Methods are proposed for designing interpolation models for the preliminary determination and subsequent forecasting of general
and fractional breakthrough coefficients for dust used with granular filters, as employed in energy-saving and high-performance

which makes them widely suitable for experts working in environmental protection at refractory-producing organizations. The

The synthetic substrate anthraniloyl-beta-glycerol-P binds to myoinositol monophosphatase with a Kd = 5 microM at pH 7.5. The anthraniloyl chromophore, excited at 330 nm, sensitizes the long lived luminescence of bound Tb(III) at 490, 545, 585 and 620 nm. Assuming a mechanism of radiationless energy transfer, the actual distance of separation between the donor-acceptor pair was calculated to be R = 10 A. Tb(III) binds to the monophosphatase with a Kd = 2 microM, whereas Ca-(II) displaces the lanthanide at concentrations above 0.1 mM. The binding studies support the notion that Tb(III), Ca(II) and Mg(II) interact with a common binding site on the protein. Phosphate ion, a strong competitive inhibitor, perturbs the luminescence of bound Tb(III), whereas the substrate beta-glycero-P has no effect on the luminescence yield and long-lived emission of bound Tb(III). It is suggested that the phosphate group of the substrate is not in direct contact with the metal ion coordinated to several amino acid residues of the enzyme. 相似文献

The use of conventional ultrasound systems to image the upper airway has been limited because ultrasound energy is attenuated by the air column. In an attempt to study upper airway geometry, we developed a computer controlled bi-directional ultrasound system which combines two conventional ultrasound devices with computer image processing to yield images of upper airway structures. Human studies and cadaver studies were performed to evaluate the system. Images acquired by the bi-directional ultrasound system were comparable to images from 3D volume rendered CT scans. The rapid advances in molecular biology have begun to shift many of the bottlenecks in genome research from the laboratory to the data analysis facility. The pace at which this has occurred creates a situation in which software development always has to catch up with the flow of data. Since such large-scale processes were not anticipated, the analysis infrastructure has not been fully established. Furthermore, most systems that have been built were designed by the biologists who collected the data. More recently, computer scientists, mathematicians, and engineers have taken an interest in this problem. This has had a positive effect, since it has created a tight synergy between the informatics and the biology. Several principles affected the design of the system developed at TIGR. Each of the sample preparation, sequencing, and analysis steps had to be managed, scheduled, and tracked. This information had to be made readily available to those who needed it for carrying out their tasks. Different skill levels of the users had to be taken into account. The degree of human intervention at each step had to be evaluated and built into the design. A mixed processing environment of Macintosh and Unix platforms had to be integrated. Most importantly, the system had to save time, reduce error, and ensure uniformity of the analysis and quality of the results. In the authors' experience, the tools they have built work well because of their early decisions as to which systems to use for development. A structured genetic algorithm (SGA) approach is developed for robust controller design based on the concept of an H∞ loop-shaping technique and the method of inequalities. Such an SGA is capable of simultaneously searching the orders and coefficients of the precompensator and postcompensator for the weighted plant. It is, therefore, not necessary to predefine the order of compensators as in usual practice. A multiple objective ranking approach is also incorporated so that the design criteria of extreme plants can be easily achieved. The humidity response characteristics of La doped BaTiO3 with different sintered densities and room temperature electrical conductivities were investigated using complex impedance measurement. The samples with low density and high resistivity showed the large and nearly linear sensitivity to the change of humidity. The impedance spectra of samples, when exposed to high humidity, can exhibit microstructure-related features, even though they do not give rise to a noticeable characteristic change when exposed to low humidity.
