Effects of genotype and treatment on the antioxidant activity of sweet potato in Taiwan

Six genotypes of sweet potato commercially available in Taiwan, including TNG57, TNG66, TNG68, TYY1, RP and WP, were used as samples in this study of the effects of steaming and kneading with pre-steaming treatments on the antioxidant components and antioxidant properties of methanolic extracts. Steam treatment increased the total phenols contents of all genotypes (2–13 times), flavonoids content of RP (1.3 times) and anthocyanins contents of RP and WP (5–6 times). Steam treatment also increased the reducing power and scavenging DPPH radical effect of sweet potato flours. For the methanolic extracts of steamed and kneaded flours, reducing powers were 0.02–1.70 at 5.0 mg ml⁻¹ and the scavenging effects on DPPH radicals were 19–92% at 2.5 mg ml⁻¹. Both showed the order of RP > WP > TYY1 and TNG66 > TNG57 and TNG68. However, the chelating effect of the six genotypes at 1.0 mg ml⁻¹ ranged from 50% to 73%. Contents of total phenols, flavonoids, and anthocyanins of sweet potato flours were significantly positively correlated with the reducing power and scavenging DPPH radical effects. After steaming and kneading treatments, RP showed the highest increase in the contents of total phenols, flavonoids and anthocyanins among the six genotypes studied.     

MPID─TOF质谱的快速时间分辨微弱信号测试系统

把瞬态记录仪Ｂｉｏｍａｔｉｏｎ８ｌ００与微型计算机ＩＢＭ─ｐＣ／ＸＴ联接建成了一个高速数据采集系统，本文介绍了系统的硬件接口设计及软件设计。在超声分子束条件下，把它应用于环氧乙烷（Ｃ＿２Ｈ＿４Ｏ）的多光子电离与离解飞行时间（ＭＰＩＤ─ＴＯＦ）质谱的实验研究中，并给出了实验结果；本系统在微观基元化学反应动力学实验研究中广泛适用于对时间分辨微弱信号的探测。     

Automatic conversion from lexical words to prosodic words for mandarin text-to-speech system

In real speech, not like lexical words (LWs), prosodic words (PWs) are basic rhythmic units. The naturalness of a Text-to-Speech (TTS) system is directly influenced by the segmentation of the PWs. Most of the PWs are the combination of several LWs. In this paper, three Lexical Combination Models are proposed to combine LWs into PWs, including a Directed Acyclic Graph Model, a Segmentation Model and a Markov Model (MM). To cope with the situation where some long LWs should be segmented into two or more PWs, a Lexical Split Model (LSM) is applied to the long LWs. Experimental results prove that relatively constant results with various training data can be obtained from a MM. The Transformation-Based Error Driven Learning (TBED) algorithm, for its high performance of individual property, is applied in combination with the MM to improve the precision of PW segmentation. Experiments show that among the three proposed models, the MM combined with TBED and LSM, leads to the best performance, in which a precision of 93.00% and a recall of 93.23% are achieved. The perception test indicates that by using PWs as the lowest prosodic units a speech sounds more natural and acceptable than by using LWs. Oxygen absorption kinetics in YBa2Cu3Ox

The oxygen absorption process in highly aligned YBa₂Cu₃O_x samples in air and in pure oxygen was studied at several constant temperatures. The process can be expressed in two steps, a chemical reaction controlled step and a diffusion controlled step. The kinetic equations are as follows respectively:

The activation energy was calculated using an Arrhenius equation. The technical conditions of heat treatment for oxygen absorption of highly aligned YBa₂Cu₃O_x crystals are discussed.     

面向对象中文窗口开发环境：C—VISION

Ｃ－ＶＩＳＩＯＮ中文窗口系统综合采用了面向对象与窗口环境设计的程序方法，彻底更新了在微机上进行中文窗口设计的编程思想，同时作为一个基础系统，为软件设计节约了大量的人力和时间，实现了微机程序的共享。     

A study on the anodic protection of Titanium evaporators in Al2(SO4)3 solution

The feasibility of the anodic protection of titanium evaporators in Al₂(SO₄)₃ solution was studied by the measurement of polarization curves, weight loss, solubility of passive film and AC impedance. The protection parameters and efficiency were determined. In addition, the practical technology of anodic protection was studied by screening reference electrodes and auxiliary cathodes. Throwing power was also measured. Four rows of tube-type evaporators of titanium have been anodically protected in situ. Field tests lasting more than one year show satisfactory results.     

The relationship between serum lipids, apolipoproteins level and bile lipids level, chemical type of stone

To pick up serum high risk lithogenic factors predisposing one to gallstone formation and protective factors against gallstone formation in gallbladder. We compared serum lipid and apolipoprotein level of patients with gallbladder stone (stone group) with that of patients without gallbladder stone (control group). The correlation between serum lipid, apolipoprotein level and bile lipid level, cholesterol saturated index (CSI), characteristics of lipidemia in different kinds of gallbladder stones were studied. The results showed that the increase of serum Apo A1, C2 and E level in the stone group was more significant than in the control group. But there was no statistical significance in TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C, Apo A2, B, C3 level between the stone and control groups. These results suggested that serum apolipoproteins perhaps are more sensitive parameters than serum lipids in distinguishing patients with stones from those without stones. There were different profiles of serum lipid and apolipoproteins in different chemical types of gallbladder stones. Increased level in serum LDL-C, Apo B and ratio of LDL-C/HDL-C were characterized by an index for cholesterol stone, otherwise that in serum TG and Apo C2 an index for pigment stones. There was a positive correlation between serum total cholesterol (TC) or Apo B, C2, C3 and cholesterol amount or CSI in gallbladder bile. Therefore, TC, Apo B, C2, C3 could be considered as high risk lithogenic factors. A positive correlation existed between serum HDL-C and lecithin in gallbladder or common bile duct (CBD) bile as well as between HDL-C and bile acids in CBD bile. Thus, HDL-C might be a protective factor against gallstone formation in gallbladder.     

COIL中BHP浓度对发生O_2(~1△)的影响

本文实验研究了BHP的浓度对产生O2（1△）的影响。实验结果表明：当BHP浓度大于3.5M时，Cl2利用率以及O2（1△）的产率将不依赖于BHP浓度的变化而变化，同时，实验结果表明，使用低浓度的BHP对COIL的操作是可行的。     

二次型时频分析技术的开发与应用

基于二次型的时频分析是高分辨率时频分析技术的有效方法之一，该项技术能够有效反映时变信号的频谱特性，具有分辨率高、能量集中和跟踪瞬时频率的特点。从时变信号的特点出发，阐述了二次型时频分析技术的基本方法原理，采用正演模型分析验证了该方法的有效性，并在实际地震资料中应用于识别物源方向、划分沉积相带、预测储层结构以及相对厚度等诸多方面，均取得了较好的效果。
