The loading data for the design and fatigue analyses of the primary system components are derived from the plant operating transients as specified in the Operational Manual, the accident analyses and from the external event requirements. The methods used, applicable codes and standards, and QA procedures produce a design concept that contains significant safety margins. Measurements conducted in pre-Konvoi plants and during commissioning of the Konvoi plants deliver additional verifications of the analyses.  相似文献

The design of turbine exhaust diffusers is still commonly based upon conservative design charts which do not consider the influence of the components installed upstream such as the last turbine stage.Based on investigations with different spoke wheels which approximate the blade wakes of the last turbine stage,the influence of a rotating bladed disc on the flow in a exhaust diffuser is presented.The pressure recovery for an annual diffuser with 15° half cone angle and the 5 mm spoke wheel used in the model test is very high and nearly independent on the rotational speed and the corresponding Strouhal number.For a 20° annual diffuser,the pressure recovery increases with Strouhal number  相似文献

We report on a four-mirror reflective wave-plate system based on a phase-shifting mirror (PSM) for a continuous variation of elliptical polarization without changing the beam position and direction. The system presented and characterized here can replace a conventional retardation plate providing all advantages of a PSM, such as high damage-threshold, large scalability, and low dispersion. This makes reflective wave-plates an ideal tool for ultra-high power laser applications.  相似文献

Summary Differential scanning calorimetry and miscibility investigations were used to study the micro-phase separation of liquid-crystalline dimesogenic side-group polysiloxanes. Diluted co-polysiloxanes exhibit two glass transition temperatures and an unusual miscibility behavior. The observed biphasic character is compared with that of certain amphiphilic systems.  相似文献

Abstract— A large number of new synthesized as well as known chiral dopants with respect to their helical twisting power (HTP), the phase stability of cholesteric solution prepared by doping nematic LC mixtures, the host dependence of the chiral induction, and the photostability has been examined. The evaluation led to the result that only few compounds fulfill the stringent application requirements of LCD manufacturing, especially with reference to bistable cholesteric devices.  相似文献

Current implementations of relaxation labeling are homogeneous, where each pixel is in an identical relationship to a static neighbor set. These systems maintain the iterative probabilistic labeling but use a nonhomogeneous dynamic neighborhood to establish a local consistency. Neighborhoods are created at each iteration through the broadcasting and reception of label information according to semantically established broadcasting patterns for each label. Augmented relaxation labeling is a two stage process which contains a separate relaxation stage with a top-down direction capability for specific pixel label updating. Dynamic relaxation is a one step process where every pixel label is updated through the dynamic neighborhoods. Both labeling processes are demonstrated on simple line drawings.  相似文献

The authors propose a global/local processing style model (GLOMO) for assimilation and contrast effects in social judgment. GLOMO is based on Schwarz and Bless' (1992, 2007) inclusion-exclusion model, which suggests that when information is included into a category, assimilation occurs, whereas when information is excluded from a category, contrast occurs. According to GLOMO, inclusion versus exclusion should be influenced by whether people process information globally or locally. In 5 experiments, using both disambiguation and social comparison, the authors induced local versus global processing through perceptual tasks and time perspective and showed that global processing produced assimilation, whereas local processing produced contrast. The experiments showed that processing styles elicited in one task can carry over to other tasks and influence social judgments. Furthermore, they found that hemisphere activation and accessibility of judgment-consistent knowledge partially mediated these effects. Depending on the processing conditions in liquid crystal (LC) display manufacturing, LC/polymer composite films may exhibit unusual properties with respect to the compositional and phase behavior of the LC constituents. In particular, we have observed extraordinary large shifts of phase transition temperatures in LC/polymer composites, which can not be explained by preferential solvation or adsorption. Therefore, the influence of real manufacturing conditions such as thermal stress, storage in vacuum, and UV irradiation on the nematic–isotropic (n–i) transition temperatures of commercial nematic mixtures was investigated. Shifts of the clearing temperature of up to 88 K, presumably due to partial evaporation or UV degradation, were observed. Furthermore, we found that annealing may lead to the replacement of the nematic phase by the smectic A phase at room temperature in both LC/polymer composites and pure LC samples. Among the tested commercial LC blends, the mixtures E7, MLC‐6650, and L101 showed the smallest stress effects. Practical consequences of our results are discussed. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
