Summary The synthesis and thermal degradability of poly (DL-lactide) were investigated. Key factors affecting the polymer molecular weight were found to be monomer recrystallization, initiator concentration and the vacuum level during drying/sealing of the polymerization reaction ampoule. It was found that poly (DL-lactide) is thermally unstable above its melting temperature. Monomer recrystallization, polymer precipitation and a low initiator content of the polymer significantly inhibited the rate and extent of thermal degradation.  相似文献

Experimental parameters which are critical for producing small diameter (i.e. 100-300 μm) polymer microbeads, using electrostatic droplet generation, were investigated with three types of electrodes; a parallel plate, a positively charged needle and a grounded needle with alginate as the polymer. Electrode spacing was a critical factor controlling microbead size, but only for the parallel plate set-up. While the applied potential affected droplet size in all three set-ups, the smallest droplet size was produced with the positively charged needle. In some experiments needle oscillation was observed resulting in even smaller microbeads (i.e. < 100 μm). Calculated microbead diameters agreed well with experimental values.  相似文献

Location-based applications such as Facebook Places, Foursquare, or Loopt typically use location services to manage mobile object positions. However, exposing precise user positions raises user privacy concerns, especially if location service providers are not fully trusted. To enable the secure management of private user positions in non-trusted systems, we present two novel position sharing approaches based on the concept of multi-secret sharing. We improve existing geometric position sharing approaches by Dürr et al. [2] and Skvortsov et al. [3] by considering continuous position updates and by increasing the robustness against various attacks. Furthermore, we present the first position sharing approach for symbolic location models.  相似文献

In this work, real-time ultraviolet photodetectors are realized through metal–semiconductor–metal (MSM) structures. Amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide (a-IGZO) is used as semiconductor material and gold as metal electrodes. The readout of an individual sensor is implemented by a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) consisting of an all-enhancement a-IGZO thin-film transistor (TFT) operational amplifier and a switched capacitor (SC) as feedback resistance. The photosensor and the transimpedance amplifier are both manufactured on glass substrates. The measured photosensor possesses a high responsivity R , a low response time t R E S , and a good noise equivalent power value NEP .  相似文献

Let A be the generator of a strongly continuous semigroup T on the Hilbert space X, and let C be a linear operator from D(A) to another Hilbert space Y (possibly unbounded with respect to X, not necessarily admissible). We consider the problem of estimating the initial state z0D(A) (with respect to the norm of X) from the output function y(t)=CTtz0, given for all t in a bounded interval [0,τ]. We introduce the concepts of estimatability and backward estimatability for (A,C) (in a more general way than currently available in the literature), we introduce forward and backward observers, and we provide an iterative algorithm for estimating z0 from y. This algorithm generalizes various algorithms proposed recently for specific classes of systems and it is an attractive alternative to methods based on inverting the Gramian. Our results lead also to a very general formulation of Russell’s principle, i.e., estimatability and backward estimatability imply exact observability. This general formulation of the principle does not require T to be invertible. We illustrate our estimation algorithms on systems described by wave and Schrödinger equations, and we provide results from numerical simulations.  相似文献

Architectural prototyping is the process of using executable code to investigate stakeholders’ software architecture concerns with respect to a system under development. Previous work has established this as a useful and cost-effective way of exploration and learning of the design space of a system and in addressing issues regarding quality attributes, architectural risks, and the problem of knowledge transfer and conformance. However, the actual industrial use of architectural prototyping has not been thoroughly researched so far. In this article, we report from three studies of architectural prototyping in practice. First, we report findings from an ethnographic study of practicing software architects. Secondly, we report from a focus group on architectural prototyping involving architects from four companies. And, thirdly, we report from a survey study of 20 practicing software architects and software developers. Our findings indicate that architectural prototyping plays an important and frequent role in resolving problems experimentally, but less so in exploring alternative solutions. Furthermore, architectural prototypes include end-user or business related functionality rather than purely architectural functionality. Based on these observations we provide recommendations for effective industrial architectural prototyping.  相似文献
