The solution of electromagnetic wave propagation problems in time domain using an explicit method requires the inversion of Hodge matrices. This paper proposes an approximation to obtain a sparse inverse via the sparsity pattern of the original matrix. It is also shown the application of the algorithm Cuthill–McKee on Hodge matrices in order to reduce their bandwidth and thus speed up the method of recursive sparsification. Nanostructured materials have been widely studied due to the improvement of their mechanical properties comparing to those of coarse grain materials. The present work intended to analyze the microstructure and microhardness of Zr-2.5Nb processed by high-pressure torsion (HPT), one of the severe plastic deformation techniques. The deformations were carried out at room temperature using a pressure of 5?GPa and 5 anvil turns. Vickers indentation was used to evaluate the microhardness of the samples. Transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction were used to analyze the microstructure. The results showed a significant refinement from the initial microstructure achieving nanometric grain size around 50?nm and phase transformation α?→?ω?+?βI induced by shear. The Vickers microhardness values of the material submitted to HPT technique were significantly higher than those of non-deformed material. Also, HPT procedure resulted in a huge grain refinement of the material and in phase transformation.  相似文献

This paper shows that an important part of the power consumption of a biquad band‐pass filter is associated with the feedback loop that fixes the high‐pass frequency and blocks the direct current (dc) input signals. The dc input amplitude that can be blocked is related to the maximum output current that one of the transconductors can provide, hence impacting on the required consumption through this effect. Then, a technique that efficiently blocks the dc input signal and fixes the high‐pass frequency is introduced and analyzed in depth. Moreover, an architecture for ultra‐low‐power differential‐input biquads is fully presented. The proposed architecture enables lowering the power consumption or blocking higher levels of dc input without jeopardizing the power consumption. Results show that the proposed architecture, compared with a traditional one, presents a 30% reduction in power consumption and more than doubles the dc input that can be blocked. The metabolism of labelled progesterone was studied in vitro in uterine tissue of non-pregnant rats with particular emphasis on the influence of substrate concentration. Neither a qualitative nor quantitative difference was found for a steroid tissue ratio between 15 X 10(-6) and 4.2 X 10(-9) to 1 g (substrate amounts between 57.73 and 0.02 nmol); with both concentrations 42 to 44 per cent of progesterone was metabolized to about 35 per cent monohydroxymonoketonic steroids and 4-6 per cent dihydroxylated C21O2-compounds. In both sets of incubations we have isolated and identified the following steroids: 3alpha-hydroxy-5alpha-pregnan-20-one, 3beta-hydroxy-4-pregnen-20-one, 3alpha-hydroxy-4-pregnen-20-one, 20alpha-hydroxy-4-pregnen-3-one, 5alpha-pregnane-3alpha,20alpha-diol and 4-pregnene-3alpha,20alpha-diol. The most abundant metabolite formed in these incubations was 3alpha-hydroxy-4-pregnen-20-one which corresponds to about 30 per cent of the total activity recovered. It is the first time that the presence of 20alpha-hydroxysteroid-oxidoreductase activity is definitely established in this type of tissue. The identification of three allylic alcohols as progesterone metabolites in the rat uterus confirms that delta4-3-hydroxysteroids are important intermediates in the in vitro uterine metabolism of steroids.  相似文献

The thermal efficiency of a Kenics® KM static mixer used to pre-heat supercritical carbon dioxide, under high pressure conditions, is studied using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). A mesh sensitivity analysis is performed and the CFD model is validated against experimental results on heat transfer with conventional and supercritical fluids. Three turbulent models - standard k-?, RNG k-?, and k-ω - are employed to model the flow and heat transfer under high pressure conditions; the effects of large variations of the physical properties in the pseudo-critical region of the fluid are also studied. The RNG k-? model gives results that are closer to the experimental data than the other two turbulence models. The numerical results show that the static mixer has a thermal efficiency more than three times higher than that of a conventional empty pipe heat exchanger with similar heat transfer area.  相似文献

In the homodimeric hemoglobin from Scapharca, HbI, functional communication between the two heme groups is based on their direct structural linkage across the subunit interface through the heme propionates. The heme-protein interactions have been altered in deutero- and meso-HbI by substituting the vinyl groups at positions 2 and 4 of protoheme with hydrogen and ethyl groups, respectively. In meso-HbI the introduction of the ethyl groups in the heme pocket induces significant alterations in the conformation of the heme peripheral substituents, including the propionates, and in the structure of bound CO, as revealed by the resonance Raman spectra. The functional counterpart of these structural changes is the loss of cooperativity in carbon monoxide binding and in the rate of oxygen dissociation. Oxygen pulse and flash photolysis experiments indicate that meso-HbI is locked in the liganded conformation. It is postulated that the ethyl groups, which occupy a larger volume than vinyl ones, impair the ligand-linked movement of the heme relative to its pocket and in turn the expression of cooperativity. In deutero-HbI structural alterations have not been monitored. Functionally, cooperativity in the CO binding kinetics is increased as if hydrogen atoms at positions 2 and 4 permitted more marked movements of the heme than in the native protein.  相似文献

The classification and recognition of two-dimensional patterns independently of their position, orientation, and size by using high-order networks are discussed. A method is introduced for reducing and controlling the number of weights of a third-order network used for invariant pattern recognition. The method leads to economical networks that exhibit high recognition rates for translated, rotated, and scaled, as well as locally distorted, patterns. The performance of these networks at recognizing types and handwritten numerals independently of their position, size, and orientation is compared with and found superior to the performance of a layered feedforward network to which image features extracted by the method of moments are presented as input.  相似文献

Experimental and theoretical investigations of optical phase modulation induced by thick piezoelectric lead zirconate titanate (PZT) film coated coaxially on single mode optical fibres are presented for the first time. Spent coffee grounds (SCG), which are the residue obtained from the treatment of coffee with hot water or steam, can be used for industrial applications, due to the high content in lipids. The cosmetic products might be a suitable application for these types of residues because the barrier properties of the stratum corneum (SC) are largely dependent on the intactness of the lipid lamellae that surrounds the corneocytes. The purpose of this work was to assess the feasibility of using the lipid fraction of SCG extracted with supercritical carbon dioxide in the development of new cosmetic formulations with improved skin lipids (sebum) and hydration. The use of spent coffee lipid extract in cosmetic industry seems to be a suitable approach to recycle the wastes from coffee industry. Emulsion containing 10% of the lipid fraction of SCG (SpentCofOil cream) presented promising characteristics in the improvement of sebum skin levels with a good acceptance by consumers when compared to an emulsion containing 10% w/w of green coffee oil (GreenCofOil cream) and a placebo without coffee oil (NoCofOil cream). Practical applications: In this work, the authors develop and characterize a cream containing 10% of the lipid fraction of SCG extracted with supercritical carbon dioxide with improved skin lipids (sebum) and hydration.  相似文献
