The properties of photonic crystal fibers with large air holes can be modeled by a silica rod in air. Such approximate calculations show that the dispersion of photonic crystal fibers could exceed -2000 ps/mm/km, or they could compensate (to within ±0.2%) the dispersion of 35 times their length of standard fiber over a 100-nm range 相似文献

Abstract Quantum state reconstruction, consisting of mixing an unknown signal with the sequence of probe fields on the beam-splitter and the subsequent counting of the statistics of the output state, is considered here. Besides the standard method based on deterministic inversion of counted data the maximum likelihood estimation is applied. The comparison demonstrates the possible failure of the standard reconstruction procedure in some cases. 相似文献
