In this contribution, we propose a new code-aided synchronization and channel estimation algorithm for uplink MC-CDMA. The space alternating generalized expectation- maximization (SAGE) algorithm is used to estimate the channel impulse responses, propagation delays and carrier frequency offsets of the different users. The estimator, multi-user detector, equalizer, demapper and channel decoder exchange soft information in an iterative way. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated through Monte Carlo simulations. Impressive performance gains are visible as compared to a conventional data-aided estimation scheme.  相似文献

This article presents a novel modified chuck wagon dinner bell shaped millimeter wave (mm-wave) antenna at 28 GHz. The proposed design has ultra-thin Rogers 5880 substrate with relative permittivity of 2.2. The design consists of T shaped resonating elements and two open ended side stubs. The desired 28 GHz frequency response is achieved by careful parametric modeling of the proposed structure. The maximum achieved single element gain at the desired resonance frequency is 3.45 dBi. The efficiency of the proposed design over the operating band is more than 88%. The impedance bandwidth achieved for −10 dB reference value is nearly 2.9 GHz. The proposed antenna is transformed into four element linear array which increases the gain up to 10.5 dBi. The fabricated prototype is tested for the measured results. It is observed that measured results closely match the simulated results. By considering its simple structure and focused radiation patterns, the proposed design is well suited for IoT (Internet of Things), mmWave microwave sensing, 5G and future RF (Radio Frequency) front-ends.  相似文献

In OFDM systems, the symbol timing synchronization is needed to find an estimate of where the symbol starts. The most popular of the pilot-aided timing estimators is the one proposed by Schmidl and Cox (S&C) ["Robust Frequency and Timing Synchronization for OFDM," IEEE Transactions on Communications, vol. 45, no. 12, pp. 1613-1621, Dec. 1997]. Generally, the proper action of the timing estimator may be strongly affected by the presence of disturbances, like narrowband interference (NBI) signals. This paper investigates the effect of NBI signals, which may arise in the OFDM band as the spectrum becomes more crowded, on the timing synchronization for OFDM systems. The performance of the S&C symbol timing synchronizer is evaluated in an analytical way in the presence of narrowband interferers. Also, the probabilities of both missing and false detection of a training sequence are addressed. Further, simulations have been carried out to verify the validity of the approximations in the analysis.  相似文献

The real and imaginary parts of the dielectric constant (ε′ and ε″) were measured as a function of temperature at 10 kHz for a cobalt‐gelatin film before and after exposure to different values of fast neutron fluences and γ doses. The values of the ac conductivity were found to be affected to some extent by the type of irradiation in comparison with that of the unirradiated ones. However, the behavior of ε′, ε″, and ac conductivity seemed to be the same at higher and lower doses of both types of radiation. This behavior was also observed by comparing the calculated values of the activation energies for co‐gelatin films before and after irradiation. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
