We propose an power-efficient scanning scheme considering the consistency of the Information Element (IE) for the Media Independent Handover (MIH) based Vertical Handover. Since the Green IT is one of the key issues of the science, we suggested the power saving scheme by extending the information and the event service of the MIH framework to reduce the number of full scanning. We proposed the criteria to select the update MT to quantify the power consumption alongside various network scanning methods. Since the frequent and multiple network scanning incurred by small mobile terminals (MT) is considerable, the scanning avoidance is essential for the framework we suggest. The MIH Information Service (MIIS) provides many usable factors and features for the scanning avoidance. However, because of the absence of the criteria to select the update node, these values are not actually usable. Therefore, we suggest an Energy Efficient Function, which tests the validity of MIIS values and makes a decision on whether to avoid the scanning or not.  相似文献

The combustion characteristics of wallpaper and the toxicity of gas produced from wallpaper fires were analyzed to evaluate the fire risk of wallpaper used in living spaces. Ash content was measured with a high-temperature electric furnace, and thermal analysis was carried out with thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Combustion time and smoke concentration were measured with a cone heater and a combustion gas analyzer. The smoke density of samples was measured using the smoke chamber ASTM E 662. Pyrolysis in silk wallpaper began at a lower temperature than the other samples. This means that silk wallpaper can be ignited at a low heat flux and will have a greater fire risk than other kinds of wallpaper. Heat by radiation flux caused silk wallpaper to ignite in the shortest time compared to the other samples, so the time for evacuation in this situation may also be reduced. Silk wallpaper also released the highest carbon monoxide concentration, so the toxicity and harmful effects to consciousness were stronger than any other wallpaper. The smoke densities of silk wallpaper and fire retardant-treated silk wallpaper were very high due to their vinyl coatings.  相似文献

A new adaptive forward-error-correction scheme (AFEC) is introduced at the link layer for TCP/IP data traffic in wireless ATM networks. The fading and interference in wireless links cause high and variable error rates, as well as bursty errors. The purpose of the AFEC scheme is to provide a dynamic error-control mechanism by using Reed-Solomon coding to protect the ATM cell payload, as well as the payload type indicator/cell loss priority fields in the ATM cell header. In order to enhance the error tolerance in cell framing and correct delivery, the AFEC scheme functions within a new concept called LANET framing and addressing protection mechanisms. This paper describes the design and performance of a novel adaptive hybrid ARQ scheme using concatenated FEC codes for error control over wireless ATM networks. The wireless links are characterized by higher, time‐varying error rates and burstier error patterns in comparison with the fiber‐based links for which ATM was designed. The purpose of the hybrid ARQ scheme is to provide a capability to dynamically support reliable ATM‐based transport over wireless channels by using a combination of our ARQ scheme (called SDLP) and the concatenated FEC scheme. The key ideas in the proposed hybrid ARQ scheme are to adapt the code rate to the channel conditions using incremental redundancy and to increase the starting code rate as much as possible with the concatenated FEC, maximizing the throughput efficiency. The numerical results show that our proposed scheme outperforms other ARQ schemes for all SNR values. This paper describes the design and performance of a new ATM adaptation layer protocol (AAL‐T) for improving TCP performance over wireless ATM networks. The wireless links are characterized by higher error rates and burstier error patterns in comparison with the fiber links for which ATM was introduced in the beginning. Since the low performance of TCP over wireless ATM networks is mainly due to the fact that TCP always responds to all packet losses by congestion control, the key idea in the design is to push the error control portion of TCP to the AAL layer so that TCP is only responsible for congestion control. The AAL‐T is based on a novel and reliable ARQ mechanism to support quality‐critical TCP traffic over wireless ATM networks. The proposed AAL protocol has been validated using the OPNET tool with the simulated wireless ATM network. The simulation results show that the AAL‐T provides higher throughput for TCP over wireless ATM networks compared to the existing approach of TCP with AAL 5.
