Mold preparation, material layup, and cure times for thermoset-based composites often limit their use in high-volume applications. As such, new rapid cure epoxy resins are being developed to achieve a complete cycle time within 3 min. In this research, calorimetry and rheometry are used to examine and model two novel rapid cure epoxy resin systems with internal mold release. The rapid cure epoxy resins followed an autocatalytic cure kinetic and William–Landel–Ferry diffusion model. The rapid cure epoxy resin was shown to achieve 94% cure in 2 min at 150°C. However, adding an additional 2.5 wt% internal mold release hindered the first step of the reaction, which delayed the second reaction step since the final degrees of cure were similar. Furthermore, the resin viscosity followed a modified William–Landel–Ferry equation and at 120°C could maintain a viscosity below 5 Pa s for 4.1 min. These models provided valuable insight into the range of processing conditions these novel resins could experience during impregnation and molding processes.  相似文献

In this paper, the vulnerability of the future electrified railway system in Europe from a high-power microwave (HPM) source is investigated. The scenario of in-band disturbances radiated toward a GSM-R antenna and damaging the connected communications system is evaluated for different classes of HPM sources and situations. The minimum realistic distances for the different HPM sources from the antenna to cause permanent damage is shown, and the severity of threat from the different sources is discussed.  相似文献

This paper investigates the propagation of subnanosecond rise time (ultra wideband) voltage transients in low-voltage installation power cables. Experimental results are compared to simulations. It is concluded that the main mode of propagation of differentially injected transients in low-voltage installation power cables is transverse electromagnetic mode. Also, such transients would spread relatively unattenuated to any load or junction in the power system, received power primarily only limited by the impedance mismatches causing reflections. The effects of different types of bends in the cable have been studied. The study was conducted as a part of an assessment of the susceptibility of civilian facilities to intentional electromagnetic interference.  相似文献

Objective: PASADENA, a chemical method of enhancing nuclear spin polarization has demonstrated 13C polarizations of order unity for the nascent products of molecular addition by parahydrogen. The extreme brevity of signal enhancement obtained by hyperpolarization requires improved 13C MR in vivo imaging techniques for their optimum utility. Materials and Methods: 13C imaging sequences, including 13C 3D FIESTA, were compiled for a GE LX 1.5 T clinical MR scanner. Two water soluble 13C imaging agents were hyperpolarized utilizing parahydrogen and an automated polarizer. 13C polarization was quantified in flow phantoms and in rats with jugular vein catheters. Results: Fast 3D FIESTA 13C MR imaging technique acquired sequential 3D images (3.66 s/acquisition) with superior SNR. Hyperpolarized 13C solutions and vascular phantoms achieved a maximum signal of 26,624±593. In vivo 13C MR images of the cardiopulmonary circulation showed maximum 13C signal of 2,402±158. 13C images acquired within 3.66 s showed signal enhancement over 10,000 compared to equilibrium polarization. Conclusion: 3D-FIESTA was effective for sub-second in vivo imaging of hyperpolarized 13C reagents produced in a custom-built parahydrogen polarizer. Control Ss who experienced high prior deprivation of a reinforcing stimulus (approval) responded more with a reinforced response in a verbal conditioning situation than Ss less deprived. Other Ss committed themselves to undergoing postexperimental deprivation of social reinforcement after the same high prior social deprivation. A model suggested by dissonance theory predicted that such Ss who committed themselves for lower rewards would experience greater dissonance; the greater the dissonance, the more could Ss justify their decisions and reduce dissonance by reducing their motive for social reinforcement, consequently behaving in the conditioning situation as Ss who had low motivation for social reinforcement. As expected, experimental Ss in the High Dissonance condition who committed themselves for low reward ($1.00) responded less to social reinforcement, i.e., they showed a smaller increase in response strength of emission of verbal behavior than Control Ss or Low Dissonance Ss who committed themselves for high reward ($5.00).
