopumps. However, a lack of analytical models to predict the dynamic characteristics of foil bearings forces the bearing designer to rely on prototype testing, which is time-consuming and expensive. In this paper, the authors present a theoretical model to predict the structural stiffness and damping coefficients of the bump foil strip in a journal bearing or damper. Stiffness is calculated based on the perturbation of the journal center with respect to its static equilibrium position. The equivalent viscous damping coefficients are determined based on the area of a closed hysteresis loop of the journal center motion. The authors found, theoretically, that the energy dissipated from this loop was mostly contributed by the frictional motion between contact surfaces. In addition, the source and mechanism of the nonlinear behavior of the bump foil strips were examined. With the introduction of this enhanced model, the analytical tools are now available for the design of compliant foil bearings.  相似文献

The number of mobile applications (apps) and mobile devices has increased considerably over the past few years. Online app markets, such as the Google Play Store, use a star-rating mechanism to quantify the user-perceived quality of mobile apps. Users may rate apps on a five point (star) scale where a five star-rating is the highest rating. Having considered the importance of a high star-rating to the success of an app, recent studies continue to explore the relationship between the app attributes, such as User Interface (UI) complexity, and the user-perceived quality. However, the user-perceived quality reflects the users’ experience using an app on a particular mobile device. Hence, the user-perceived quality of an app is not solely determined by app attributes. In this paper, we study the relation of both device attributes and app attributes with the user-perceived quality of Android apps from the Google Play Store. We study 20 device attributes, such as the CPU and the display size, and 13 app attributes, such as code size and UI complexity. Our study is based on data from 30 types of Android mobile devices and 280 Android apps. We use linear mixed effect models to identify the device attributes and app attributes with the strongest relationship with the user-perceived quality. We find that the code size has the strongest relationship with the user-perceived quality. However, some device attributes, such as the CPU, have stronger relationships with the user-perceived quality than some app attributes, such as the number of UI inputs and outputs of an app. Our work helps both device manufacturers and app developers. Manufacturers can focus on the attributes that have significant relationships with the user-perceived quality. Moreover, app developers should be careful about the devices for which they make their apps available because the device attributes have a strong relationship with the ratings that users give to apps.  相似文献
