In this paper we discuss reasoning about reasoning in a multiple agent scenario. We consider agents that are perfect reasoners, loyal, and that can take advantage of both the knowledge and ignorance of other agents. The knowledge representation formalism we use is (full) first order predicate calculus, where different agents are represented by different theories, and reasoning about reasoning is realized via a meta-level representation of knowledge and reasoning. The framework we provide is pretty general: we illustrate it by showing a machine checked solution to the three wisemen puzzle. The agents' knowledge is organized into units: the agent's own knowledge about the world and its knowledge about other agents are units containing object-level knowledge; a unit containing meta-level knowledge embodies the reasoning about reasoning and realizes the link among units. In the paper we illustrate the meta-level architecture we propose for problem solving in a multi-agent scenario; we discuss our approach in relation to the modal one and we compare it with other meta-level architectures based on logic. In recent years, bioprinting has attracted much attention as a potential tool for generating complex 3D biological constructs capable of mimicking the native tissue microenvironment and promoting physiologically relevant cell–cell and cell–matrix interactions. The aim of the present study was to develop a crosslinked 3D printable hydrogel based on biocompatible natural polymers, gelatin and xanthan gum at different percentages to be used both as a scaffold for cell growth and as a wound dressing. The CellInk Inkredible 3D printer was used for the 3D printing of hydrogels, and a glutaraldehyde solution was tested for the crosslinking process. We were able to obtain two kinds of printable hydrogels with different porosity, swelling and degradation time. Subsequently, the printed hydrogels were characterized from the point of view of biocompatibility. Our results showed that gelatin/xanthan-gum bioprinted hydrogels were biocompatible materials, as they allowed both human keratinocyte and fibroblast in vitro growth for 14 days. The potentiometric behaviour of the hydrogen electrodes (Pt or Au) H2O-H2, OH–has been investigated in molten (Na0·5, K0·5)NO3 at 503 K. In both cases the potential of the indifferent electrode could be expressed by the general equation

A two-step bottom up preparation protocol is proposed as a useful tool for the controlled modification of tin oxide films by means of Pd nanoparticles (PdNPs). Colloidal palladium is prepared via an electrolytic process that affords for a core-shell particle structure, while nanostructured tin oxide films are prepared following a sol–gel process. Pd/SnOx composite layers are obtained adding a proper aliquot of pre-formed PdNPs to the tin oxide precursor solution. The nanomaterials surface chemical composition is addressed by X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy. Preliminary results on the application of Pd/SnOx as active layers in chemiresistor-type gas-sensing devices are reported, as well. 相似文献

The present study investigated the processing of painful electrical stimuli in patients with unilateral frontal or parietal lobe damage and matched control subjects. Patients with frontal lesions showed increased pain thresholds when the stimuli were administered contralateral to the lesion. While the peak-to-peak amplitudes of the N150/P250 components of the somatosensory potentials increased linearly with stimulus intensity in the control subjects, the responses in the frontal group did not change significantly between stimulation at pain and tolerance threshold. There was no evidence for altered pain processing in patients with parietal lobe lesions. The findings of the present study support the hypothesis of an involvement of the frontal cortex in pain perception in humans. 相似文献

The authors tested the ability of capuchin monkeys (Cebus apella) to make inferences about hidden food. In Experiment 1, we showed the content of 2 boxes, 1 of which was baited (visual condition, VC) or we shook both boxes producing noise from the baited box (auditory condition, AC). Seven subjects (out of 8) were above chance in the VC, whereas only 1 was above chance in AC. During treatment, by manipulating empty and filled objects subjects experienced the relation between noise and content. When tested again, 7 capuchins were above chance in the VC and 3 in AC. In Experiment 2, we gave visual or auditory information only about the empty box and, consequently, successful choice implied inferential reasoning. All subjects (out of 4) were above chance in the VC, and 2 in the AC. Control tests ruled out the possibility that success resulted from simply avoiding the shaken noiseless box, or from the use of arbitrary auditory information. precipitation. This region is also prone to the effects of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), a large-scale climatic pattern
associated with a displacement of air mass between the arctic and the subtropical Atlantic. Even though previous studies have
demonstrated the impact of the NAO on winter climate conditions in Europe and Northern Africa, it is still unclear to what
extent the NAO is related to hydroclimatic patterns in Mediterranean areas and whether it can explain its recent drought history.
To this end, this study investigates the interdependence between the NAO and winter precipitation, river flow and temperature
